I hope that she extends her run here, as she matched her '08 performance already, so she should be looking for a way to try and defend all of these points. The worst thing that could happen is that Agi plays no events until after Wimbledon and her ranking will fall to around 85, so she really has A LOT of points to defend this Spring:scared: Peterk07 Mar 28th, 2009, 02:50 PM Okay, so Agnes has 1110 points to defend between now and Wimbledon. I hope that she extends her run here, as she matched her '08 performance already, so she should be looking for a way to try and defend all of these points. The worst thing that could happen is that Agi plays no events until after Wimbledon and her ranking will fall to around 85, so she really has A LOT of points to defend this Spring:scared: Yeah, she matched her '08 ytd performance. You're right, the upcoming few months was her last year's peak period, so most of her points will go. But this is clay season, so I am quite optimistic. :) She may not climb up in the rankings until after Wimbledon, but seeing her improving form, I think she has her chances to defend those points - or at least most of them. If she'll do that, she'll have great chance to get back inside the TOP20 by the end of the year, because she has almost nothing to defend from the Olympics and from the entire autumn season. The most important thing is to continue to improve her game, and find a good coach finally. (She and her manager said, that they are working on this 24/7, and want to find a coach by the end of april.) hellas719 Apr 6th, 2009, 07:44 PM Singles Rank: 25-->24:cool: Doubles Rank: 63-->65:yawn: Singles Race: 50-->37:D:woohoo: hellas719 Apr 13th, 2009, 01:13 AM Singles Rank: 24-->24 Doubles Rank: 63-->72:bigcry: Singles Race: 37-->38:( iGOAT Apr 13th, 2009, 09:53 PM I'm not quite sure how she stayed at 24 considering she was defending a Tier II semifinal points, but okay  Hopefully she can make up for the Charleston points in Stüttgart  hellas719 Apr 20th, 2009, 09:28 PM Singles: 32(24) :o:tape::bigcry::sad::sad::sad: Singles Race: 41(38) Doubles: 80(72) :help::sobbing::mad::mad::mad: hellas719 Apr 20th, 2009, 09:38 PM I'm not quite sure how she stayed at 24 considering she was defending a Tier II semifinal points, but okay  Hopefully she can make up for the Charleston points in Stüttgart  Amelia Island points came off this week; Charleston points (220) come off next week I think:scared: It's not that bad now though:shrug: She has Berlin points (220), Rome points (70), Roland Garros points (180) and Wimbledon points (280) to defend this Spring. Then, there's Bad Gastein points (130), New Haven points (140), US Open points(120), Beijing points (70), and then just 40 points combined from Stockholm, Zurich, Linz, Stuttgart, Tokyo, and the Olympics:cool: Let's hope Agi has a good clay court season. She needs it! 1 more week to go:p hellas719 Apr 20th, 2009, 09:40 PM In doubles, she has 220 points from Charleston, 280 points from Roland Garros and 280 points from Wimbledon to defend this Spring:scared: Let's hope she plays doubles in Stuttgart, Rome, etc. where she didn't play doubles last year:bounce: If she is ranked high enough:unsure: iGOAT Apr 21st, 2009, 06:36 PM I'm not too concerned about doubles really, but the singles ranking is :help: About 80% sure she won't be seeded at FO :sobbing: hellas719 May 1st, 2009, 02:48 AM The Boiled Egg has Agi up to #31 now:D But that could change later on this week:( It can't go up anymore. It can only go down:tears: iGOAT May 1st, 2009, 02:52 AM She will move up to number thirty-one next week I'm pretty sure. She has enough to pass Stosur, who is thirty-one, but it's possible someone behind her will move up. Until the French Open, she has 145 points to defend. A pair of second rounds at the next two events would give her 140. A pair of third rounds would be 250. Unless she gets some brutal draws, I don't want to jinx her, but she should have a pretty good chance at being seeded at the French Open. Also, 