:worship: That was good tennis from both, you could tell they both wanted it so bad, but Venus took more chances and played fearless. She never looked in doubt.

establishes herself without a doubt now as the best grasscourt player of her generation with:
an overall grasscourt W/L of 90%,
defending her title for the second time this century,
winning the tournament without dropping a set, and
beating the only other player who has ever beaten her in the final!

7 grand slams! 5 Wimbledons! 5 is a milestone.

This is the first time she has won without dropping a set but most of all I'm impressed with how level headed and strong willed she was. She kept it together against Serena like she never has before at this level!

I'm really proud of her! I hope they can both go on and play excellently the remainder of the year.

Rest up ladies and be ready to fight in the doubles final! Can't wait for that! I hope the press doesn't keep them too long!

Congrats Venus.
That was one of the best speeches I have heard in recent years. It was very cute.

On a side note my mom doesn't watch tennis so she has no idea who the commentators are but I was watching he match and she asked me who was the man commentating the match because he sounded so annoying and I had to inform her that it was Mary Carillo.

In the oncourt interview, she was asked about how tough must be on her parents and family, cause they don't know who to root for.

Venus said: "I'm sure they were rooting for me"

I can finally post something again, I had no access to internet the last couple of months
But I have seen Venus“ amazing run to the finals. I am so happy that she won her fifth  Wimbledon title.
Simply amazing!

I really tought that Serena was going to win, because she seemed to have the upper hand on the serve and I knew she wasn“t going to hold back against Venus. But Venus surprised me, she fought really hard as well and showed what she“s made of. She coped better with the windy conditions and just kept going. Serena got a little bit down on herself. I think she just realized that on this surface Venus is the best. I see Venus equal Steffi“s record and maybe even pass it. It“s just awesome the way she can turn it on when she plays on grass.
I hope she can carry this in to the rest of the year.

Venus really is the best grasscourt player of her generation and nobody can beat her on it when she“s at her best. I think Serena is the better all surface player obviously and that her best surface is hardcourts fast and slow. It would not surprise me at all if she won the Us Open this year.
