Podczas wrześniowego turnieju Pekao Open w Szczecinie przeprowadziłem niemal identyczną rozmowę z rodzicami Jerzego Janowicza (finalisty juniorskich Roland Garros i US Open).

Women's Tennis adds Nalborska for 2012-13
Hokies sign top junior player from Poland
April 25, 2012

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech head women’s tennis coach Terry Ann Zawacki-Woods announces the signing of Joanna “Asia” Nalborska to a national letter of intent for the 2012-13 academic year. She joins three signees that committed in the fall.

“We are very excited to add Asia Nalborska to our program this fall,” said Zawacki-Woods. “Asia has tremendous experience and success coming into Blacksburg. She is a very talented player with a lot of great potential still ahead of her. We feel that she will make a very positive impact on our program during her time as a Hokie.”

Nalborska has been ranked as high as No. 1 in U12, U14 and U16 juniors in Poland. In 2011 and 2012 she won Poland’s Under 21 Indoor National Championship in singles and was a doubles runner-up. She has been ranked as high as 256 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior rankings and received a WTA doubles ranking of 948.

The Warsaw, Poland native is a two-time winner of the Tomaszewski Cup by Microsoft (previously won by WTA’s 4th-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska). She is a five time Polish Super Masters Champion (top-eight players in Poland) and is ranked 44th in the European standings.

Nalborska joins Raluca Mita, Ilinca Stoica and Kelly Williford who all signed in the fall and was tabbed the 16th-ranked recruiting class in the nation by tennisrecruting.net.