33 or 34 is pretty likely to be a seed with players like Zvonareva, Srebotnik, Cornet, and Bammer all possible withdrawals. I just hope she can be seeded at the French Open and Wimbledon, after that, she really has no points to lose. iGOAT May 1st, 2009, 02:53 AM The Boiled Egg has Agi up to #31 now:D But that could change later on this week:( It can't go up anymore. It can only go down:tears: Oh, okay... Of course it can go up though... Or do you mean by next week. I have to say though, Madrid seems like a pretty good way to earn some points, so hopefully she can find her game by then :D. hellas719 May 1st, 2009, 03:55 AM I mean by Monday it can't go up because everyone else's points have been taken off by the Boiled Egg and Agi is out so she can't gain anymore this week;) iGOAT May 4th, 2009, 12:38 PM I think she will fall to number thirty-four or lower now. With Srebotnik out, a seed at Roland Garros is ranked thirty-three. That means she NEEDS a good showing in Madrid! Please no bad draws :scared:. hellas719 May 4th, 2009, 07:05 PM She is number 30 this week. Up from #32 last week;) I guess I was wrong after all:lol: Yeah, I agree about that. She needs a great draw in Madrid. Is Vera Zvonareva playing RG? That could improve Agi's chances to be seeded:shrug: Agi is still #80 in doubles:sad: In the singles race, she is #42. iGOAT May 4th, 2009, 10:24 PM She is number 30 this week. I doubt Vera is playing. I didn't even notice she is 30 :help:. I also think she will only fall to 33. She will lose 109 points, which puts her at 33 if no one else around there moves. Hopefully no one will.... #kArLoS# May 8th, 2009, 08:46 PM Now she is 38ª and will fall down even more...:help::help::bigcry: iGOAT May 11th, 2009, 12:06 AM So with this week's rankings I think she is number thirty-nine, but with her win today she is back up to thirty-five. I think she will need the quarterfinals to get back to top thirty-two though so unless Zvonareva and someone else withdraw I think a French Open seeding won't be happening. iGOAT May 12th, 2009, 11:36 AM It looks like she will be number thirty-five now. She could go a little up or down depending on the players around her, but it looks like she will still need one more win to have a French Open seeding , and it's pretty unlikely she'll beat one of these next two. hellas719 May 18th, 2009, 03:07 AM Singles Ranking: 38->30:banana::yeah::D:bigclap::woohoo: Singles Race Ranking: 33:):clap2: hellas719 May 26th, 2009, 12:57 AM This week Agi fell down a spot to #31:( Peterk07 May 30th, 2009, 01:30 AM With this victory over Venus, she's back into the top 30 again. Maybe even Safina. iGOAT Dec 18th, 2009, 10:59 PM Oh Yanina might play qualies  I think she'll probably get a wildcard though, the least they could do for the poor girl. iGOAT Dec 18th, 2009, 11:42 PM So I read Wickmayer won't be getting a wildcard :o and someone probably won't play (Safina, Zvonareva, A. Radwanska in particular have been injured) so that just means 4-6 spots, but she'll still need to reach the semifinals, which is not very likely . hellas719 Dec 20th, 2009, 02:04 AM Yeah, I know right :o Agi :smash: As for Yanina, she won't get a WC because someone said that the Australian Federation would rather give the WC's to Aussies and that it would be unfair to give 2 of them to Belgium  Meanwhile it's not Belgium's fault that they have better players :p #kArLoS# Dec 20th, 2009, 12:13 PM Yeah, I know right :o Agi :smash: As for Yanina, she won't get a WC because someone said that the Australian Federation would rather give the WC's to Aussies and that it would be unfair to give 2 of them to Belgium  Meanwhile it's not Belgium's fault that they have better players :p Well said,Andrew:cheer::worship::p hellas719 Jan 18th, 2010, 06:23 AM #37 (40) :woohoo: mralas Jan 18th, 2010, 02:51 PM :hearts: iGOAT Feb 13th, 2010, 05:20 PM Up to number thirty-two, hopefully she can get to the Acapulco quarters (or better) to hold on to it, a bye in Indian Wells and Miami would really help! hellas719 Feb 14th, 2010, 02:10 AM OMG Agi :hearts: hellas719 Feb 23rd, 2010, 02:57 AM Up to #31 this week :) mralas Feb 23rd, 2010, 04:18 AM :) iGOAT Mar 8th, 2010, 05:06 PM Up to 30 now. Still her ranking is much lower than in earlier years. Which points are missing? 