damn. Bad news. Not sure if so now, but in the begining of the year, Margit was working together with Kaia and her team to improve also her game, but the key for it to continue was that Margit had to improve her ranking a lot for her and Kaia to enter the same tournaments. Otherwise it would be impossible for them to work together. I hope Margit plays some smaller tournaments soo to improve her ranking for her to continue with Kaia's team. Would love to see margit in the Top 50 atleast this year.

So apparently Maria may still be playing in singles here. :woohoo:

I'm guessing Pivovarova and Urszula Radwanska are pretty sure bets for wildcards...

Mirza became the first Indian woman to win a Grand Slam title when she captured the 2009 Australian Open in mixed doubles. She will attempt to have a similar showing in singles playing in her third Sony Ericsson Open.

Dokic made an impressive showing at the 2009 Australian Open, falling to eventual finalist Dinara Safina in the quarterfinals. The former World No. 4 returns to the Sony Ericsson Open for the first time since 2004.
Craybas makes her 10th appearance at the tournament. She first played the Sony Ericsson Open in 1999. She did not appear in Miami in 2000 and then made eight consecutive appearances. Her best finish came in 2004 when she fell to eventual champion, Serena Williams, in the quarterfinals.
