As usual, all the Asia/Pacific events clash...

I don't understand why they can't have some earlier in the year. :(

They updated the One Page Calendar. But no exact locations and no European events.

It's great but it's a bit stupid that this tournament isn't followed by a couple of 25k in the area. I doubt girls will fly to South Africa just to play one event. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Somebody bite my %&@$ off and I actually have a pretty good chance at a direct entry. :bolt:
Ridiculous, but whatever. Lots of cheap points for girls from the bottom of the rankings.

 There's a $25k in Australia on clay - maybe I should get an ipin and have a laugh to see if I'd make quallies.

That means that if we consider 32 players compiting in the Main Draws, plus at least 16 average in every tournament's qualy, 624 players will be playing matches that week

DutchieGirl
Jan 30th, 2009, 09:00 PM
16 avg in quallies? All ITF quallies are 32 if they can get the players, and some are 128, so probably more than 624 players playing - plus there are also at least 2 WTA tourneys that week too!

I wonder if the clay event won't be in Canberra here, coz the place where they used to have the Canberra event in Jan had clay courts, and it's the only place know of that would have enough for a tourney.

Isn't it the "new" idea that developing your game on clay is better than on anything else? 3/4 of top 100 players are European and they did just that...

I'm pretty sure there have been clay events in Japan before. Different to European clay, though.
