OTOH, Ruška (ruska=russian) Jakić is a diva wannabe, one of the fashion pioneers in ex-Yugoslavia, host of many trashy talk-shows like now famous "Ljubav i moda" (Love & fashion). Famous for her mantra - "Every time I wake up I look at myself in the mirror and say 'Good morning, beauty!'"

Documentary on world tennis No.1 Jankovic opens
26 minutes ago

BELGRADE (AFP) — The first documentary on tennis world number one Jelena Jankovic opened in Serbian cinemas on Friday, with producers hoping to distribute the film world-wide soon.

The 80-minute film "Jelena's World" follows Jankovic for the past 14 months during tournaments in Madrid and Berlin, as well as her frequent but brief visits to her hometown Belgrade.

Director Tanja Brzakovic said the documentary was borne out of her fascination with Jankovic, the charismatic Serb who secured the year-ending women's number one ranking with three successive titles in recent months.

"I am fascinated, above all, by Jelena's energy and her being a real fighter: even when it seems a match is lost, she never gives up," Brzakovic was quoted as saying in the Belgrade daily Blic.

The film starts with Jankovic beginning her day as any other ordinary girl, but soon switches to her strict daily regime, packed with training sessions and calls with the press and fans.

"Although a fighter, mentally and physically strong, she is not a super-hero, but above all, natural and honest... and the director recognises it skillfully," a review in the Politika newspaper said.

"She will laugh at herself, cry over sad memories, swear if she is angry, be shy about intimate details, and that is why she is a perfect movie hero," film critic Dubravka Lakic wrote in the daily.

The documentary can be seen in several cinemas in the Serbian capital, while its makers, Talas Film, hope to secure a global distribution deal for it soon.

On Thursday, Jankovic posed as a model in Belgrade for a line of fashion clothing she herself designed for the Serbian company Mona.

"That's just a hobby, and I really love designing. I do it in between tournaments or even during them if I have some free time," Jankovic told reporters.

The outfits -- made of silk, leather and lace -- were designed for "young women who like to be noticed, feminine and unusual," she was quoted as telling Blic.

"So far I have designed dresses, skirts and bags, but I would also like to do a swimwear line," said Jankovic, who herself modelled several dresses at the show.

The biggest hit with the audience was a golden wedding dress, but Jankovic brushed off questions whether she would soon marry her boyfriend, Montenegrin waterpolo player Mladjan Janovic.

"The dress is in this colour since I end this year as a golden number one... but I am still too young and have no intention to marry," said the 23-year old who is yet to claim a Grand Slam title.

STA handed her a symbolic trophy for her achievements.

...

Jankovic was very emotional when she got the trophy from STA and even cried while she was talking about her achievements in this season.

She received many gifts from sponsors and a representative of Novak Djokovic and his family gave her a flower bouquet.

"I'm really proud of myself for all the success I had this year. I worked very hard and fulfilled my dream. This is something I wanted since I first started playing tennis. This means so much to me," said Jelena just before she started crying.

Jankovic lives dream after nearly quitting

Reuters, Tuesday November 18 2008
By Zoran Milosavljevic

BELGRADE, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Jelena Jankovic has achieved her dream of being the world's top tennis player after she almost quit the sport in 2006 following a run of poor results and niggling injuries.

The Serbian knows, though, that she still has plenty to play for after finishing the 2008 season as the world number one but without a grand slam title to her name.

"I definitely want to win one of the four biggest events next year," the 23-year-old Jankovic said in Belgrade's GEMAX tennis club at her season-ending news conference as she served friends and family with cakes and champagne.

"But I also want to keep improving and my objective is to raise my game to a new level because it's a lot more difficult to stay on top than to get there.

"I have achieved my childhood dream of being the world number one and whatever happens from now on, no one can take that away from me.

"I want to stay there for as long as possible and I will resume training at the end of this month after I have recharged my batteries. It's been a long season."

MASTERS DEFEAT

Jankovic, who turned professional in 2000, held the number one spot for a single week in August before surrendering it to compatriot Ana Ivanovic. She seized the crown again during a hat-trick of wins in September and October but failed to put the icing on the cake after bowing out of this month's Masters in Doha with a semi-final defeat to Venus Williams.

She also reached her first grand slam final, at the U.S. Open, where she lost to Serena Williams, and said she was happy with her season despite the defeat.

"Winning (a grand slam) means you are top of the world for two weeks while ending the season as the best player on the WTA Tour takes far more consistency and hard work," she said.

"Of course I would love to win all four grand slam events by the end of my career but the most important thing is that I enjoy my tennis -- it means more to me than all the silverware and prize money I have won."

Jankovic was not enjoying herself during a wretched run of 10 straight defeats in the first half of 2006, when her dream turned into a nightmare as she made one first-round exit after another from January to May.

"I wanted to hang up my racket and look for another job because I am a perfectionist and I need to bring out the best in me whatever I do for a living," she said.

"But I am a fighter and my perseverance kept me going. Deep down I knew there would be a light at the end of the tunnel if I stuck in there and didn't give up."

GYM EXERCISE

The turnaround came at Wimbledon, where Jankovic beat defending champion Venus Williams in the third round before bowing out to Anastasia Myskina.

She then reached her fifth career final at the JP Morgan Chase Open in Los Angeles and the U.S. Open semi-finals to finish the 2006 season as the world number 12, which gave her the confidence to continue the surge.

"Hours, hours and more hours of jogging, practice and gym exercise had started to pay off and I was on top of my game again, playing my best tennis.

"Now I face the tough challenge of fending off a pack of hungry rivals eager to topple me and I am looking forward to it because I want to dominate the WTA scene."

With nine WTA singles titles and $6,940,935 in prize money under her belt, Jankovic feels there is still plenty to be desired in an illustrious career she almost threw away.

"The crisis I endured a little over two years ago has only made me stronger and hungrier. I still have so much room for improvement and that's my biggest incentive to carry on."

The best tennis player finally alone with Mladjan
Jelena on vacation with her boyfriend

Author: M. Radojkovic | 20.11.2008 - 09:44

The best world tennis player Jelena Jankovic and her boyfriend Mladjan Janovic, the Montenegrin water polo player, went on a deserved vacation to some exotic place. Finally free from professional obligations, Jelena and Mladjan are able to enjoy spending time together, but unfortunately for only ten days. J.J. didn’t reveal the place where they headed, only her family and closest friends know it. The secret destination are probably Maldives.

Jelena and Mladjan will be back on November 25th, because her preparations for the next tennis season start several days later. Mladjan decided to miss several games in order to completely dedicate his time to his girlfriend. When Jelena recently came back to Belgrade after winning the world tennis throne, she still had numerous obligations and not enough time to spend her time with her boyfriend. Back then she mentioned that they had some plans.

“Mladjan and mine nice moments together are yet to come,” she said, and during her stay in Belgrade, she disclosed that she fell in love with the handsome water polo player.

“I liked Mladjan from the moment I saw him and besides his good looks, I was attracted by his modesty.. I have never believed in love at first sight, nor that it will happen to me.”

To remind the readers, the fatal encounter of the two young athletes happened this summer at the Olympic Games in Beijing, and their friendship soon grew into romance. The young sportsman from Kotor admitted that Jelena enchanted him at first sight and delighted him by her charisma and energy.

“I immediately noticed Jelena. I met many athletes in the Olympic Village, but Serbian tennis player is really special,” Mladjan said recently.

Due to numerous obligations, Jelena and Mladjan rarely had time to meet, so they mostly communicated on the phone. He came to Belgrade several times (Jelena took him to Madera” one evening) and whenever she had time, she traveled to Montenegro to visit her relatives. After exhausting, but more than successful season, the top tennis player has finally found some time to enjoy her vacations with her beloved.

