Normally this is where one wishes one's favourites "good luck" to win. But like most people here I've only heard of five of these girls. And to be honest with the draw Rus has I actually think it would be a little bit insulting to wish her good luck. I suppose I can wish Panova good luck getting past Shlomo (great great name!!!) as she apparently lost to her last year. Ok it was a retirement. Yeah, I suppose I can say, good luck Sasha and Arantxa, stay healthy, as an injury is the only thing that could possibly keep them out of the main draw.

The only thing to get excited about in this draw is the name Dildora

Kristina Benashvili - she is Georgian origin :)

Fourteen-year-old Nigina Abduraimova of Uzbekistan made a memorable debut to her WTA career today. She won her first-round qualifying match at the 10th Tashkent Open upsetting No 6 seed Keren Shmolo of Israel 6-3 6-2 .

Two more Uzbek girls Sariya Khayrova and Shahzodahon Hatamova also made it to the final qualifying round. In the first round played today Sariya Khayrova ousted country mate Nadira Burikhodjaeva 6-2, 6-4, while Shahzodahon Hatamova also out played country mate Kristina Benashvili 6-0,6-1.

Other seeded players in the qualifying draw Arantxa Rus of Netherlands ,Nina Bratchikova of Russia , Ksenia Palkina of Kyrgystan , Alexandra Panova and Arina Rodionova both of Russia also made it to the second round without having to raise a sweat.

Nigina AbduraimovaThe tall and lanky Nigina playing for the first time in a women’s event made her win look easy hitting an array of winners on both flanks. The talented youngster who has just played in junior events before did not give 594 ranked Shlomo any chances breaking her twice in the first set and winning it 6-3.

In the second set Nigina continued her good form making her opponent move all over the court and breaking the Israeli player twice and wrap up the match 6-2 in less than a hour. “I’m so happy to win my first ever women’s match and now I want to enter the main draw,” an excited Nigina said later.

Nigina will now take Alexandra Panova of Russia for a place in the main draw. Panova had a rather easy outing against local wild card Dildora Rakhimova winning 6-0, 6-0

The spectators at the Tashkent Tennis Centre also had much to cheer as the other two girls Sariya Khayrova and Shahzodahon Hatamova also made it to the final round of qualifying.

In the last qualifying which could win them a place in the main draw Khayrova will take on top seeded Arantxa Rus who snuffed out the challenge of local girl Dian Narzikulova 6-1,6-0.Talented Hatamova will take on second seeded Nina Bractchilova who easily overcame a nervous Elena Zenko 6-0,6-0
