View Full Version : Jelena in 25K Stuttgart

Jelena is the fifth seed (awesome to see her seeded again!) and she plays Veronika Chvojkova in the first round, then either WC Kyser or Seigemund. Her seed in the QF would be Sandra Martinovic. It's a pretty good draw for Jelena, hopefully she can get another good week in!

Good win Jelena. Hopefully she can make it a little easier on herself in the future and not let the first set get away from her. She still won 4 games in that first set, so it's really just a matter of staying focussed and not falling away in intensity. Good luck for your next round Jelena. Ok, here are the projected rankings, remembering she gained 4 points last week that are yet to be added - bringing her total before Stuttgart to 125 points.

R1: 125.00 + 1.00 = 126.00 (223-225)
R2: 125.00 + 4.00 = 129.00 (219)
QF: 125.00 + 7.00 = 132.00 (216-218)
SF: 125.00 + 12.00 = 137.00 (207)
F: 125.00 + 17.00 = 142.00 (202)
W: 125.00 + 25.00 = 150.00 (195)

This is going off the rankings as of June 23.

Jelena could make the top 200 with a tournament win, and could also just make it with a final - depending on how those around the 200 mark did at Wimbledon quallies. She really needs to start rising the level of the tournaments she plays because now, even if she wins the event, it's not making as much of a dint in her rank as it did when she was around 400. Hopefully once she establishes a Top 200 ranking, she might go on to bigger and better things...