Love came in itself and it is obvious that both enjoy in common moments.

In Primorac hard not to hit a lot of Janovića absence from the team at the beginning of Evrolige.

- You should rise to such dust around Janovića. Where no, no it can be. He is undoubtedly a great player, but we have the quality and composition without him. Team that is playing against Sibenik for me is the best - said team coach kotorske Ranko Perovic.

However, a few well-known sports does not have much time to rest and enjoy the charms ljubavnim. Jelena has announced preparations for the fierce defense of the throne, and visit the crown in Australia, while Janović, if you want to place in the team Primorac, have as soon as possible to treat the injury and return to Montenegro.

Teniserka planet for the best net! the story of their creation out of court
Red Deer, women's

Everybody knows that Gordon knows that says "tennis language" - and best of all - it was the first players the world. But, in moments of tennis predaha, failed to Municipality from the "Riboka", and creation of their dress.

Soon the haljinice nestajale with shelving, and many obožavateljka (and probably some strange fan) could not come to our unique creation teniserke. J. J. will continue to create, in an interview with "Hey!" Progovorili and "fashion language" - is revealed that her dress dearest, which feels the best and that next season will carry models of the famous Robert Kavalija!

Yellow and sold out (Home fotgrafija)

- My dearest creation. I wanted to create something new, something special when you appear on the field. Originally was supposed to create in a jarkoj color, but we are in Riboku "agreed that we will still match the color most. Modern and look ženstveno it. Agrees with the shoes, of course, and my favorite. This is a collection with a limited number of copies, which is immediately and sold out. In it I won the tournament in China ..

Comfortable, and the square

- These are the same two models. And blue and pink are the standard, traditional clothes, with V izrezom. For me, who always want to experiment and look different, are not overly attractive. I love nežnoroze, in this dress, I feel very comfortable. Flexible and have a sense as to have nothing on him. In svetloplavoj I played at Rolland Garos. I think that we are good, especially when pocrnim.

Dress for medal

- The dress I designed specifically for the Olympic Games in Beijing. I was inspired ceremoniji dodele medal, when you put the bay wreath on his head. Dress is bordered by all the papers like olive branches. I wanted to be something special and interesting, and I got a lot of komplimenata for the idea, and many have said that is not original.

Hot pink

- Fan I jarkih color, I really like red. This dress is something between red and pink, as the Americans say hot pink (hot pink). In it I played a few tournaments. Red brings me luck because I won two tournaments in Štutgartu and Moscow. With it go and shoes in tone, white-red.

A set of distinguishing

- This is a combination of T-shirts, and suknjici šortsa. The upper part of the bretelice. Sometimes I want to be different from other teniserki, dress and replace these compatible. Of course, when you want, required the red color, and šorts and suknjici are not so important. And shoes with red details.

White, underlined

The blue-white dress, I played in Vimbldonu. Vimbldonu the equipment should be completely white, but still were allowed to have some details in another color. I chose to detail that is blue. Dress, otherwise, has a reticulated back strap and I am very pleased. Do not repeat, shoes are, of course, white. Otherwise, the practice not to wear white clothes because, as I said, I love vibrant color.

San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi.- The Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic, world number one, is in San Luis Potosi where she will hold her training camp leading up to her particitpation at the Australian Open.

The world's best of women's tennis is in San Luis Potosi; and it's at La Loma Sport's Center where the athlete will hold her training camp to prepare and try to be at her best at the Australian Open which is held during January 2009.

Although there hasn't been reported much on her arrival, Jankovic is will have to take part in many interviews explaining what she is up to in this city and what kind of sports' events she might subsequently promote San Luis Potosi and La Loma with her being there.

For now the tennis player is already training at the facilities of the Alto Rendimiento Center where she will be during December, thanks to the good climate at this time in the city, the altitude, but particulary the facilities of a center of high quality that keeps getting visited high caliber athletes and that during 2008 without any doubt was on the spotlight not only in Mexico, but the the entire world.

Like in the case of the Serbian Jelena Jankovic, it is expected that La Loma will receive further top class athletes in 2008 like the golf player Lorena Ochoa who is supposed to train at the Residential Campo and Golf Club of La Loma, a center where teams of tae kwon do from everywhere in the world, the American team of swimming with Michael Phelps and the Iranian soccer team to name only a few top athletes.

During the next few days we will learn a few details about Jankovic in terms of her schedule of sports' activities in this city and of what significance training in La Loma is in the sporting world.

I'd imagine that the high altitude makes your body work harder, or something?

Thanks schorsch :D

schorsch
Nov 29th, 2008, 02:50 AM
Yeah sort of, the higher you are the harder it is to breathe, because the air is "thinner" which means everything you do is harder on your body. When you get on a lower level again though it seems super easy to breathe and you feel better than before. Most conditioning (not oncourt play) is done in high altitudes because of it to maximize the time you put in through it. Imagine having to jog around with a rucksack with 20 kg's in it all the time and then when you take it off you feel light as a feather. Well for athletes its worth it.
Also these spots up there high away from pollution etc. also tend to have quite good air quality. Also JJ obviously wants to be in a hot climate atm to prepare for the AO. This makes working out even tougher. Faterer usually does that in Dubai where he has a house with Piere Paganini world renouned fitness coach. Srebotnik also has a house in Dubai. JJ has gone to Colombia, Mexico etc etc now so she might feel good there. Plus it helps that in her coach she also has got a walking dictionary :p. (plus yummy food  )

Jelena loves the camera

Best teniserka world Jelena Jankovic enjoy the lights and stage, after the documentary film about her life, would like to record and film. Očaravajućeg girl smile oprobala to short acting classes and loved to successful tennis career that replaced the large canvas, the role has already been acquired, but due to lack of time did not have time to play.

- I love the camera, to glupiram in front of them and kidding with people with which they cooperate. I say that many stars in the field and outside it, but it is not true. I love Hollywood and I met many American actors, one evening I talked with Jennifer Aniston, Vudijem Harlesonom and Owen Wilson and told me I was a great actress because I am very harizmatičnim - ispricala is Jelena Jankovic.

It is always mood to joke and completely open person, in contrast to the timid Ana Ivanovic, who is alone to recognize. Jelena is very active outside the court, deals with the design of clothing and has been the second time in cooperation with the fashion house "Mona" show the collection for ladies, while Ana only appears in the role of the various magazine photo. Their common enjoyment of music, fashion, beautiful clothing and Make-Up, shoes, which is normal for girls their age. Jankovićeva chooses vibrant colors, with designers "Riboka" create their haljinice tennis, as given to her contract with the manufacturers of sports equipment will expire in the new year, is off to start working for someone else. Maybe for Adidas, which clothe Ana. Jelena out on the field only with makeup on his face, and easy to noktima must agree with her garderobom.

Before the match, make sure lakira nails. It relaxes me, and bothered me when my nails are not uredni - explained Jankovic.

All Jelena talents have not yet been discovered, few people know that it is great imitator, to the best shows when it is found in the role of fine Brene. Therefore, joking with Sasom Popovicem, part-owner Grand production, something that has to do with it in that direction.

A field Jelena is a great fighter, it does not exists turnover (as well as for Hannah). With the audience cherishing the special relationship, often koketira, talk with fans, and it is not foreign to some rest in sudijskoj seat. And these are just some of the reasons why is one of the najomiljenijih teniserki the WTA tour.
Do not be ashamed to show feelings, and fell to the charm of the Montenegrin water polo Mlađan Janovića. To enjoy in the center of attention, but more when dealing with humanitarian work, which is Jelena UNICEF Ambassador for Serbia, as it was with Ana Ivanovic.

