Apr 13th, 2009, 05:03 PM
What the hell...I thought Alize was supposed to play well on clay?

Cornet's career has stagnated. Get it together, girl.

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:03 PM
Go and play together with Marta doubles:cuckoo::tape:

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:04 PM
Steph played great:yeah:

Alize :spit:

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:04 PM
Cohen Aloro really exploited Cornet's weaknesses today and fully deserved to win. I'm happy for her. Cornet is quite weak this season though. :o No power at all...

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:04 PM
Wow, Alizé. :help: Very disappointing. Not just the scoreline, but also the way she played. It was horrible, especially in the first set! She kept hitting easy returns out and was a complete mess.

Very well done by Cohen-Aloro. She played really well!

Alize show low confident entire match and look totally tired all the time
IMO she will struggle this year clay season.

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:08 PM
Hope she won't be new Maria Sharapova cause her shoulder.

Strange but every year you get player or two who broke in top20 in the previous year and suddenly when you expect them to rise up the rankinds (or at least hold it) they have a downfall (Sprem, Vaidisova, Peer, Szavay, Chakvetadze etc).

Looks like 2009 will be downfall for Cornet (i still wonder how she ever made it that high) and probably Cibulkova

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:45 PM
 @ this result.

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:48 PM
Look for Cornet to be the next Safarova, Chakvetadze, etc.

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:50 PM
...Wtf? The score should be reversed.

Congrats to Cohen-Aloro, she must have played well.

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:54 PM

Apr 13th, 2009, 05:56 PM
 At the reactions to this loss.

I am hardly biased regarding Cornet. She is a player I neither like a great deal or dislike. But I appreciate that she has a good deal of ability, particularly on clay. Had Cornet lost this match in a competitive manner I would be inclinded to think this was a very good match by Cohen-Aloro and a very poor one by Cornet. But the scoreline tells a different story to me. Clearly something is very wrong with Cornet. Most likely she is playing with an injury, if not then I can only conclude something is going on in her life that is causing her to be unable to focus on playing tennis. Either way, short term this looks bad for her. Mid term and long term? I don't know. Probably not.

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:09 PM
Alizé :o

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:25 PM
how can she lose so badly to such a fatty? i cringed every time Cohen-Aloro tossed the ball :help::hysteric::speakles:

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:28 PM
OMG. She's supposed to be better than this on clay.

I think Cornet hit the ball harder in '07 than she does today.

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:33 PM
Alizé is in Barcelona with her mom and without her coach. This isn't the first time she's only travelling with her mother. By experience, French players need their mother close to them when there is something wrong :
- Virginie during Australian tournaments (we know now why)
- Pauline last year in Ausria (we also know why)
- Marion during wimbledon 2008

So, we can expect something wrong with Alizé (shoulder, love affair,...)

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:33 PM
and people say she will be tough to beat at Rolland garros!? :help:

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:38 PM
Amazing from Stephanie. What's her record against fellow frenchies?

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:41 PM
what a horrible result for cornet, i know shes overranked but this loss is bad.

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:43 PM
fixed :o :o

I was at stands, and its right Cornet didnt play well. But I would say 75% of the win was because Cohen Aloro. She played probably one of the best matches of her life. People was really impressed. Cornet tried to fight, and had 2 Bps for 4-5 in the second, but Stephanie played just very well.

She was definitely one of the better players today in Barcelona (if not the best)

Apr 13th, 2009, 06:48 PM
Stephanie :worship: Well done girl :hearts:

Sorry Alize.

Apr 13th, 2009, 07:04 PM

I think Flavia can relax a little now knowing she wont have to face Alize in the final.

Apr 13th, 2009, 07:13 PM
:bigcry:All my faves are slumping:help:
:yeah:Stephanie Cohen-Aloro played well though and realy deserved the win

Apr 13th, 2009, 07:14 PM
Alize, you are pathetic...your best surface :help:

Apr 13th, 2009, 07:32 PM
is she injured or sth?

Apr 13th, 2009, 07:59 PM

Apr 13th, 2009, 08:43 PM
OMG totally unexpected

Apr 13th, 2009, 08:55 PM
what the hell?

Apr 13th, 2009, 09:02 PM
ohhh god. What an unexpected loss.and she even got a bagel...I thought Alize would do well here, since clay is her favourite surface...

Apr 13th, 2009, 09:58 PM
This is just a pretty pathetic and sad result... :o I mean, getting bageled by Cohen-aloro on clay while you are one of the promising claycourters out there it's just depressing. If you're injured, don't play. If something's wrong, take the time to recover.

I mean, i just CANNOT believe she lost this in this way without something being wrong. She was a tier1 finalist last year for godsakes. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. And do it fast, or you're out of the top30. Half of her points are packed in the upcoming 4 tournaments....

Apr 13th, 2009, 10:39 PM
And of course now Cornet will bring her A game against Slovak girls in Fed Cup.

Apr 13th, 2009, 10:48 PM
big OUCH

Apr 13th, 2009, 11:37 PM

Apr 13th, 2009, 11:40 PM

Apr 14th, 2009, 02:10 AM
i need some new favs.

Apr 14th, 2009, 02:44 AM
... :spit:

Apr 14th, 2009, 02:47 AM
oh, she was the top seed.

Apr 14th, 2009, 04:49 AM
I thought the bad loss, especially the lost mps to Safina in AO was a really crushing destruction for her confidence.
I'm not hoping that she would be the 2nd Tamira Paszek, who lost the long set in AO 1r to Jankovic in 2008, and then struggled more than one year to get back on track little by little.
Alize is supposed to be smarter than Tamira, if she could recognise her problem and get it together, she still could be one of the best youngsters on the WTA tour. If not, I'm not sure what will be going on then.
I still believe that last year wasn't her best time of her life, she's still got the talent and potential to be better.

Apr 14th, 2009, 04:50 AM
Obviously still injured...

Apr 14th, 2009, 04:55 AM
Didn't see the match, but that scoreline is quite a shocker.

Apr 14th, 2009, 04:59 AM
Give them hell to those mockers& haters girl!Get it together, you're gonna be just fine.

Apr 14th, 2009, 06:14 AM
:spit: That's pathetic Alize. :help:

Apr 14th, 2009, 08:07 AM
:spit: ridiculously hilarious

Apr 14th, 2009, 08:46 AM

i thought i read the scoreline wrong :spit:

Apr 14th, 2009, 02:13 PM
Is she still injured? Obviously she didn't play like she usually does. She is way more competitive w/ harder opponents and worse surfaces than that usually. Alize, rest up for a few weeks.

Apr 14th, 2009, 11:16 PM
Alizé :help:

Well done Steph :yeah:

Apr 14th, 2009, 11:46 PM