3rd and 4th rounds at Grand Slams and Premier events? iGOAT Jun 15th, 2010, 11:05 AM She made quarterfinal at Madrid and fourth round at French Open, Miami, and Indian Wells last year. This year she started well but clay was shitty. Other than Budapest, she has absolutely nothing to defend though, so I doubt it can get much worse. #kArLoS# Jul 11th, 2010, 01:33 PM #49 after Budapest :) hellas719 Jul 12th, 2010, 01:41 AM Now she can only go up :D mralas Jul 15th, 2010, 01:52 PM :) iGOAT Jul 15th, 2010, 01:57 PM It can basically only get better this year. IF she can win Prague, I think it will go up about ten, but then she would need to have a really good result in Toronto also to get a US Open seeding. I definitely hope she can do it, but it is unlikely. #kArLoS# Jul 18th, 2010, 02:38 PM UP to #38  iGOAT Jul 18th, 2010, 02:49 PM It's still unlikely she will be seeded at the Open though :( she has second round points to defend in Cincinnati and Toronto and is only playing Montreal. She would have to make the quarterfinals at least I think, and even though she's playing well, she barely made the main draw there, so that is not likely. #kArLoS# Jul 18th, 2010, 02:56 PM ^^And why the hell she isn´t playing in Cincy? As far as I know,it´s mandatory  iGOAT Jul 18th, 2010, 03:30 PM No, it's not quite mandatory, just everyone plays. #kArLoS# Jul 18th, 2010, 03:45 PM oh  hellas719 Jul 22nd, 2010, 02:21 AM Agi :worship: But why is she taking so much time off? iGOAT Jul 22nd, 2010, 02:40 AM Probably she didn't enjoy the American tournaments much last year. She has played Montreal just about every year though and probably has good memories in New Haven, so she just wanted to play those. Then she could play Copenhagen or Istanbul I guess, but they're kind of random and she doesn't really like playing Internationals. I just don't want her playing qualifying :o unnecessary way to get tired, especially if she's playing two tournaments right before the Open we don't want her to get all tired then. hellas719 Jul 27th, 2010, 02:26 AM Up to #37 :) sakya23 Aug 5th, 2010, 04:20 AM she needs to get to #33 to get seeded ( since henin withdrew) good luck!!!!! #kArLoS# Aug 5th, 2010, 08:58 PM hi Sakya23 :wavey:,it´s the first time you post in her subforum, right? Just as long as she doesn't get one of like sixteen or so players in the first round it's okay :). Ofen Sep 7th, 2010, 11:24 AM I'm getting to be used to Ági is around 30th rank. I can imagine that she will be in the next years in the 20th - 40th range. I think too many bad form periods and injuries to be better than this and she is too good to slide lower than 40th for a longer period. iGOAT Sep 7th, 2010, 09:24 PM I think she really should be top twenty :o and hopefully higher! sakya23 Sep 9th, 2010, 03:15 AM remember when she was like 12 or 13 in the world? the good ole days. iGOAT Sep 9th, 2010, 03:58 AM Oh god. So high enough to enter most tournaments :). She better be smart enough to play smaller ones though :tape:. And if she's lucky she can get a few wild cards to save her PR for some other tournaments, but I wouldn't count on it. I'm not exactly sure of the rules, but I think she can only use the PR at the AO because she hasn't been out for that long. So she will need to hope the ranking has been raised high enough for direct entry at the French. hellas719 Aug 28th, 2011, 09:16 PM ^Well I'm sure they will give her a QWC at the French Open if she needs one ;) But for now let's just hope she can play again :sobbing: And my sister was watching Teen Mom last night, and I was walking by and realized that Macy, one of the girls from the show looks just like Agi :speakles: iGOAT Aug 29th, 2011, 04:28 AM I HIGHLY doubt she will need a qualifying wild card.