Teniserka fifth world nostalgiju Healing songs Government Georgieva, with whose verses rarely play, because you do not actually say to do that.
- I do not like coming out and I was in a nightclub in Basel. I'm not just a girl who likes fun, and besides, very bad play, why we must always be friends! When I have free time, more like to go to dinner with your family or friends to call me at home and spend the evening pričajući - says Ana.

However, most sports fans of Ana and Jelena interest as teniserke. For something more than a month will begin the new tennis season, with great expectation that will open in Melbourne Australijen indicate confirmation of high quality Serbian king of "white sport".

Jelena had pre-2007 training at high-altitude in Columbia. The fitness improvement once the season started right up past the USO was plain for all to see. The only issue from memory, the twisted ankle against Amelie in Doha.

As far as clothing contracts I couldn't give a damn about Reebok, Nike or anybody else. Quite happy for a simple hot pants/vest combination for the entire season ... in all colours of the rainbow. :hearts:

Quickly explode,
slowly contrite

On the way to first place in the ranking list of the best world teniserki Jelena Jankovic all previous years, accompanied her mother Snezana Jankovic. World number one racket, it is often out to support her mother means the most. Only one its "Go, Jeco", it is enough to put her strength to play better.

- I am as wind, which raises the wings your child, no matter what to do in life - Snezana Jankovic said. - I think that parents also need to work to help their children to lift the height to which they want.

* How do you feel in the moments when Jelena injury, when during the match to ask for help doctor?

- These are the hardest moments, when you see that something is not good. However, Jelena is not the easy. I remember, when in Australia played hurt with Mary Šarapovom, I said to her, "Jelena, my son, not to izdržiš, it's not good for you. I said: "I do not want to surrender the match. It is a semi-final. See how many people bought a ticket and came to the match. "And in Slovakia, when he played for the team out in the back, did not want to surrender the match, and was on the edge of the onesvesti. These are the moments we most serious fall. But, Jelena was born fighter and I am very proud of that.

* When the recently resident in Belgrade, Jelena is zaplakala prisećajući is the beginning. Many were touch her tears and the emotions and such.

- I had is 12 years old when he went to the world, and about themselves have to build a defensive wall. Behind the wall, however, lies the vulnerable young people, which is much propatila, especially in time of war - was blurred six kilograms. Left in the world and not know English. It was in an unknown environment, without parents ... I will never forget his statement in the period. Said: "Every night I cry, but I had a dream that I wanted to achieve, to achieve more in this sport!" When the 12-year child to pronounced, I said: No, and you do not like the price paid to the Support in all that you want!

* In key moments mečeva Jelena is prekrsti. Is it religious?

- Sometimes likes to go to church. Baptized in the Church of Sveta Petka, went once and the Village with my sister-in-law, my family celebrates St. Nikola, love to obeležimo and Easter and Christmas, so to keep the faith and its origin.

* Does it a blemish? What you have, as a mother, dissatisfied?

- She admits to react impulsively. Can explode, said that at the moment everything to clear, and that after the contrite slowly because pronounced and thoughts and you do not mind. But, luckily, such situations do not occur often. It is the morning until the evening cheerful and smiling girl, joking and avoid negative society that can crpu its energy.

* How much are you following the daughter, met other teniserke from the top of the world? For example, the Williams sisters, that the audience next to the small screen acting preozbiljno, unapproachable?

- Williams sisters are, above all, great fighters. Are now very experienced, almost fading career, but we have good relations with them. Their mother is a great fighter, which is shown. There are several children and take care of everything. At the same time, their father is a very strange man, although he can help much. Children should be given love to work easier and exercise their goals.

* What Jelena waiting after the holiday?

- We training. Almost all of December will prepare for the new season in which all expect a new victory, first of all to win at least one grain Slam tournament, although its desire during his career, took all four. Season starts in Hong Kong, but the first days of January. It will be team captain Europe in a play where EGZIBICIJA Asia, North America, Europe and Russia. Sanja Mirza will be captain of Asia, American Venus Williams, Šarapova Russia. After that we open to Australians.

ZET Mlađan

VEZU his daughter with the Montenegrin water polo Mlađan Janović, Snezana Jankovic comments to:

- I do not think about it too said, because it is its intimacy. As a mother can say that that is a young man who really decorate the best virtues of superior athletes, the young man who understands how to engage in professional sports. All in all, I am satisfied, because Jelena must have a balance in life.

"Cartier" earring

* What's Jelena themselves pocastio for first place in the world list for 2008. year?

- Earring. Bought "Cartier" minđušice. She likes to buy, but knows the value of money and how mučila to come to him. Jelena is a good child who loves and respects his family, people with the people. That is ponela from home. No negative energy konkurentkinjama not to. One is to motivate better and more. So educate your children, and that's the difference between me and some other parents. It seems to me that many people from the world media to recognize that my personality and to me a price just because of that.

^World No. 1 Jelena Jankovic is in doubt for Sydney's Medibank International in January after the Serbian star revealed she was still finalising her playing schedule for the start of 2009.

After earlier indicating her preference to start her Australian Open preparation at the Medibank International, Jankovic will not be on the official acceptance list, but could request a wildcard to the event which begins on January 11 at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.

“We had some good signs from Jelena early on and she indicated to me in New York that she was looking forward to returning to Sydney,” said tournament director Craig Watson.

“Players often end up re-arranging their schedules a number of times and in this instance, Jelena has not finalised her plans for 2009 yet.

“She is always welcome in Sydney having played some outstanding tennis here in the past; her 2007 final against Kim Clijsters is particularly memorable.

“If Jelena does decide that she would like to play in Sydney, then we would certainly consider her for a wildcard.”

Jankovic has played the Medibank International Sydney four times previously – in 2004, 05, 07 and 08, with her best performance being runner up to Belgian Kim Clijsters in 2007.

The official acceptance list for the Medibank International Sydney is expected to be announced by the end of the week.

Exactly. I mean, Flavia is not even in the same league as JJ, before she ran into a half-dead JJ she couldn't even take a set off her... well, everyone's a critic nowdays, and maybe the interviewer is partly to blame - he shouldn't have asked her such a stupid question

Jankovic focused on slam goal

Jelena Jankovic has everything a young woman could want, but the Serbian world number one desires one more thing - a Grand Slam title.

The 23-year-old travels the world doing what she loves, has her own fashion range, a professional sportsman as a boyfriend and takes exotic holidays. But Jankovic is determined to rid herself of the unwanted tag as the only Women's Tennis Association world number one never to have won a Grand Slam title and has begun preparations in earnest for the 2009 Australian Open, which begins in Melbourne on January 19.

"I'm training very hard, doing my best to get as fit as possible and I hope to be in the best shape ever for the Australian Open because my goal is to win it, it is my wish," she said.

After a short break - two weeks in Hawaii with boyfriend Mladjan Janovic, a Montenegrin water polo player she met at the Beijing Olympics - Jankovic resumed training at high altitude in Mexico at the end of November.

"I had holidays, but they are over and now I start to get back to work," she added. "I started training two weeks ago in Mexico. The accent was on my fitness - I was doing a lot of running, a lot of endurance and a lot of hours in the gym.

"Now I've arrived in Florida where I will be working on my tennis together with my fitness."

•December 11, 2008

The world’s top ranked woman, Jelena Jankovic, is back at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy training before the season begins in January. Jankovic, who grew up at the Academy, was working on her game this morning with her coach, as well as her trainer, Pat Etcheberry. Nick also got out there and gave her some advice on her volleys.

