View Full Version : Paradorn vs Greg

Aug 31st, 2002, 02:45 AM
Is anybody watching this match? It's great!
They finally made a good decision with
programming and chose to show only
Serena and Paradorns match for the US OPEN
night sessions. How do you like that they
finally didn't show Pete?

Greg's been giving heavy vibes to the lines
persons. :(

Oops he broke back. Drats!! By the way
this is broadcasted on STAR SPORTS. I suppose they
owe this match since he gave the stupid network
a plug in his last interview.

Too bad the commentary totally SUCKS!!!

Paradon

Her was up a break in both third and fourth and cannot convert

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:03 AM
' Whoo! He held his serve.

Hee. The Thai crowd are chanting Paradorn's name.

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:10 AM
Wow. Paradorn even has the non-crowd cheering now.

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:18 AM
Yeah, this is a great match, but Greg R is a weirdo!! He pulls his socks up after every point. It's scary :(

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:18 AM
great match, but it looks like Paradorn has hurt his hand...

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:19 AM
Clap, clap.

Paradorn breaks the Greg serve during the tie break.
Greg is starting to do more DF's during crucial moments.

The Crowd gave Paradorn a standing ovation after the
clean winner after his 2nd tie breaker set point.

Woo Hoo!

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:20 AM
The commentators (our dimwits) are saying it's blisters
on Paradorn's hand. I hope he get's bandages on them.

Go Paradorn.

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:21 AM
Greg? Weird? lol.

He comes as a total jerk on court , yet he's the nicest
player off court. If it's not the constant "towel" thing;
now we have this "pull up sock" thing. I suppose we
can only say one thing..."He's Canadian". LoL. ")

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:30 AM
0-3 in the fifth for Paradorn :(

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:33 AM
4-0 Greg... well the 2nd/3rd/4th sets were fab!!!

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:34 AM
Paradorn is fading. He's make dumb lazy errors.
Oh well....

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:54 AM
Wow. Paradorn breaks the Greg serve. It's
now 5-3. He's still alive while Greg is DF-ing and
doing footfaults.

Aug 31st, 2002, 03:57 AM
Paradorn holds serve on an very easy service game.
Greg's returns are looking shaky. Amazing come-back.
Paradorn looked tired; but not now. lol.

Aug 31st, 2002, 04:00 AM

Greg's service game just broke down while he was
serving for the set. It's now 5-4. The entire crowd
is now totally for Paradorn. :)

Aug 31st, 2002, 04:06 AM
i sorry to tell you that Paradorn loses to Greg.

Aug 31st, 2002, 04:06 AM
What a weird end to this match!!!!! Greg serves
all to win the 5th set at 6-4, but he goes straight to the
chair and starts chewing him out. He's really piss*d off
about something and is just telling the Chair Umpire off.
Paradorn is holding his arms up soaking up the applause
from the crowd. ? It's weird..who's the victor, and
who lost the match? lol.

The crowd is giving Paradorn a standing ovation; while
Greg is still telling of the Chair Umpire and now the lines-person.

Strange very, strange.

Aug 31st, 2002, 04:10 AM
Greg got called for about four foot faults!
Good job, Paradorn!

Aug 31st, 2002, 04:18 AM
OH I nearly cried when I thought Greg would have another meltdown. I hate those damn linespeople. I can't believe they were calling foot faults left and right. What wankers and the Srichaphan fans were getting on my nerves.

But worst of all were how incredibly biased Ted Robinson and Michael Barkann were. I don't think I have seen a television broadcaster actually go in the stands and cheer for one player. Greg was really having to fight a lot of demons out there and I was so elated that the right player won. I like Paradorn but he blasted a ball right at greg and laughed about it and then was playing up the crowd like Jimmy Connors did and I don't care for that crap. But Greg was really nice to him at the net and then let the chair umpire have a few choice words and spoke his honest opinion on air. GOOD ON YA GREG for telling it like it is a la Tommy Haas and for closing out a nerve-wracking fifth set. You had your fans out there too and I am glad your serve-volley and finesse game won. Even Greg's groundstrokes are so much fun to watch with those Patty Schnyder like topspin lefty loopy yet powerful forehands and that wonderful slice backhand. He plays such an artistic old-style tennis and I am glad he bit the baseline power player yet again.

but mostly I am glad he won cuz I know that yet another tough fifth set loss would have been too heartbreaking for Greg and he would have probably cried for days. I don't think he can beat Pete but tonight was a great win. Greg is a great guy; he is just fiery and emotional on the court and his feelings get hurt easily. I can relate to that. Also I thought it was kind of poor sportsmanship for the LOSER of the match to take four bows to the crowd. I know he is Buddhist so I can EXCUSE it but my sensibilities are that it's a bit in your face.

Aug 31st, 2002, 04:21 AM
GREG WON! :bounce: :D :D

Aug 31st, 2002, 05:00 AM
LMAO @ Greg!! He played an excellent match, but his little habits between points are too outrageous!

Aug 31st, 2002, 05:13 AM
Great match. I am very happy Greg was able to come out on top.

On a side note, Greg is so dreamy

Aug 31st, 2002, 05:17 AM
treufreund, I don't see Pete winning Greg.

Aug 31st, 2002, 05:18 AM
I should say rather, I see Greg crushing Pete. No, I see Greg defeating Pete.

Aug 31st, 2002, 05:36 AM
Well Greg has lost 8 of 9 against Pete. Pete will have the crowd on his side and I think Pete has a better serve, better forehand and better backhand with just as good volleys. Really Greg will need to serve very very well and hope that Pete has a letdown but I think Pete is too good and will win.

Aug 31st, 2002, 07:14 AM
Poor Paradorn....he should have won the match!

Aug 31st, 2002, 07:14 AM
Good for Greg! A fantastic match! I hope that he doesn't beat Petey, but if he does, I hope he wins the whole damn thing.

I was a wee bit disgusted with the way that McEnroe et al seemed to be heavy on the side of Paradorn, but whatever, he has a wee bit more dimension to his game but Greg came through like the champ that he is.

Aug 31st, 2002, 02:31 PM

Has he always done this, cause I do not recall.

It was like watching a person go crazy and made me uncomfortable.

I love Greg and was glad he was able to guts out the match in the 5th, but that sock thang....

Aug 31st, 2002, 02:39 PM
Paradorn should of won that match. He was soo much fun to watch play! Soo fast! He got more applause then Greg did after the match which was soo funny! Greg was still yelling at the chair ump when Paradorn did his Budhist bow(?) to the audience and they went nuts! Good luck Pete!
