What the hell kind of sexism is going on in this world.

Tommy Haas has a sleeveless shirt on and is FORCED TO CHANGE CLOTHES!

But Venus can wear tube tops with her tits jumping out, Serena wears coochie bodysuits with her ass cheeks bulging, Ashley Harkleroad showed all her good last year, Daniela shows up in skimpy cocktail dresses, Kournikova well we all know about her and Lilia Osterloh has shown more cleavage than any woman and nobody stops them.

Why is it okay for women to sexualize and objectify themselves but the guys have to be covered up? What kind of world are we living in now?

He should follow the rules. It's not the end of the world.

It's about time a man gets busted on disobeying the rules. Go chicks!!

Pretty unfair IMO. First the Cameroon soccer team has to wear sleeves, and now Tommy :(

This is sexism on both parts. Tommy can't show his bulging arms.

Wta players can show whatever they want, because showing a lil body is okay in this Man's world.

Mrs. Guga are you for real?

The real question is why are the rules so vastly different? Fine, of course, he should follow the rules but the point is that women are being ENCOURAGED to objectify themselves. They wear almost pornographic outfits at times and that is okay or even encouraged? But the guys most cover up? This sends a bad message to little girls. And furthermore am I the only person seeing how bad and hypocritical this is. If so then we really have regressed.

Dawn Marie,

Precisely the put I was trying to make. It's nice to agree with you for once (well actually it's not at all the first time) :)

Also it's not that I was upset cuz I want to see "eye-candy" Although it's a nice secondary argument. :)

Life has rules and restrictions. So what! Why?! Because! His parents were in a car crash, that must be a bigger deal for him. I hope he realizes the bigger things in life. The girls get less prize money and the guys have to follow a stupid dress code. Call it even  How's that for fairness?! I think he has it finer thank you

I agree asking Haas to put on a shirt with sleeves is stupid, this is unecessary. You don't need to slag people to make your point.

well sorry but they are pretty extreme. I said ALMOST pornographic. Not there yet but getting close. Again Mrs. Guga I am not upset about Tommy or complaining that he was mistreated. I don't give a flying you know what about him having to change shirts. That is so insignificant. The point was that the women are allowing themselves to be objectified.

why am I explaining this over and over? Slapping myself for falling into that trap.

This is a joke, right ?

Why all the fuss, since Dawn already gave the answer two years ago ?

That's the way things go : if you want some coverage on TV, let the girls get undressed because (it's a man's world) more men are watching and it attracts them, but don't show men slightly undressed (lol, no sleeves), because men are watching and either they think one believes they are gay, or they think really, those guys are really not attractive at all .....

Well !!! I just wanted to play too, since everyine seems to be having fun here

Hey, some of us men want to see Tommy in the sleeveless shirt! :)

And really, why shouldn't Tommy or any other guy be allowed to wear a sleeveless shirt? It would probably be more comfortable in hot weather.

What is wrong with sleeveless shirts? :( I would think they are comfortable to wear on court.

Um I'm confused to the title of this thread, why is Griffin mentioned? Does she have something to do with it?

just cuz Griff is one of our biggest feminists. Those who are asking what the big deal is have really missed the boat. Ahh these kids today. (shaking head in despair)

On the contrary, the US Open gives equal prize money to both sexes. It has for over 20 years.

Men don't want Tommy to show up in a sleeveless shirt because they are already frustrated enough about the fact that Tommy looks waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better than most men.
