:wavey:
My computer isn't cooperating, so not a lot of pictures yet, plus I'm tired, but I'll try to write down some things I remember, because after tomorrow I will have forgotten.

Matches
Benesova vs Chan
I only saw a few rallies of this match, from the first set (was sitting at the top row of court 1 - compromise with my friend who wanted to see that match), but from what I saw, Chan was playing well, making Iveta run, coming up with some good shots. Iveta was getting quite frustrated too. But somehow I never went back that match later, so not a lot to say.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/15%20juni/008.jpg

Rus vs Koryttseva
Rus was playing a lot better than when I saw her at Roland Garros 2 weeks ago. Her forehand was strong today, and so was her serve. I'm still amazed at her technique though, I think it screams for injuries:tape: Anyway, I saw the 2nd set only, she went a break up early in that set, but unfortunately she couldn't keep that up and lost it 6-4 :( But she could keep up with Koryttseva, it does say something about her level.

Lucic vs Tanasugarn
I really wanted to see Mirjana play because I was curious about her level of play now. Didn't disappoint me actually. Her game is quite good, she's powerful (would have liked to see a serve speed meter at that court), she doesn't have a shot that's weaker than the others (maybe her volleys, don't know, don't remember a lot of them). She just goes into errormode sometimes. In the beginning of the match she was making way too many errors, so Tammy went up a break. Then the rain came, and I went to see something else after the rain, came back here when Tanasugarn was leading 4-1 in the 2nd set. Then Lucic started playing amazing, almost no errors. Tammy played well too, but she did make some errors, it got into her head and she lost the set 6-4. Next she broke Mirjana in the first game of the 3rd set, and never gave that break away. It turned into a really exciting match though, close games, both players playing well, and really wanting to win. Tanasugarn was calm for most of the match, but Lucic....damn, she was annoying :o I've never seen a player as pumped up as she was :o Seriously, she scared me at some points!
I got a video of her, which I can't upload right now, but I'll do it later. She was still calm there, but you can see the pumpedup-ness anyway.

Vesnina-Pin
Saw the 2nd set. Is Vesnina always that negative? She went up 2-0 in the set, and then she just....lost it. She was making throwaway gestures at every shot (and I mean ťvery shot) she missed. Was quite funny to watch, but of course she wasn't going to win that match that way. All Pin (who btw is indeed seriously cute) had to do was keep the ball in court, and that's something you can trust her to do. She won the set easily, 6-3.

Practices
Ok, I saw a LOT of players practice, so just some notes.
* Flavia was hitting well. She practiced with Dinara, sharing a court with Chakvetadze and Sugiyama (a bit surprising, cause on the other court were Schiavone, Errani, Medina and Cirstea) and both were hitting well, but Flavia was the better of the two on the points they played
* Misa practiced with Richard for a while, it was soooooo busy around that court! Didn't really stay to watch though
* Was not impressed with Chakvetadze much
* During Flavia's 2nd practice (uhuh, I was impressed, lots of ppl practiced twice anyway) she saw Medina, Parra and their coaches standing on the other side of the fence, waiting till they could get on the court they reserved, and she started hitting balls to them  From the back over the court, over the high fence, in the middle of where they were standing. She was having a lot of fun with herself then:lol:
* Errani and Schiavone make too much noise, lol
* I was the only one around the court who recognised Alexis Gordon:banana:
* Medina seemed to be enjoying herself a lot, one of the most relaxed players I saw around

Nope, she's one of the very few players who were already in Rosmalen, but not practising.
(I probably just missed her)

Was there LenaD?
Yes, but I didn't stay to watch

btw, I thought I saw Su-Wei Hsieh:scratch: Does anyone know if she's here to practice maybe?

Sugiyama vs Krajicek
When I got to the match (halfway through the 2nd set) Misa was playing awesome, totally outplaying Ai. Then she somehow let it slip away though, let Ai get into her game, played less good herself, and the set got very exciting. Ai started hitting deeper, started to come to the net a bit, hit a few winners, and Misa started missing shots, coming to the net at the wrong moment, etc. In the end Ai won the set 7-5.
Didn't see the 3rd set but it must have been more of the same, considering the score. If Mirza plays like today, and maybe serves a bit better, I think she'll beat Krajicek.

Medina vs Srebotnik
Saw bits of the end of the 2nd set and the 3rd set. Srebotnik was playing better, but it stayed a pretty close match. Medina clearly doesn't like grass. A few people were watching this match from the players room balcony too: Safina, Urpi, Pennetta, Verkerk, and 2 coaches I didn't recognise.

Schiavone vs Harkleroad
Was watching this at the same time as Medina-Srebotnik, so didn't see that much, but in the first set, Fran was kind of pathetic. She did better in the 2nd set though, but got broken near the end of the set, so that was it. I did like Harkleroad's game, but tbh, I think a lot of people would have beaten Francesca today.

