Sorry this doesn't work well with 'copy and paste' from Amélies' Official website.

Basically she's decided to end the collaboration with Loic and Michel Franco (physio) and will announnce her new 'team' for 2009 in the coming weeks. She is, in the meantime, is scheduled to play Moscow, Zurich, Linz or Luxembourg.

Well done Amélie, Loic has guided you to two Grand Slams but I feel this is definitely the right move! Good luck!

I was just relieved to hear there was a new team coming in. It's sad to see Loic go, but I am very excited actually to see what her new team will bring. And Glad Amelie is determined to keep trying with her Tennis. :bounce:

wow.... thanks for the info.

Amelie definatley had the best moments of her career under Loic, but i think i and many people know its time for a change.

So heres to a new challenge for Amelie. I hope 2009 will be the start of a comeback for Amelie to get back to the level she should be.

Overall a good decision by Amelie!

Radical decision but expected and much needed one.Amelie has still the game and the physical abilities to have great results imo so I hope she can get it together mentally and will have some good years before call it a day.

There was a thread on this a little before or after Tokyo:angel:

But I am glad she is getting a new team and hopefully a fresh start next season.

Not surprising really, I think Amelie needs a new team that will give her new directions if she wants to get back up there in the Top 10. She had a good run with Loic now its time for someone new.

I think that thread was just about that Loic wasn't going to be with her for the rest of the year but the plan was they would re-assess everything at the end of the year & decide whether to continue together or not. I think this news, of a definite split, is new today! ;)

I can't find the info on her site. Is this a new announcement, or the one that was made a week or two ago? Because in that one, she said they were parting for the rest of the year, and she may or may not resume with them next year. Is it definite now?

I can't believe I fully understood that article! Looks like my French isn't as rusty as I'd thought.

I think a change might do her good...she's running out of options to rejuvenate her game.

well, maybe she needs a change, as her results since 2007 have been poor.

Glad to hear she's planning to play a lot of indoor events though :) She's good on carpet and indoor hard.

 i always liked to see them together, courteau was/is certainly one of the least annoying coaches. but maybe this is what amelie needs right now. i'm sure it was a tough decision.

As difficult as this decision must've been for Amelie I feel as though it is the right one in terms of her regaining some form in 2009!

Guess Mauresmo needed some kind of change ... I'm all for whatever will improve her game.

Good luck to Courteau in the future. Very curious to see who he will coach next.

Amélie will announce her new coach in mid-November but it's all very amicable between them; both realise they need to move on to something new. Loic says he'll still be Amélie's No.1 supporter.

It's good to split from him, she needs a more devoted and tougher coach.

Loic and team did a fantastic job in helping her to be a champion. I think they did a great job with her.

However, it is time for a new perspective! I hope her new team will be inspirational, motivational, and help to fix that frigging serve. I'm so pleased to see she's going to try something new. Good on her and may she and her new team have renewed success.
