After this week she will be probably in TOP 170.

I think she'll be able to reach the top 100, more than that would be too much of a task imo. I think she can play 3 more tournaments until the end of the year(i said i think, if im wrong im sorry) if that's so, it's highly unlikely that she will rise more than that.
Anyway at the age of 15 reaching the top 100 would be quite something :)

by the end of this year, Top 100 would be an amazing achievement!

by the end of next year, Top 20 is certainly possible!

As of this week, Michelle had 127 points. She earned 50 from Stanford (35 for reaching R2, plus 15 points for getting through qualifying). So she'll have 177 points next week, which indeed puts her in the Top 170.
I'd like to think she could hit the Top 100, but this week's No. 100 player has 346 points, which means Michelle would have to almost double her points in three events - a very tall task. A Top 120 finish is more reasonable, as the No. 120 player has 296 points. It'd still be a lot of points to gain, but I think she can do it.

She can play 4 tournaments+USO

She can play 4 tournaments+USO
Thanks for correcting me. ;)

Top 200 just to be safe. I wanna see how she does in her next event and maybe I'll say 120 but 200 for now.

Jul 17th, 2008, 09:38 PM
With a good draw at USO, she can qualify and win a match or 2 in MD so Top100 seems possible.

i picked top 100, but that was before i read that she can only play 4 more tournaments + USO. so im guessing just outside the top 100.
i can see her having a good USO run if she has a good draw (im sure she wont have a problem qualifying)

Where Michelle Larcher de Brito will finish this year?

In most people's shitlist, going at this rate.

Jul 17th, 2008, 09:48 PM
Top 100 for sure :bounce:

She will probably squeek into the top 100 but not by much. As she has age restrictions as to how much she can play, she won't be playing many events. A couple of bad draws and even her chance at finishing top 100 this year is gone. Not that she should worry. She has a good career ahead of her. How good right now is anybody's guess.

It is hard to say - the girl has obviously talent, but she seems to be a headcase too. So as her rank grows, she will be more often exposed in the role of favorite, which may be a tough test for her mental side.

between #90-120

Jul 17th, 2008, 11:23 PM
Maybe 120 is the most reasonable

Jul 17th, 2008, 11:28 PM
She is going to be near to top 100, but not yet in, so top 120!

Top 100 @ the end of this year. She could be a seed at next year's USO if she plays her cards right :yeah:

Jul 18th, 2008, 01:05 AM
aren't there limits to how many events she can play?
But with the right draw she could be top 100 quickly, but that assuming she plays on a similar level as to how she played against Serena. But she reallly really needs to work on that 2nd serve b4 she should worry about breakign the top 100.

Top120 :)

I doubt she'll reach the top 120, she's not consistent, she beat Dulko after Qualifying to a Tier II and the next week she loses to Rolle in first round of qualification:shrug:

Jul 20th, 2008, 05:36 PM
She's going to win the USO taking out Ivanovic first round, Davenport third, Radwanska fourth, Venus in the quarters, Sharapova in the semis, and then Serena in the final coming through 67 76 2220 saving match point on a ball that appeared to be out, but using shot spot was declared in! This scenario is actually possible with seedings and such but let's just wait and see.

She has a very good game and likes to show up against the top players. I hope she does well but as she is limited in her schedule I'd say a top 100 debut would be a bit above my expectations. Realistically, maybe top 120.

I believe she can reach the top 100 already this year. She is going to do an excellent US Open i am sure of it. She is going to play Montreal, Cincinati (if she enters the qualifying), US Open and another tournment until the end of the year. The problem is that she has to defend about 50 points from the ITFs last year. We will see
