The only thing that appeared off at all during Indian Wells was her serve. Hopefully Felgate got that squared away this week. If so, I think she could make a deep run here. Her motivation appears to be back and her return game seems maybe even better than before her slump.

Anyways, I really like her draw. Sveta is playing badly.. but might pick it up after her quick exit in Indian Wells, who knows? First two rounds should be easy though. We will go from there after. :angel:

So she returns to Kodat and suddenly bagels a higher ranked opponent. Insane stuff. Kodat must have some strange arcane abilities at his disposal. I am not convinced yet that Nicole is back, but it looks interesting.

I'm not sure Kodat has strange abilities beyond being a good coach, but I think Nicole is able in his presence to remember the way she used to play. As if he is acting as a memory trigger. Also, I think that when Nicole accepted that she needed to return to basics and return to Kodat, it put her mind in a good place to play tennis.

Wow I read the livescore thread to see what I missed while sleeping. 4-1 to 4-6 :help: ... I guess even though Nicole has good patches now her level is very unstable. And she still seems to tank some games like in the end of the first set, but I'm not sure if she's actually tanking since I can't see the match. Sure seemed like it though. 4 aces in a row for Sveta? I don't think she was even trying to return. Oh well, she's... sort of back. At least she can definitely play well against Alona. :lol:
