LMAO, yes, Zi and Meng are so gonna be reaching the top 15 :rolls:

I hope Na will make top 15 in 2009. I don't know if Jie has what it takes to make top 15 :scared: And Shuai :o Nevermind.

I dunno Li Na and Jie Zheng aren't exactly young in tennis years.

In terms of longevity, Zheng looks more likely to stick around longer.

I wouldn't mind if Jie or Shuai make it there, but I especially want Shuai to do it!

Since Zheng's breakthrough at Wimbledon, she's been playing like a top 20 player (and her ranking isn't far from it). I hope she eventually makes it to the top 15.

Why do they have to be young? Ai Sugiyama made the Top 10 when she was 28. Players from Asia are generally late bloomers. :)

True, and let's not forget another Asian player who's tearing up the circuit in her granny panties!

Let's just hope Jie and Na stay healthy enough...if they're healthy they could have decent shots of getting there.

I doubt any of the rest could make it and I love Zi (including her looks) but she's not beautiful! Pretty - maybe, but not beautiful.

Top 15 is very realistic for Jie right now. I'd be more surprised if she didn't reach the top 15 than if she did. I like her doubles partner Zi a lot too and she has a great game to watch as well when it is on which at the moment it most definately is not. I'm not suggesting Zi could join Jie in the top 15 but she can certainly play a lot better than she is at the moment singles-wise and I would love to see her back in the top 50 at least. Oh, and I would say Zi is beautiful and sexy and any of these other words that are used to describe a woman who is regarded as attractive looking.

Jie is playing very consistently at the moment. Getting to the deep ends of tournaments and often losing to the eventual champions.

She deserves to be in the top 15.

Well I like game of Na Li too but I vote for Jie. Na Li has still some injuries and therefore I think that she will never be in Top 15 or Top 10 in her life.Sorry,Na Li!

and let's also not forget Shinobu Asagoe who started tennis very late and had her best results a few years before she retired

Na can win titles but not consistent.
Jie is consistent but lacks what it takes to win titles.

Sugiyama made it to the Top-15 when she was 23. She struggled to reach Top-10 because her results at slams were pitiful for top-tenner -- only two QFs in her entire career.

In my opinion 3 of them have the talent to do it!

I don't know what's missing. The Russians have what they don't have but what is that? Because the Chinese DEFINITELY have the talent.

Great tennis schools + freedom to practice and play wherever they want to?

Xheng looks most likely but I wouldn't be surprised if none of them make the top 15. I'd expect her to be the highest ranked player from China next year.

On current form, Jie. But like another poster said, she might just lack the weapons to do major damage.

Jie will be the first, since she has no points to defend at the start of the year till Indian Wells, while Na has title in Gold Coast, 3r Australia, SF Antwerp and SF Tier I Doha. I hope Jie keep playing like this, which I have to say I think she will. If she does, she will stay in Top 20-15. About Na, I think she can go higuer. She has top ten tennis, that's obvious. Maybe after Wimbledon or in the US summer season.

Definitely Jie!
she has nothing to defend early 2009

Li has no consistency
Peng and Meng will never be higher than 30

Na was once ranked 16th, so for her to make top 15 is certainly a realistic goal  She just needs to stay healthy, and it might happen only in late 2009 or even later.

Jie has to do it before wimbledon. I can't see her getting there anymore after those semifinal points come off.

Na has to be less injury-prown if she wants to be top15. BUT 1 good run can do the trick if she does it at a grandslam. She's got the more forcing game of the 2 chinese players and is more likely to upset topplayers. I expect her to be top15 at the end of the year if she doesn't have a major injury time-out again. She's obviously gonna do a lot of damage during the summer hardcourt season... I wonder how she'll do on clay though.
