They were both wearing red.
They hadn't won a grand slam in a while. (Longer for Serena)
Lost in the final of Wimbledon.
Former #1

And I'm sure you're (marginally) more successful than a toilet brush; but what's wrong with comparing you to one?

The tournament was fixed in favor of Federer , Serena was a deserved winner

Muzza had to play Saturday and Sunday thanks to those morons called organizers

 The USTA planned that storm moving in? They only scheduled Roger first because they thought the Rafa Murray semi final was a bigger deal. Ohhh so biased.

So when is someone going to try to be smart and say that they're both men?

They also both won gold in doubles this year at the olympics.
Both won their U.S Open crowns defeating their opponents in straight sets.
Both dropping 9 games.

(I was thinking about this earlier.)

Under ordinary circumstances, he would have played Saturday and Sunday. What's your point (besides the one on top of your head, of course)?

I thought about it too... best players of their generation who'd been struggling with for in recent history... both coming back to a high level, plus the olympic doubles and wimbledon final.

I'm was never a roger fan, but considering his struggles so happy he won, almost as happy as for Serena.

The US Open Organizers knew exactly when and where it was going to rain that Saturday and however, they put the most attractive semis Federer - Djokovic first (very suspected) instead of both matches at the time time on different courts , knowing the rain situation and the possible hour of the rain (15 30 - 16 00 ET ) . In addition , Rafa - Muzza had the right to play first cos they won their QF matches before than Federer and Djokovic and that match (Rafa - Murray) was clearly less attractive than the other semis

I don't see how playing a set and a half on Sunday could have really hampered Murray in the final. You do realize these are professional athletes we're talking about, right? Nearly 24 hours is more than enough time to recover from a set and a half of play...

Thanks for starting this thread off the right way. There is no comparison between the 2. Shouldn't ever be, won't ever be... Federer is the GOAT.