Jankovic looked to be in great shape physically and was really striking the ball well. She looks determined to make 2009 her best year ever!

I think that we are watching new Jelena. Jelena who is ready to listen and work hard to get better results. Jelena in the past didn't like to train, she was in mode like " I play lots of matches, training isn't priority"
Pat and Ricardo made that changes in her pro life.
it's obviously that she enjoy in status of number one and that is essentially wants to progress and without work there is no success

Go Jelena.

Oh, I hope you are right! An on form/prepared/motivated JJ is such a joy to watch. I just hope she stays helathy and keeps this attituted and the results will certainly come. :bounce:

I read in today's ''Kurir'' that Jelena spent her vacation in Hawaii. It was a short interview (printed edition, don't have it with me, someone nicked it from the office before I had a chance to nick it myself - doh!), and she repeated that she's working hard, has an eye on the AO title and all that...

Interview with Jelena Jankovic from the JB GROUP web site
11/12/2008

Q: Congratulations on finishing the year as the World's Number 1 player. The Number 1 ranking changed hands many times – can you tell us your thoughts on that?
A: After Henin retired there was an opening for the No. 1 position and for a period of time during the year we were all fighting for that spot and there were many changes between a couple of girls at the top. But in the autumn, I had a really great couple of tournaments and won 3 tournaments in a row, and I was able to secure the ranking to finish the year as the No. 1 player in the world.

Q: How does it feel not to have won a Grand Slam yet?
A: I'm working very hard and that is one of my priorities for 2009 – to start by winning one of them. I'm practicing very hard to improve some of the sections of my game, to improve overall and to take my tennis game to the next level. I believe in myself and I believe my time will come.

Q: What do you think is your best chance to win a Grand Slam – the Australian Open?
A: I will try my best always – that is the first Grand Slam of the year. At the moment I'm really training hard and doing my best to get as fit as possible. I hope to be ready and in the best shape ever by the Australian Open because my goal is to win. It is my wish.

Q: What have you been doing to get into shape and prepare for the 2009 season?
A: I started training 2 weeks ago. I just came back from Mexico where I was in high altitude and the emphasis was on my fitness. I was doing a lot of running and spent a lot of hours in the gym trying to improve my strength and speed overall. I'm trying to get very strong and fit for next year and to minimise my injuries as much as I can control. And now I just arrived in Florida where I will be working on my tennis together with fitness but more emphasis on tennis. I'm training quite hard and trying to get ready for next year.

Q: No holiday? No break over Christmas and New Year?
A: I had my holidays – I was in Hawaii for 2 weeks before I started training in Mexico so my holidays are over and now it's time to get back to work.

Q: You've been travelling the world for tennis – what's your favourite destination and why?
A: My favourite destination is Rome. I just like that city, I love the culture and the atmosphere and the people.

Q: When you were young who was your favourite tennis idol?
A: I didn't really have an idol but one person I liked watching was Monica Seles.

Q: Do you think Serve and Volley tennis will come back? Now it's the power decade.
A: It's hard to say because it's so individual. Maybe there will be someone in the younger generation with that style of play but it's hard to say. Nowadays players are playing from the baseline and hitting the ball quite hard.

Q: Will this be your first time to Hong Kong?
A: Yes, this will be my first time. I've never been before. I've been to many places in China but not to Hong Kong.

Q: Do you have plans to go shopping?
A: I love shopping. If I have some free time I would love to go shopping and have a good time. I hope so.

Q: Do you think women's tennis these days is very competitive?
A: Yes I think women's tennis is very, very competitive. A lot of girls are trying their best and working very hard, and as soon as we go on the court we all want to win and reach our potential and do the best that we can. I think that's great for the fans and entertaining to see competitive girls out there.

Q: What do you think of the Chinese players e.g. Zheng Zie?
A: She's a great player. I played against her once or twice this year. She is very solid and moves very well on the court. She's a tough opponent to play against.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your documentary movie which came out last month?
A: The premiere of my documentary movie was in November and it was quite exciting to bring it to the Serbian people so they could see how my life is on tour – what I'm like; what I do on the court and off the court; what I'm going through in my tennis life on a daily basis. So it was quite exciting and I believe the people really liked it.

Q: Is it true that one of your dreams is to become a Hollywood actress?
A: I really like acting. In the future when I'm finished with my tennis career I would like to try to do some more of that. But of course I need acting classes and dedicate more time to that profession but now tennis is my priority and tennis is what I do best.

Q: Who's your favourite actress?
A: I don't know – there are a lot of great ones. But one of my favourites is Julia Roberts.
Q: You met Jackie Chan in Beijing – have you watched his movies before?
A: Yes, I saw the last couple ones like Rush Hour. It was exciting to meet him for the first time especially after watching him since I was a child.

Q: You mentioned you do a lot of travelling on tour – has that become a grind or do you enjoy it?
A: Sometimes it is hard to travel around the world but it's part of the job, we have to do it. Every week we're in a different hotel, in a different country. Sometimes it's quite difficult and it can get quite lonely, but at the same time it's very important to have a good team around who travels with you and keeps you entertained, and to always have the positive energy around me which helps me to play at my best and helps me feel more comfortable when I'm on the road.

Q: You met a water polo player at the Beijing Olympics – is it easier to have an international sports player who understands how it is to be a professional athlete as your boyfriend?
A: Yes I think it is very important especially because I travel so much and I'm a professional athlete, so the person who's going to be with me has to understand my profession and what goes around it. I like having an athlete, not in the same profession as me – in another sport, but he understands my mentality, and understands what I go through because he goes through the same thing but in a different way. But I think it's nice to have that combination. Of course it's very hard because we don't see each other very often because of our jobs, but that's the way it has to be.

Q: Water polo players are renowned for their stamina, for being very fit. Has he helped your fitness regime in the off season?
A: (laughs) No no no no! I have my own fitness trainer – I have my own team of people when it comes to my training. He has nothing to do with that. He focuses on his own sport, and he's just my boyfriend. He doesn't get involved in my job.

Q: Has he taught you how to play water polo?
A: (laughs) No no no – not at all. When we spend time together, he doesn't really like speaking about his sport and I don't really like talking about tennis. We have other interests that we both enjoy and we have a good time.

Q: When you don't play tennis, what do you do for leisure?
A: I like shopping, I like going to the beach, I like reading books, and I have to study. At the moment I am at University so when I have free time I have to study. I also have my own clothing line in Serbia so when I have time, I try to draw some of the designs and a lot of other things. This year when I was free or had an opening we were filming this documentary movie, so I'm quite a busy girl these days.

Q: How do you manage to juggle all these things all at once?
A: Sometimes it gets very hard because there are a lot of obligations during the day. But I like doing all those things so then it's much easier because if I didn't enjoy it, if I didn't like it, then I would have a really hard time, but all those things I mentioned I really do it with a smile on my face so it's no problem for me. I want to do it and as long as I'm happy that's what matters.

Q: By being busy does it make it easier to switch off from tennis, and to sit down and design something for your fashion line?
A: Yes. Tennis is my priority but I think it's very important to sometimes get your mind off tennis and do other things, and try to enjoy some of the other things in my life and experiment and experience everything because I'm a young girl. I like to do new things and try different things, and learn something new. It also helps me play my tennis game a lot better because I'm not just tennis tennis tennis all day long. I do other things that make me more relaxed so when I go onto the court I'm more focused on the job.

Q: Do you design your own tennis outfits?
A: I designed a couple outfits such as the one I wore for the Olympics in Beijing this year, and I also designed the yellow dress I wore for the US Open. I hope I will continue to design some of my dresses for next year.

