She played Clijsters at the 2006/07 AO? I have pics of her, wearing that very odd outift!

I really hope Vasi commits herself this time. She's got a great personality. She is great for the game.

I remember her mostly for winning 1 total game in all three of her grand slam matches combined in 2007.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I've never been that impressed with her. Shes got a similar game to Martina Muller

Great that shes recovered from her injuries though

She almost beat Chakvetadze in the Hobart final, then played Kim at the AO.

:cuckoo: Not really. Vasilisa hits the ball hard, flat and deep with little spin and no margin for error.
Martina, in contrast, overproduces spin and her shots all land in the middle of the court.
I also think that Vasilisa has a better serve, Martina's is just one great example to describe what CRAP is:help:

Vasilisa Bardina's current rank and career high?
#949 and #48 respectively
And...0 WTA Titles

Martina Muller's current rank and career high?
#103 and #33 respectively
And...2 WTA Titles

So shut the f*ck up, Muller must be doing something right :wavey:

Not a surprising scoreline actually. My guess is that Vasi probably hasn't been practicing that much and has decided to start at the lowest level as a way of playing herself back in form. That there is a lot of rust is to be expected. I'm glad Vasi fought and got through to the 2nd round. :)

Obviously we hope she keeps at it and the results get better and better but you got to start from somewhere.

She beat an Aussie
Emelyn is on the comeback trail too...
If she hadn't fractured her ribs a while back, she would have won this in 2 ;)

Hopefully Anna can beat Uberoi and then beat Bardina

I would love to Vasilisa play well again, but I feel the same about Uberoi. She's had a dreadful season, and I thought she had a decent game a couple years ago

That is a horrible scoreline, and to a player I would never have expected her to lose to. :o

What happened to Vasilisa?
