I'm pretty optimistic. I don't think we are going to get a lot of rain next week at all. Should be partly cloudy/ partly sunny for the most part. Ideal weather.

Really, at this time of year in the UK you can't always go by the forecasts!! hahah :tape: I have been checking the Met Office web all week...and they predicted rain in Eastbourne for last sunday, monday, wednesday and thursday...and so far the weather has been lovely there!! I even have the tan to prove it!! hahaha ;) :hearts: (Today, my friend has said it's beautiful sunshine there this morning)

As for Wimbledon....it's always difficult to predict!! hahahha :help: I live in London (about 40 minutes drive from Wimby) and really the best thing to do is look at the sky, check the clouds...guess the weather.....carry some sun lotion............and carry an umberella too just to be on the safe side!! hahahhaha ;)

lol all us tennis fans become weather experts at this time of year!! hahah :p

How is that? They are putting a roof on centre court, but nowhere else. It's just one of those unfortunate things fans have to deal with.

All you can do is take off your coat, put down your umbrella and sing...

Humidity is rising - Barometer's getting low
According to all sources, the street's the place to go
Cause tonight for the first time
Just about half-past ten
For the first time in history
It's gonna start raining men.

It's Raining Men! Hallelujah! - It's Raining Men! Amen!
I'm gonna go out to run and let myself get
Absolutely soaking wet! [no pun intended]
It's Raining Men! Hallelujah!
It's Raining Men! Every Specimen!
Tall, blonde, dark and lean
Rough and tough and strong and mean

Looks like wet, cool and unsettled weather for the next few weeks. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/monthly_outlook.shtml

Sunday 22 June 2008 to Saturday 28 June 2008

"Brisk westerly winds to finish the month."

A weak area of high pressure is expected over the south of the country whilst low pressure moves away towards Scandinavia. This will leave the British Isles in a brisk west to northwesterly airstream across the south with lighter winds in the north.

Temperatures will again tend to disappoint, reaching average values in the south of both England and Wales but remaining low further north.

Rainfall totals are expected to be above average, with a consequent reduction in sunshine totals for some. It, however, isn't all bad news Some eastern and northern parts could see a little more sunshine than usual.

Sunday 29 June 2008 to Saturday 12 July 2008

“Ridge persists in the south but it will be cool.”

Still no significant heatwaves or prolonged spells of settled weather are anticipated. Higher pressure will try to hold on across the south of the British Isles but west to northwesterly winds will continue to dominate. Rainfall totals could well be above or even well above average.

Wimbledon would not be Wimbledon without the rain...I love rain delays at Wimbledon, they're part of the tournament...

plus, you get to see replays of old matches featuring players who were before your generation, which I think is great

for example, last year I got to see the whole of the 1977 Wimbledon final between Wade and Stove...it was a beautiful thing to see a british woman win wimbledon...

also, all the little mini documentaries the BBC do on players past and present are really interesting

thank god for the BBC, and thank god for the rain!!

:bounce::bounce:

bring on the rain!

Thats a very good point!

If there is a rain delay at any of the other Grand Slams they will more often than not show a long, boring mens match. But at Wimbledon, they are prepared for rain delays and because of this they usually show some classic matches from the past few decades! They are far more entertaining than watching a live mens match thats for sure :p

If the wimbledon organizers wake up and dump the stupid traditions.(no sunday plays, dress codes, etc etc etc.) then i can live with the rain delays.

While I disagree with you on most of your posts, I certainly disagree with you here

I think that Wimbledons history makes it one of the worlds most inconic sporting events

I agree. It's just retarded. Wimbledon is shit.

But then they have to sell the tournament, and the whole "tradition" crap is part of the marketting game.

:D !!! (If I could make that smiley any bigger at all I would!!) (But I don't want to tempt fate at all... :scared: )

I am going to Wimbledon on Monday and I'm SO hoping it will not rain (I've been avoiding any weather forecasts!) - I just don't want to contemplate the thought of rain... *shudder* I don't know - the weather can come to some sort of agreement within itself, I think... (There's me, with the orders here... ;) )
