Well she's been getting more games each time, so well done. :tape:

She's been extremely unlucky. Depending how you look at it though, this has been her best yet.

At least it's not a Top 5 seed this time.

It's sad news when Vera Zvonareva is the best draw you've gotten in a year of slams haha

Hey, it's not that bad at Wimby. Vera lost to Makarova - she could lose to Aiko too. ;)

i cant believe you are putting zvonareva up with kuznetsova, henin & ivanovic :haha:

what about poor naomi cavaday! the british wildcard drew sugiyama 2 years ago, hingis last year, now venus this year!! now that is harsh

Vera is obviously not at the same level at the other 3, but she's a fine player and #8 in the Race.

As for Cavaday I never feel bad for wildcards. If there were any players I'd root to play top seeds in opening rounds it would be them.

She took a set from Hingis, that was good. I remember watching a bit of it. :)

well the sugiyama of two years ago was better than what she is today obviously, and she get did beat hingis in the 3rd round that year. and considering cavaday's rank and age at the time, it still wasnt a very nice draw

as for namakmura, this draw certainly isnt impossible. Zvonereva recently had a terrible loss to makarova, and nakamura is know for being quite a solid player whos level rarely changes. If zvonareva is having an off day (like the zvonareva of 2005/6), i think she could be in with a chance.

Having said all that i still think zvonareva will win in 2

She won a set against Zvonareva. So every GS she is better.
And she is still alive in the 3rd set!
