DAniela Hantuchova came into the season two Doha tournament with no major points to defend, her draw was tough her morale was low but her tennis was superb. She would face Shahar Peer of israel in the first round, Shahar was the defending champ and Daniela was ready to fight. The match started extremly rough as the slovak couldnt deal with the heaat or win, the set ended without a game going to Hantuchova, the second set picked up and it seemed like a new Daniela her strokes were extrmely clean and she was acing Peer off the court. Daniela capitilized on her first set point with a nice touch volleyto take it6-2. The third set was very closly contested with Daniela edging it out and winning her center court match 0-6 6-2 7-5.

Next round she face the great Safarova, Safarova and Hantuchova had met once befoire at the Olympics where Hantuchova won to make it to the semis. This time was no differentt, Daniela was hitting powerful flat shots and not letting Safarova get in the match, 2 braeks of serve were enought to solidify the first set 6-3. The next set was no different, though Daniela dfell 3-0 down she rebounded bazck to win. The Leggy beauty batteled off the Chech and won six games in a row nott losing one point on her serve. Next up for Danka is The world nuber 4 Olaru.

What a phenomenal week for Dechy! She absolutely stormed through the field here this week out of qualifying. She lost just 4 games in her last 4 matches, including wins over AO champ and #8 seed Cornet, #4 Dulko, #1 Dementieva and #3 Olaru here in the final - that is just unbelievable!!

Dechy kicked some major ass!
