We are very sorry to inform everyone that Mary Pierce, the winner of the 1995 Australian Open and the 2000 Roland Garros is not able to participate the Gaz de France Grand Prix in Budapest.

Pierce was to return to professional tennis in Budapest (where she would have been on the Main Draw of course as a Silver Exempt Player) after two years without the game but recently informed us that she has to withdraw due to her continuing knee injury.

 I didnt know Mary was planning to comeback in 2 weeks! Pity she isnt ready yet... Returning to a low Tier clay event would've been perfect for her.

It just seems that she won´t return forever. Just like Capriati.
Why not officialize the retirement?

Like her, though.

Neither did I, wasn't she supposed come back at RG in the first place? Then I saw her in the commentator's booth at the French and I thought she has put off her return indefinitely

Anyway, it would be great to have her back, she's one veteran who can easily make a successful return :D

Too bad, really. I'm very curious to see how good she still is.

I didn't know she was playing there, she didn't even mention it while commentating RG. They were talking about the Olympics and that she wasn't sure to be there. No surprise.