Q: Can you tell us about your clothing line in Serbia?
A: It's of clothes off the court – a lot of dresses. We had a fashion show when I was Serbia before my vacation and it was all about glamour dresses for glamorous events. That's what I've designed lately. But mainly the clothes that I like to wear when I go out – when I'm going for special occasions. It's for the women who like to look elegant.

Q: Who's your favourite designer?
A: I don't really have a favourite one, but I like a couple of them like Roberto Cavalli, I like Gucci. My favourite shoes are Jimmy Choo. I like Louis Vuitton. I like different things – I don't just have one favourite.
Best wishes to JJ and her fans in 2009.

Jankovic has strategy in mind for 2009 season

LONDON (AP)—After finishing the season as the world’s top-ranked tennis player, Jelena Jankovic is ready to concentrate on winning her first Grand Slam title in 2009.

The 23-year-old Serb, who reached the U.S. Open final this year and also made the semifinals at the Australian and French Opens, first took over the No. 1 ranking on Aug. 11 and then again ascended to that height on Oct. 6. She has held the top ranking for a total of 12 weeks.

“My priorities will be on the big tournaments, Grand Slams and Tier 1s,” Jankovic said Thursday on a conference call. “When you prepare 100 percent, when you put all the hard work in, then you can really have higher expectations and you can expect yourself to achieve great things.”

Last season, Jankovic won more matches (65) than any other woman on the WTA Tour, claiming titles in Rome, Beijing, Stuttgart and Moscow in the 22 tournaments she played. But she said injuries bothered her for much of the season, and that’s why she has already started working out to prepare for next season.

“I’m really training hard,” said Jankovic, who started training in November and is currently practicing in Florida. “Before I came here I was in Mexico in high altitude … trying to get stronger and fitter.”

On Wednesday, Jankovic and top-ranked Rafael Nadal were honored as the International Tennis Federation’s world champions of 2008. But for 2009, Jankovic expects to go about her season differently, easing her schedule in order to stay healthy.

“What matters is how fit you are, how well you prepare,” said Jankovic, who admitted she was only injury-free for a major tournament this year at the U.S. Open, where she lost to Serena Williams in the final. “Last year in December, I didn’t have a good preparation before the new season. I only trained two weeks before the Australian Open.

“When you’re not ready, when you’re not prepared, when you’re not fit and playing at a high level … you’re going to have a high risk of getting injured.”

As the top-ranked player, Jankovic is also going to have to deal with others trying to prove themselves by beating her.

“I want the girls to play their best tennis against me and I want to win in those circumstances. I’m up for the challenge,” Jankovic said. “I want to compete in those best tournaments with the best players out there.”

As for simply being on top of women’s tennis, Jankovic is relishing that, too.

“I love being in that role, being in the role of the No. 1 player in the world. I like that position and I want to stay there as long as it is possible,” Jankovic said. “I haven’t trained in my whole career as hard as I’m training now, and I hope and I believe that all this hard work will pay off.”

Jankovic also hinted that she would continue playing in the Fed Cup for Serbia, which hosts Japan in the first round of World Group II in February.

“I am a huge patriot,” said Jankovic, who helped Serbia advance from the zonal group in 2008. “I love playing for my country and defending the colors of my flag.”

Florida

Dear fans,
one of my short call from Florida where hard work and preparation for the season 2009. In the process of training since the end of November. I had no day off until two days ago when I briefly left the racket to rest. On Friday I went with private plane in West Palm will be where I was recording for HBO TV station, as well as an interview for ESPN. Flight from Sarasota was early in the morning, and recording the evening, so I had a half-day free as I used to parents, father and Veselin mamom Snežanom, go to lunch in an Italian restaurant where we enjoy in the specialties of this cuisine.

There is shopping,:)), which never returned empty-handed, without a jot, (shoes, jeans, gifts for others ..), so it was now. After she went shopping at one of the best hair stylists, hair and shortened slightly isfenirala for recording.

I spent the day with adorable parents in West Palm will be, though he was not the colored tennis work, but was not diligent, I use it to do finishing outside the tennis court.

After recording a TV channel HBO and ESPN for intervuja followed by a return to Sarasota, where I have the next morning continued with the training, because time to lose and no relaxation, we have to work! :)) All is well, but tennis is my priority and number 1!

Love JJ

Rating Tennis's Top Looks

Professional tennis players are about more than serves, backhands and forehands – there's also their style, movement and the way they carry themselves on court, and their off-court presence and personality.

Here's an overview of the best looks in tennis in 2008. For the purposes of this ranking, looks are viewed as an overall combination of appearance, personality and style, and fashion sense.

MEN

1. Roger Federer: The long-time No. 1 and current No. 2 player is among the most fluid and graceful athletes in tennis history. Always neatly attired on and off the court, his strongest statement in 2008 was the switch at Wimbledon from his white blazer (2006-07) to a white cardigan, which he wore when he walked onto the court. Neither as formal or as contrived as the blazer, the cardigan was a more solid, practical choice for the five-time Wimbledon champ. Unfortunately for him, it happened to coincide with the end of that five-year winning streak at Wimbledon.

2. Rafael Nadal: The world No. 1 from Majorca has a refreshingly unaffected, boyish air about him, either playing or relaxing away from the court. He has roused interest in tennis in a younger generation with his muscular physique and rambunctious style of play. His mammoth arms in his sleeveless Nike top are a sight to behold and a personal calling card. Now if only he and other players such as Juan Martin del Potro would stop wearing the bare-armed style shirt at all those indoor events. It really only belongs in the sunshine of the great outdoors.

3. Feliciano Lopez: The Spaniard, 27, is just too sexy for his shirt. While he is a fine talent and a versatile shot-maker, his handsome face and toned torso makes him seem less like a tennis player and more like a model who should be sculpted in marble. Also, in an era of baggy shorts, Lopez has somehow succeeded in wearing his in a form-fitting fashion that leaves little to the imagination when it comes to the curves of his backside.

4. Marat Safin: The Russian, who turns 29 next month, is becoming something of an 'older man' fantasy for many female fans of the pro tour. Safin has lost a little of his youthful insouciance but his natural virility allows him to wear any kind of outfit, on court or off, and pull it off with panache. The fact that he is not winning very much anymore does little to diminish the timeless allure of this quixotic Muscovite.

5. Eduardo Schwank: The Argentine, 22, introduced himself to the tennis world when he pushed the host country's Paul-Henri Mathieu to 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(9) in a centre-court thriller at Roland Garros. The little-known Schwank is a rugged “gaucho” who wears a distinctive short-brimmed cap. Ranked No. 58 after starting the year at 171, the long, brown-haired Schwank revels in the roar of the crowd. He enow needs to produce results that will earn him more exposure on the major show-courts.

BAD LOOK: Andy Murray. He has matured remarkably well and now in no way resembles the sourpuss the British media once portrayed him to be. But his drab Fred Perry clothing – boring shades of grey without the slightest whimsy in the design – is brutal. How about adding a little tartan motif for the scintillating Scot.

WOMEN

1. Ana Ivanovic: The Serb, 21, shot to the top of the popularity charts when she won the French Open in June. Undeniably attractive, the lean, 6-foot-1 Ivanovic has a decidedly feminine allure on court. Slightly stiff in her posture, she is a mighty striker of the ball on court and a self-effacing and ever-cheerful presence off it. Whether it was in her “cyan blue” or “neo red” adidas edge dresses, the dark-haired Ivanovic was the scene stealer among the court fashion set in 2008.

