I hope Amélie doesn't get discouraged because of these losses to Cibulkova.

Something must be done about that serve she's got now. It's ridiculous the number of double faults she makes in her matches now. It's on average more than 10 DFs it seems.

Good luck Amélie. Don't give up ...

Disgusting loss. She should have won this in straights and was up a break in the 3rd but totally choked it.The end of the match was particularly ugly : no confidence at all and she was so passive.

She's just too passive when it really matters. Letting Domi push her around, and missing easy shots.

I saw this match on the CCTV5 Live stream and it was a bad one. Mauresmo was playing her usual "I play my BH slice and my FH topspin to the T-line and hope my opponent makes the error" game which is even more weak than it was a couple of years ago. Most of her winners were easy putaways after good first serves, hardly any when being in a baseline rally. Her BH is definitely weaker than when she was playing the tennis that made her win two GS and her serve is a mess. When serving at 4-5 in the second set she threw in DF #7, #8, #9, #10 to get broken for the set which is pathetic. Most of her DFs came from the Advantage site when she send the second serve just long. The DFs from the deuce site were mostly netted. Shows she doesnt have the right feeling for the serve these days.

I think her time is really over. Low confidence doesnt help. Definitely not a fan and never was, but its sad to see her playing like this.

enough amélie.ITS ENOUGH.

go and solve your problems, you cant continue like that with that apocalyptic serve.
You have to do something and stop the season.
You deserve better than that.

A lot of people seem to think Mauresmo was going to win this. I really don't see why. Her perfromance at the USO against Pennetta was the worst I've seen her....and she hasn't won since then...

^bibi^
Sep 22nd, 2008, 02:48 PM
Not a big surprise... It seems the only thing momo is still capable of doing is just try to keep the ball in the court and wait for the opponent's mistake.. And at that game, Domi is simply better

(but I haven't seen the match though lol)

well, the important thing is once again she pushed her to 3 sets. Currently, very consistent players like Cibulkova are a nightmare for Mauresmo. Hopefully she'll start drawing some inconsistent big hitters soon.

1st Set Very Controlled By MoMo
2nd Set to the point 2-1 Cibu start to gets into the match working points and a break for 3-1.but her 1st serve creeps out aloud Momo to break back she then holds for 3-3
crucial break for 4-3 second set,But not for long Cibu breaks back for 4-4 MoMo show some Gs winner shots which gave her a bp to go 5-4 but wasted....Cibu Holds then MoMo cracked with Errors and 2 df to give Cibu the second set.
3rd set.MoMo manager just break with that Bh on the line. She saved 3 bp in the her own serve then ace for a gp then 2 winner to wrap it up for 2-0 Cibu Holds to love.2-1
Momo Holds to love 3-1 Cibu Holds to love again 3-2.Cibu break to love 3-3 Cibu holds to love 4-3.thats the turning point which seal Momos fate On her own serve Momo become so passive waiting for Domis to make Ues like 1st set she had 7Gps 3 aces in that game Which she wasted :help: Letted Domi to break on the 6th Bp and hold to love for the match Overall It was high quality in the second Pathelic in the 3rd.Which Momo Chocked so much make it even more pathelic.:o

Amelie, I can't believe you lost to Cibulkova again !!!

I hate to say this but I think she should seriously consider retiring if she continues to lose to these types of players(not that I mean any disrespect to Cibulkova or her fans!!).

she shouldnt have come back so early after her appendis surgery in 2007. This cost her her serve and the whole tennis game that made her the best player.

Sadly I agree  also is very sad to see how a former number 1 and GS winner "dirt" her statistics with unnecessary defeats  . When time is over... is over
