Aussie ace Alicia Molik took the spoils last week in Bangalore, after fighting her way through from qualifying. Can she continue her good form this week? The top girls really need to start picking things up here this week, while a struggling Hingis tries to defend her title. It should be an interesting week on the OWTT Tour!
Serena Williams has made the official announcement of her retirement coming in 3 weeks this morning, she said it was a sad thing for her and for the sport, but that she had to move on to something else.
This morning she said, "Last year, what I really wanted was to be number 1 and dominate the Tour, I gave up PCDs to focus on tennis and I achieved what everyone thought I couldn't, now that's it's done, I just no longer want to play tennis."
Serena said she would still play three more weeks "There is Indian Wells and Miami coming up, even if I never did really well there, I want to play for my crowd for a last time. I hope I can stay number 1 during 3 more weeks so I can add another record to my list of records"
Serena talked about tennis not being fun for her anymore, "I've given everything I had to give on a tennis court but I had fun doing it, it wasn't just a job to me, but with time I just lost my motivation of getting better and better, I do not enjoy fighting like I did before."
Serena will go on touring with her girls, Nicole, Melody, Ashley, Jessica and Kimberley in their Doll Domination Tour, Serena said she wanted some new challegnges and dancing and singing were part of this and that she was glad PCD let her come back in the group.

Defending Champion Swiss Miss HINGIS to retires after Indian Wells
Despite having up and down times in the last 2 seasons, Swiss Miss Hingis has collected only 1 tier I title which is at last season at Indian Wells "This is one of my favorite tournament, I always have a special feelings about this tournament!"
I have lack of motivations to compete lately, especially when you always lose at Round 2, not that good feeling at all, although I have been training so hard, discuss a slight change of strategy with my coach, still doesn't work that good.
I am hoping to retires in the good mark and hoping to win and defends my title.

When Serena retires, her name should be retired like the number 99 of Wayne Gretzky was retired in the NHL. I mean Serena will be a OWTT living legend in 3 weeks.

Finally Nikki beats Kuznetsova. :woohoo:
Nikki will probably lose to the cane swinging Davenslow :scared:
Serena  Dont retire. The same thing happened to Nikki in season one. After losing in the Olympic final she had a lot of early loses and didnt rebound until Season 2 Eastbourne.

Hingis : "a huge thanks to Champion88 who has been a very great tournament director, also good luck for all players!"
Wow!! Tulyaganova takes her first title with style, taking out Kournikova and Vaidisova back to back for the loss of just 3 games! She was really on fire here this week. Vaidisova will be furious with her performance today but she had a great week to get to the final, and is back at the top end of the game again.