2. Maria Kirilenko: The Russian has the best-contoured physique in tennis since her compatriot, the now (sadly) celebrity-thin Anna Kournikova. Kirilenko, 20 and ranked No. 29, was chosen by designer Stella McCartney to wear her signature tennis line. One of McCartney's creations is marketed as being designed “with just the right amount of pleating for easy movement, the Stella tennis skirt will have you covering the court in a confident, sassy style.” With her versatile, all-court game, the pert Kirilenko is just naturally like that on court – and it has little to do with the outfits she wears.

3. Venus Williams: All legs and arms, the rangy 6-foot-1 Williams has a regal air about her on court that pretty well allows her to look good in any kind of sporting attire. She has her own line, EleVen, of modestly-priced clothes and accessories that she wears for her matches. The winsome Williams, 28, may be the paradigm of the modern female athlete – sleek, sinewy and with a wondrous speed of movement that has helped her win five Wimbledon titles.

4. Maria Sharapova: At 6-foot-2, the Russian-born, American-raised Sharapova is a as striking a figure as exists on the tennis court. Her blonde hair and imperious carriage have made her a favourite on search engines around the world. Purposeful and determined as a competitor, she is not afraid to make bold fashion moves – i.e. the Swan Lake inspired dress at Wimbledon in 2007, complete with faux feathers on her back. Her earning power, circa $20 million U.S. a year, says it all about her Q-rating.

5. Jelena Jankovic: The current world No. 1 is not quite as natural a clothes horse as the aforementioned women. Her popularity is more connected to an outgoing personality that has charmed crowds all over the world. With Jankovic, 23, it's not so much the outfits she wears as what she does when she's wearing them – like the splits when stretches in desperation for a shot. That's usually followed by an irresistible smile. The Serb probably possesses the tour's most perfect mix of major-league athleticism and femininity.

BOLDEST LOOK: Bethanie Mattek: The American world No. 39, above at the U.S. Open in 2007, is fun-loving and likes to push the bounds of tennis fashion. Playing in the Bell Challenge final in Quebec City in November, her cleavage was a focal point as she almost spilled out of her top. Had it been during Wimbledon, her risqué outfit would have had her on the front pages of all the British tabloids for days.

Watched it...First time in the history of the show I saw nothing of that "normal life". Sure they've talked about how normal their (Jelena, Marko, Sneki) lives are, but I only saw glamour, fame and JJ in all kinds of extravagant . It was filmed during JJ's busy days in Belgrade - fashion show, movie premiere, reception in honour of JJ...
But Jelena's really cool and down to earth so :worship:.

Win me an AO! :hearts:

Advantage Andy Murray by £100m

Neil Harman, Tennis Correspondent

Andy Murray will start the new year as the hottest property in tennis, with the promise of £100 million from the management companies that are vying for his signature.

The world No 4’s present representative, Ace Group, is in danger of losing its most prominent client as Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a subsidiary of Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment empire that is bursting with enthusiasm to sign him, IMG, the recognised No 1 management company in sport, and Lagardère Group, a French conglomerate with interests in aerospace, publishing and sport, brandish their chequebooks.

There may be all sorts of restraints on such spending in an era of downturns and depressions — it is understood that Reebok, the clothing manufacturer, may be forced to pull out of its deal with Jelena Jankovic, the world’s No 1 woman player from Serbia, because of financial cutbacks. However, where Murray, who has played in only one grand-slam final, the US Open in September, is concerned, the money can be mustered.

What a remarkable position the 21-year-old Scot is in. IMG represents a traditional lure for the top players with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, the world No 1 and No 2, on its books on long-term contracts. CAA has tempted Novak Djokovic, the world No 3 from Serbia, and is the nouveau riche tempting sporting stars to rub shoulders with superstars from stage and screen. David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo are on the same client list as Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg and Will Ferrell (Murray’s favourite comedian, which may be a tipping point in its favour). The Times has learnt that CAA has made a “very good offer” for Murray and is quietly confident that he will be persuaded to join its burgeoning sports portfolio.

Lagardère is the dark horse. It has most of the leading French players, including Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet and Gilles Simon, as clients and has exceedingly deep pockets. The pressure is therefore on Patricio Apey, Murray’s manager, who has signed him up to excellent deals with Highland Spring (a patch on his arm is worth more than £1 million a year); Head rackets, for which he is the new face, replacing Andre Agassi, who retired in 2006; Royal Bank of Scotland; and Fred Perry, the clothing firm which celebrates the centenary of the birth of its founder next year.

Ace Group’s contract with Murray was due to expire, so the Scot would have to have given Apey notice of an intention not to renew in order to have set off the stampede of agencies.

What matters most is Murray’s potential on court, where he has positioned himself as the “next most likely” to win a grand-slam championship, with the goldmine of becoming the first Briton to win the men’s singles title at Wimbledon since 1936 uppermost in the thoughts of the thirsting suitors eager for a percentage of the spin-offs.

Never before has a British tennis player been in such a league, but Murray is not your average British tennis player. From the moment that he first swung a racket, it was clear that he offered something different and his progress through a Spanish academy to junior grand-slam success to his remarkable breakthrough this year when he reached the US Open final, won two Masters Series events, defeated Federer, Nadal and Djokovic (the last two for the first time) and qualified for the Masters Cup in Shanghai marked him out as a special player.

Federer has won 13 grand-slam titles and recently joined the select group of the 300 wealthiest residents of Switzerland, according to an annual survey published this month. The 27-year-old has been valued at SwFr100-200 million (£64-127 million) by Bilanz, the Swiss business magazine.

It notes that since 2005, Federer has been under the wing of IMG, which has tripled his annual income from advertising alone to $35 million (about £23.8 million). At the beginning of this year, the world No 2 signed a ten-year deal with Nike worth up to $130 million.

J B ۰ GROUP Classic, Hong Kong January 7th –10th, 2009

(Hong Kong, December 30th, 2008) In a statement today, the Hong Kong Tennis Patrons’ Association announced the withdrawal of Maria Sharapova from the Hong Kong event.

Sharapova has reluctantly withdrawn, as full recovery from a shoulder injury has allowed her to only start hitting balls just over two weeks ago. She's playing but has not had sufficient training to compete at the high level that Hong Kong demands. Maria announced:

"It's with much disappointment that I have to withdraw from Hong Kong. I've been using this event for the last five years to get match fit and ready for the new season, in fact Hong Kong has been successful in preparing me for the Australian Open. I am very sorry I won't be competing, and I deeply apologise to my fans and the sponsors that they won't see me there this year. I'm just not ready to play against the top class competition in Hong Kong, although I remain hopeful for Australia where I'm the defending champion. Believe me, it's been a very difficult decision, but I only started practicing 16 days ago. I love playing in Hong Kong, and the Organisers attract a world class field."

Max Eisenbud, Maria's agent at IMG commented, "I know how difficult this decision has been for Maria. Hong Kong is a special event for her, she's been competing there since she was 15yrs old and the event staff and team are like family, and there has been no better place to prepare for a Grand Slam. Maria needs to get "tennis fit" now and she's working hard."

Co-Tournament Director in Hong Kong, Mr. Terry Catton said, "We're hugely disappointed, who wouldn't be, but we've known Maria for over five years and we know what a tough competitor she is. She wouldn't give up her spot in Hong Kong lightly and we are terribly sad for her. We're particularly disappointed for our sponsors, our fans and all our different partners but we welcome Maria's comments about Hong Kong, we wish her well for the season and look forward to welcoming her back another year. Tennis needs a fit and competitive Maria."

