Now no one can catch her , even Eva Birnerova ( who had to win next weeks Yucatan Trophy if Sveta lost today), but after a slow start Sveta stormed away beating Jelena Jankovic 2-6 6-2 6-0
<br /> congrats Sveta and best of luck tomorrow and make it an all Russian final , get revenge for the US Open loss.

Does it mean, that she is through with juniors tennis? Must be, at least she has nothing to gain at this level.

Never seen a junior once she has obtained ITF Junior Champ status continue playing for another year ,
*There is no point really unless she wants to win a Slam title(normally #1 has a SLAM to her name)
Sveta will have 3 Junior Exempts and they can all be at $75K level or lower whatever she chooses.
Blessings And Aloha

Congratulations Svetlana! But to be a real #1, she needs a major title to her credit. And the Orange Bowl is that major title. Svetlana seems to be ready for the pro's. None of the other Russian girls are as strong and as durable as Svetlana. Not even Maria Sharapova.