Safina vs Parmentier
Saw the end of the first set and the second set, and Safina was playing really well! Hitting good serves, powerful groundstrokes, and Parmentier tried the best she could but just couldn't keep up.

Matches
Zakopalova vs Kerber
Watched the beginning of this, till halfway in the 1st set. Wasn't a great match, errors were dominating, especially from Kerber. Not that Zakopalova was playing much better though. Am straining my mind, but that's all I remember from it now, sorry. Only saw like 5 games anyway.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/16%20juni/028.jpg

Errani vs Keothavong
This was a better match. Anne was getting into rallies with Sara too much, it was better for her if points were short, but she didn't manage to keep them short, so Sara was able to hang on. Errani got set points on Anne's serve on 5-4, but blew them (ok, Anne simply played good on these points), then got 6-5 behind, got it to a tiebreak and won it:worship: Good fight from her. Anne had a setpoint in the tiebreak as well, but wasn't able to take it.
I left after the first set, but judging from the score, losing that first set was breaking point for Anne.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/16%20juni/042.jpg

Pennetta vs Mirza
I could summarize this match very shortly: Sania was having one of her good days, Flavia's serve had taken a day off (it was beyond pathetic, she held serve once in each set:help: ) and Sania was overpowering Flavia.
Sania's serve wasn't all that strong either, but even though she got broken like 5 times too, it was still much better than Flavia's. On the other hand, Flavia's game is still solid, saw some really nice winners (not too many, but the ones she did it were good ones), her footwork is good (despit having trouble to get to Sania's deep, powerful shots), so I'm not that negative after this match.
Good to see Sania playing well, and keeping the level up all match too.

Sidenote: I took my mum to the tournament today, she'd never seen Flavia play, so that was quite fun;) I thought she qas quite calm today, but my mum was still impressed by her temper:lol:

Feys/Lucic vs Koryttseva/Rodionova
Had fun trying to piss off Rodionova during this match:devil: but unfortunatey it didn't really work :p She and Mariya were having more problems with Feys and Lucic than they should though. I have to say they were playing better than I thought they would though, they were very close to the win, but blew a lead in the super tiebreak :(
Even though I didn't manage to piss Rodionova off, she was still being her usual bitchy self btw.

Practice
Didn't see a lot of practice today, just some warming up in the morning. Pennetta&Benesova (:scared: ) and Mirza&Sugiyama were sharing a court, could anyone explain to me the logic of that? I don't understand why Sania and Flavia would warm up on the same court :o

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/16%20juni/011.jpg

And I saw Flavia train late in the day. She was so relaxed there! Such a difference with her playing attitude;) She was hitting pretty well too, but that's a bit useless now. There was some serious coaching going on too, it wasn't just a hitting session. Most important was that she was having fun though.
Some funny moments: She hit Urpi very close to a place where he wouldn't like to be hit :o Everyone was laughing heaps at that, and she was apologising a lot;) She also nearly hit me with a shot (yeah she was doing well, lol). Apart from that, she was laughing at every shot she missed:lol:

Matches
Chan vs Arvidsson
I only saw the first 5 games, but it was a fun match, both girls were playing pretty well, hitting some clean winners. Iím afraid I donít remember much of the match though, it seems to long ago already....(I should take notes, I know!) One thing I do remember is that Chanís coach was annoying me.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/022.jpg

Cirstea vs Kirilenko
Another good match. Both players have good groundstrokes, hitting winners with both forehand and backhand, not too much variation, but if they tried a dropshot, or got to the net, it went well more often than not. The match was close too, Kirilenko could just have won a set, or 2, as well.
Sidenote: Cirsteaís got a kind of cute grunt.

Kerber vs Chakvetadze
I watched the last game of the 1st set and the whole of the 2nd set. Wasnít impressed with Anna at all. Her forehand looked alright, but she has to work much too hard on her backhand. Service wasnít great either, but thatís basically just a lack of power thing, part of her game. Kerber on the other hand, is really having a good week! I donít think her game is that special, but she played very solid, which was enough to take a set in this match.

A Bondarenko vs Erakovic
Saw most of the 3rd set, there wasnít a lot of difference between the players. Erakovic is more comfortable on grass, but Alona has a higher Ďstandard levelí I think, plus more experience, which helped her to get the crucial break to win the match. There was one funny moment: a service of Erakovic was called as a net serve (it clearly was), and she told the umpire: ďCome on! Did you hear anything?Ē All the crowd went: yes!
I didnít know Marina was being coached by people from the Dutch federation btw. Maybe that explains the doubles with Misa.