The Tennis Patrons’ Association will replace her with world class Russian, Anna Chakvetadze. Anna is currently World No 18 and came to Hong Kong for the first time in 2008. She has a career high ranking of No. 5, which she achieved last year, and Anna's presence will continue to make Team Russia a powerful contender for the JB Gold Group crown. Replacing Maria as Team Russia’s Captain will be World No. 7, Vera Zvonareva.

Organisers also revealed that they were in discussions with Martina Hingis, former World No. 1 in both Singles and Doubles, to come to the JB Group Classic to compete in the Doubles Event for Team Europe.

The JB Group Classic is a world team event featuring Europe, Russia, Team Americas and Asia Pacific. Heading up these teams are World No 1 Jelena Jankovic, Wimbledon Champion Venus Williams and crowd favourite Zheng Jie from China. A total of 12 players make up a star-studded field.

JELENA remains without a RIBOKA

Known manufacturer of sports equipment for the world financial crisis odustaje most of the cooperation with the best teniserkom world!

The best the world teniserka Jelena Jankovic and world famous manufacturer of sports equipment "Ribok" will most likely end cooperation! The reason is simple - the world financial crisis, which has caused significant loss of business.

The contract that was signed early last year, or more accurately in March, expires in the night between 31st December and 1 January and by all odds will not get to overtime. "Ribok" is, or, even a few years in financial crisis after a series of bad business moves and miss, after which they were in 2005. Redeemed German giant "Adidas" for 12.8 billion dollars.

Jeleninog negotiations between the team and the "Riboka" take place under Veli secret but some time and until now there was no indication of progress. Namely, when the Jankovićeva signed the first contract with them, only began to break down the top of world tennis, so that the financial part was not large, though never known what is in fact. Of course, now that the time has come to podvuče dash, the first racket world is in far better position, that is, to dictate terms.

However, in the whole story put the current world financial crisis, which affects all aspects of industry, and thus the sport. Negotiating process is difficult and both sides use different ways to get more, so that is a decision that came from "Riboka" could be a tactical move fraudulent withdrawal in order to tightening situation.

Of course, such a move can be expensive to much "Ribok", as the Jankovićeva now "hot", that is, many sports companies voleo bi to see in his flock, "but also did not know that. Although it is already good person throughout the world and besides being a top athlete, and looks great and knows to behave according to the status of the stars, Jelena has a problem. In fact, the marketing database it is thin because it comes from these areas. And, if you do not become a truly global brand, as in it managed a combination of sports success and glamuroznim appearance Ana Ivanovic, you will have serious problems to sign a lucrative contract. At the same time when the water war with Ribokom, "Jelena the water, and negotiations with the" Prince ", whose racket Srpkinja used, and because the contract with them will expire in a new year. About this there is no s just no news, a media and public will be able to find something only 1st januara. January.

Author: Tatjana Dragojevic | Photo: beta-AP | 31.12.2008. - 05:00

Probably no person in the world that is not heard of Jelena Jankovic, the best tennis player. Queen smile or WTA ranking-list is marked in 2008. as deveta players in the history of the white sport, which is the season ended in the first place. In addition, the International Tennis Federation declared it the best igračicom in 2008, as well as our Tennis Federation, which is done and Olympic Committee. It is the most influential Serbian women in the world, and our list declared by the person and year.

"Blic" award for the person of the year only one in the series in your career, how are you getting along in many compliments?

- Awards and compliments have an incentive to continue to work hard, make more top results and justify the recognition, but to come and new - says at the beginning of talks Jelena Jankovic, the best tennis player.

To say so, the season of dreams is behind you. That moment in 2008. year is still the most beautiful?
- You are right, 2008. is really the best years in my life. There were so many unforgettable moments on the professional and private level. I do not know what was better, if winning the tournament to tournament,Time spent with people I like, recording videos for my sponsors, socializing with
supporters, Belgrade premiere film about my life ... And, of course, the number one place. Uh, really, what year?

This is the first time that preparing for the new season very hard, and how you go discipline?
- I am satisfied, try to give the maximum every day. Although we are training very hard, good feel and nothing is not difficult, because of work and effort no good results. Much more time sanctify kondicionim training and feel stronger.

What would you like to happen in the professional, and what the private plan in the new 2009?
- The most important is that I'm healthy. I was to win grend slem, and I hope to win Australijen open for start :D. Private, all I want to be healthy, happy and happy, as we have now. In addition, to have time to do fashion, perhaps to record a romantic comedy ...

And who to?
- With George Clooney, Keanu Reeves ...

When you first kiss for the new year?
- After long time, New Year i will celebrate in Belgrade. I will kiss who at the time was to be next to me ... Previous years, because of the tournament, I was constantly traveling. New Year's night, I usually carried in the aircraft. During these flights we prelazili from one to another time zone, so that we have in a few hours several times odbrojavali departure of the old and the arrival of the new year.

Did you tennis experts cost more now when you're number one, or no change in this respect?
- Not a small thing will be the first in the world, only a small number of tennis players achieved in the history of what I am able. I got the congratulations of the people who are the names in world tennis and I'm glad. On the other hand, now all the more track and analyze my game and strokes, but I do not mind.

Emphasizing you contracts with sponsors "Reebok" and "Prince. Who will cooperate in the future and for that amount?
- My agency, which takes account of that made some fantastic moves. But it must remain a surprise to 1st January 2009.

Life of professional tennis is always interesting, and that is najluđa thing that happened to you in life?
- There were really a lot, but the mischief with my brothers have najluđi and dearest.

That you have in the meantime learned to cook?
- I really enjoy the food and it is not difficult to make a delicious meal. I'm not bad at it. If I had more time, I am sure that everyone enjoyed my specialties.

How is it going fakultet?
-Tennis obligations we do not allow the school posvetim to the extent where I wanted. I think that education is very important in the life of one person. I will be eternally young and engage in sports. I'm a real person, and stand firm feet on the ground, and I think the "life after tennis." I would like to do acting, fashion, but this does not mean that before this should not get a diploma, and in another area. So whenever I have free time to spend with the book, because I was one of the greatest desire to win in the field of management knowledge and a diploma.

In addition to all these obligations, you stay a little free time?
- And a lot of reading, among the dear people, telephone, create. And, of course, go to shopping.

When will you come again in the "Blic" in the coffee?
- I hope that we will soon see!

Jelena's card
The best the world teniserka Jelena Jankovic greeted all his fans and readers of "Flash" poželevši them happy holidays.
- Happy New Year to you and Christmas holidays! I wish you all health, happiness, love and prosperity. I want to 2009. be years and years and years of Serbian athletes victory, which we all rejoice.

Big research, "TNS Media Galupa" and "Blica"

Jelena Jankovic person of the year

The rank-list for the person and the event and for najplemenitije work, which here is, are the result of actions which, as in previous years, led the "TNS Media Galup" and "Flash". Name of action is "Number 1 in Serbia, and its basic idea is to label the most awards on the basis of the court people.

All the first place, as well as the order of the tables, some are based on the results of public opinion, which are included in adult inhabitants of Serbia, which was conducted in late November and early December 2008. on a sample of 1,000 respondents. The choice is worked by the editorial board "Flash" compiled extensive list of personalities, events and noble work, and then in the poll, "TNS Media Galupa" respondents selected one of the suggestions that are believed to be flagged past year. That the proposals were good and warmth and the fact that all three lists were only about one percent of those who were not answered.
How is it common for the end of the year, have already made similar choice of the best, based on the decisions of the jury, news and other associations. This action has had a similar aim - to support stremljenje to the best and najplemenitijem, whether it comes from individuals, companies or organizations, but by the court based on the people, it seeks to strengthen the position of the ordinary man in the general distribution of honor and reputation which is sometimes prenaglašen influence of powerful business, political and other lobbies.

