Quite a surprise, although Mariya was in great form :)
Now the Final of the bottom half should be surprising

PS:
Mariya is supposed to play Doubles today and if she keeps winning she'd have to play 3 Doubles matches today too

Poor Caro  I was hoping you'd win your first title here
But well done Mariya :)

The match lasted almost 3 hours. And tomorrow Mariya will have to play maybe even 2 singles matches

Is Caro playing Portoroz?
EDIT: She is - so good luck there :)

Caro   Hopefully you'll do better in Stockholm :D

Koryttseva has been in good form lately though so not a disappointing loss really.

This is surprise loss for me because this season Caro rarely loss to lower rank opponent and she need to win her her first title badly that why she choose to play here and Portoroz(I'm not sure).

It is a sad loss for Caroline - Bad Gastein could easily have become her first title, but its no surprise or shame to lose to Koryttseva - who should hopefully make another final on Sunday.

Is Caro playing Portoroz?

She is on the entry list as the no. 3 seed, so she's most likely going to play. She has really, really got to pick up her first title in either Portoroz or Stockholm! :p

Is Portoroz hard court or clay again?

None the less, I wish Caro the best there.

BUT. . .

I think that she is really wasting her time oversees.

She really needs to come to The United States, and get a feel of the hardcourts here. I'm afraid she will be in a rude awakening if she thinks she can just come over here in time for the Open and play well.

So i hope she'll win her first title in Portoroz :D (and let Aga win Stockholm :p)

Why did she play just 1 tournament on clay. Completely pointless IMO when she should be concentrating on hardcourts.

Agreed. But it would also be stupid to go all the way to the US to play some hard court tournaments, then back to Europe to play Stockholm(I know she really wants to play Stockholm, because it's so close to her home), then to Asia to play Olympics, and then to the US again. The jet-lag would kill her.

So i hope she'll win her first title in Portoroz :D (and let Aga win Stockholm :p)

In your dreams! :p
Though an Aga-Caro final in Stockholm would be great. :D

not surprising  Caro played on her worst surface against an in form player.

Wait this is clay?

Oh then i don't care she lost!

What are you doing there Caro!!!

On to the more crucial tournaments :) - all she wanted was traning and some match play and she got that :)

Caro is on the entry list for New Haven so she'll have a feel for US hardcourts before Flushing Meadows :)
