Curse of Wimbledon for Momo. She hasn't done anything since.:o

It has more to do with her questionable choices like her summer break last year or the fact she keeps Courteau as coach:p

She might retire if she doesn't do well in Wimbledon, and it seems very likely given the circumstances.

Momosapiens I don't think there's any need to worry til we hear what Amelie has to say. I doubt it's serious, I think it's more likely precautionary, especially withWimbledon next week. It's one of her favourite tournaments, she just probably wants to be 100%.

I think she'll be fine. :)

I doubt that because she was speaking just latelast month about having the fire to still play and win. And we all know Amelie won'tbe rushing into retirement to have babies. So long as she's fit, regardless ofhow she does at wimbledon I think she still loves the game too much to quit just yet.

Another year at least IMO.

This has been going on for a while with Amélie, since Wimbledon 2006 actually. :tape:

One injury or illness, after another.

I can't feel positive at the moment.

She needs the match play to build some kind of confidence.

Mytake on the situationpost Wimbledon 2006 was some kind of post slam success burnout. She had achieved SO much from YEC 2005. I think she found the fire again just recently, and I think she said that after Justine retired. She most definitely needs the matches, and confidence, but I'm still positive she'll get herself on track in the next few months. And performing awfully around the French and Eastbourne is nothing new, she went on to win Wimbledon after a similar story in 2006.

Lets see how wimbledon goes, and the next couple of tourneys. If she's not performing better by years end - then i'll start to worry. :)

Her body has been letting her down, ever since Wimbledon 2006.

It was the tear in the adductors, then the shoulder, then the adductors, then appendicitis, then the adductors . . . etc.

Not looking good for the frenchie. :help:

Mauresmo uncertain
Tennis - Wimbledon

Amélie Mauresmo, injured the left thigh Wednesday at Eastbourne, is uncertain for Wimbledon, said his press attaché Alexia Dechaume.

The French gave up after fifteen minutes of play against Australian Samantha Stosur after having felt great pain. Examinations revealed a tear of three centimetres. Mauresmo was given 48 hours to see if the pain decreased, but the trend was not optimistic, "said Dechaume. The Wimbledon tournament begins Monday.

Jun 18th, 2008, 06:23 PM
Well if she has a tear of 3 centimeters I can't see how she could compete in Wimbledon. That is very unfortunate not only for her but also for the tournament, as her stylish play on grass is undoubtably an asset to the game.