Person NUMBER 1
Jelena Jankovic 29%
Novak Djokovic 28%
Ana Ivanovic 12%
Milorad Čavić 10%
Boris Tadić 4%
Vlade Divac 3%
Nenad Zimonjić 3%
Nemanja Vidić 2%
Tomislav Nikolic 2%
Vuk Jeremic 1%

While Jelena Jankovic Gordon has a small advantage
in relation to Novak Djokovic, it might be fair to say that the two tennis players shared the first place. I passed the next two places are athletes, and only the fifth is a politician. Since the first ten places on the list, seven belong to the athletes and three politicians. However, politicians have together won only 7 percent of the votes, and 12 times more athletes - 86 percent. The remaining six percent is divided between the 14 traits, while one percent of respondents gave no answer to this question.
It is interesting to see what were the previous election figures, who are also in the polls, "TNS Media Galupa" and "Flash" provided the citizens of Serbia. In 2007. the name of the person convincingly won Novak Djokovic, who won 26 percent of the votes, twice as much of the second Mary Šerifović. In addition, the list was significantly šarenija but this year: it was on the four athletes - the winners were Đoković Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic and Vlade Divac, then there are the three politicians - Vojislav Seselj, Boris Tadić and Vojislav Koštunica, two with show - Mary Šerifović, Zdravko Colic and svešteno one person - Patriarch Pavle.
This year and last year's ranking on the list for the personality of the year reflects the major changes in relation to the nineties and especially in the transition between two centuries and the millennium, when they are on the list by far dominated politicians. So in December 2000. seventy percent of those who have decided for the personality of the year zaokružilo name a politician, and among the top ten there were no athletes. Similarly, it was in 2001, although it is already the years forebode great Twilight political idolatry.

Intervju - Jelena Janković, najbolja teniserka sveta Interview - Jelena Jankovic, the world best teniserka
I Am the BEST, I don't care what others say!
Touch me comments that I undeservedly first in the world because not won any grend Slam. Moreover, the question of the day when I take the trophy and.If Ana is tournament rules, will not participate because I have other obligations.
http://i43.tinypic.com/14mtbfl.jpg
Jelena Jankovic, the best teniserka today, will be put to sleep on the success that is achieved in 2008.year, but sent to the same pace continued in 2009! Jelena says that it is only a matter of days when you will win the first grend Slam title in her career and thus finally stop his mouth all critics, but added that there will not neglect your private life, which recently found water-polo players Mlađan Janović!

In an exclusive interview to our New Year list, Jelena did not want to specify which of the four biggest tournaments in the world first win, but it was discovered that certainly will not.If, namely, Belgrade really get the organization WTA tournament in 2009, Jankovic will have to be observed ...

What to extract the most experience you've experienced in 2008. year, out of the tennis court or on it?

- Really this year was special for me, so many good things happened to me. First place in the world, osvojeni tournaments, in the end, and love ...Would not be fair to emphasize something.

According to some previous statements, but also to your games of the Pekingese hither, is that you link to Mlađan Janović unusually good. How much is difficult to maintain such a connection, and whether it was possible to do Mlađan and I did not athletes?

-Of course, it is important that he is an athlete, because much easier to understand my responsibilities. However, the most important is that when a man really and sincerely wants to, there are no obstacles.Patience and understanding are parts of my character and I am happy that they own.

More times you repeat to you is the primary goal in 2009.year to win the first grend Slam titles in his career. For you of the four tournaments special form of time, and that most of these tournaments is your style of play?

-Sincerely, I do not have a favorite tournament, or think that I am destined for a special surface. For each tournament will be as it is not the most important. This I believe, and to me it led to the first place.

Teniserka not the first to climb in the first place WTA list without previously won a grend Slam tournaments. And, again, only you mentioned the "sin". In how you interrupt such attacks?

-Do not pay attention to and do not experience such comments as attacks.Everyone has the right to think what will, but the facts show that I am the first in the world and for a long time, since the end of the summer. So something can not be accidental.I am in myself and believe that the question of the day when some of the Grand Slam tournaments to be my.

In the event that management Ana Ivanovic really get the organization WTA tournament in Belgrade, I plan to participate in it?And if you someone from the general management Aninog contacted this occasion?

-There is one big problem with the tournament, when my participation in the issue. Namely, it will be held at a time when I have other obligations, which are planned in advance and can not be corrected in the calendar. Thus, unfortunately, was last year.

To become what you become - the best teniserka the world - presumably to you during these years have to odričete many things. When one day you stop actively practiced tennis, what will make up first?

-We are not to disclaims things that make this life ljepšim. Maximum enjoy any free time.Although a lot of train travel and, I do not think that much different from my peers that are not dealing with professional sports.I do not think I missed anything because I have dedicated my life tennis.

How serious is your ambition to one day become an actress? Can you, in fact, to imagine yourself on a large canvas, but not in the role of Jelena Jankovic, but how to interpret another person?

-Can, why not ...I was when I was small. But tennis is my first and greatest love.At least for now. When you finish a toy career, see ...

How, according to your estimation, have a list of five best teniserki of all time?

- Billy Jean King, Stef Graf, Martina Navratilova, Monica Seles and Chris Evert.I think that they are marked previous history of tennis.

JELENA NO GAME FOR SERBIA IN FED Cup?

Snezana Jankovic, Jelena Jankovic mother: My daughter would always performed for their country, there is no dilemma, however, there are some complications before the match with Japan. Nadam se, ipak, da će sve biti u redu I hope, however, that will all be OK

Jelena Jankovic could not play for Serbia FED Cup team against Japan 7th and 8th February in the "Belgrade Arena"!

Namely, the mother of the first teniserke world Snežana told Press that there are "some complications" in connection with Jelena performance, because some people from the Governing Board Teniskog Alliance of Serbia, "do not think in the right way."

It is, however, added that all could be completed in the best possible way.

- As for my daughter, that there is no doubt that you will compete for their country. Until now, only one had to reject the call, and in the period when he had problems with form and when it is even razmišljala to withdraw from tennis. And, for Serbia is given and the heart and soul and health! However, there are certain complications that can easily be removed. I hope that the Tennis Federation of Serbia to overcome, and with the help of Jelena management agencies "ING". The topic is very ticklish, because there are people in the Board of Directors TSS-who do not think the correct, realistic way to value the players deserve, a not to work with sympathy or antipathy. I would like to people who are not from tennis, but sat in the Board of Directors, pokvare the love that she gaji to the team - says Snezana Jankovic.

She confirmed writing Pressa that contracts with Ribokom "and" Prince "expired 31st December, and will not be extended. Snezana Jelena Jankovic says that management team is currently negotiating with other manufacturers of equipment and rackets.

- Contracts with Ribokom "and" Prince "have been completed and is now leading the negotiations with interested companies, and has them all. Literatim all this and it is very difficult to make the right choice. Negotiations between the leading three sides. Jelena is its managerial agency "ING". Data are confidential, but can you discover that the company signed a contract with my daughter about the equipment and even invest 33 million dollars in the global campaign. Of course, Jelena contract is less than that and there is no What can be hidden - emphasized Snezana Jankovic, adding that Džej Džej with new equipment debitovati the Australijan open, while the new racket arrive later in the season.

From Blic...
http://www.blic.rs/sport.php?id=72775

međutim, Jankovićeva je juče pored sebe imala crnu „vilson“ torbu u kojoj su bili neotpakovani reketi. A kada ih je Džej-džej uzela u ruke i sa njima odigrala nekoliko poena, sve je postalo jasno.

So, I guess it's Wilson!

As for Fed Cup it's all about money, but I think they'll sort it out in the end.