Safina vs Pin
Safina was very impressive! Got to the court at 4-1 first set, and she was playing so well! Hitting very hard, and very precise, lots of winners. Pin was doing as well as she could, but the match was really depending on Dinara. In the 2nd set, after Dinara got an early break, she was just not trying hard on Camilleís serve anymore, and then you just know that thereíll be a bad game and sheíll be broken back. That happened at 4-3, but after that game she played 2 great games again, so she sealed the set 6-4 anyway:cool:

Lefevre/Vedy vs Kirilenko/Pennetta
Story of this match is of course Flaviaís injury. To me it seemed not serious but very real. Or sheís a great actress. She was having a lot of trouble with her movement from the beginning or the match, not really reaching to balls she should have been able to get to. She requested the trainer after 3 games, received a medical time out on her foot after 5 games, and then got treatment again after 9 games, 11 games, and after the set, when she retired (not after 7 games, because Kirilenko had requested her coach, does anyone know why that means Flavia couldnít have treatment? ). I donít think it was a bad injury, probably something like blisters, but I donít think she faked it either.
Btw, Vedy looks a bit like Dominguez Lino. I saw her at practice courts earlier this week, had no idea who she was, but I was thinking Ďno, Lourdes isnít here....í Now I know it was her;)

Dekmeijere/Kerber vs Koryttseva/Rodionova
Another match I donít remember too much off. Rodionova was being her usual pissed off self, but when I was at the match (only saw bits) she and Mariya were playing well anyway. They didnít play much less than Dekmeijere and Kerber. But I was at the part of the match where they were coming back from 5-2 behind, so I guess thatís why I have this idea;)

Practices
* Anna Chakvetadze warming up for her match. Like I said at the match part, forehand looked a lot better than backhand. Didnít stay to watch long though
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/003.jpg

* Errani with coach and hitting partner. They did a photo session before practice, cute:lol:
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/009.jpg

* Pennetta&Sugiyama on a court with Koryttseva&Rodionova. I only paid attention to Flavia;) She was starting to get annoyed with her serve even in training....Problems seem to be with her location on the baseline while serving, and the way she holds her upper body during the first part of the service motion. At least thatís what her coach was going on about. There was one funny moment when something (donít know what) was up with Rodionova, and Flavia was telling her something I couldnít hear, and laughed at her (not in a mean way). Iím not sure Rodionova was appreciating it, lol

(laughing at Rodionova)

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/065.jpg

* Rus&Thijssen trained together for over an hour
* Vesnina&Keothavong also trained for a long time
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/082.jpg

* Harkleroad was doing warming up, but I didnít stay to watch
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/081.jpg

* Safina and her coach. Looked good.
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/092.jpg

* Srebotnik&Sugiyama (Ai trains a LOT!), having a lot of fun together. After their training they sat down with their coaches and Aiís mum and started chatting and laughing
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/17%20juni/196.jpg

* Elena Dementieva, who had her mum and some guy with her, hitting with John van Lottum:cool: From what he was saying (something like he couldnít get to her shots even with his grass shoes on) they practiced together before this week. I only watched the bit where they were hitting to each other from the baseline, but that was the most impressive hitting session Iíve seen this week. Theyíd last minutes with just one ball at times. John kept saying ďgood shotĒ ;)

Sidenotes
* Whatís up with all the girls being so tempery? Yesterday was worse than today, but geesh....
* Rosmalen schedulers are idiots....for some reason they kept changing the schedule today. I was at court 1 for Flavia&Maria, but their match got switched with another match for reasons nobody knew, the court they now played on was much smaller. And then they managed to move Krajicek&Erakovic to that same court:help: I didnít even bother to try and get a seat, it was so packed!
* Gabriel Urpi loves the players lounge balcony:lol: So far every time this week when I was at court 1, he was there as well. I think it is because he smokes, but Iím not sure about that.

Matches
Arvidsson/Keothavong vs Lefevre/Vedy
Wanted to watch 1 set only, but ended up watching the whole match because it was rather entertaining. Before the doubles first round, I thought Lefevre and Vedy should be an easy win for whoever they played, but they positively surprised me. They were playing quite well. Lefevre is really a huge girl (sheíd make Bartoli look slim), but sheís got a good serve especially. Sheís also quite tempery, she talks a lot on court. And she and Vedy coach each other all the time.
Between Arvidsson and Keothavong, Anne was the one making the most mistakes, especially when volleying.

Mirza vs Krajicek
Blah, why couldnít Sania have played like this on monday? Her serve was the same as monday; not very good, but a lot of the groundstrokes that went in against Flavia, went out today. Misa on the other hand was playing really good. Her serve was better than Iíve seen it in ages, and the rest of her game looked solid too. I left after 3 games in the 2nd set, it was clear it would just be more of the same.

Chan vs Srebotnik
Fun match. Both have of course a lot of variety because of their doubles experience, and that showed off. I really like Chanís game for some reason, she made me a bit of a fan this week. Shame her coach has to be so annoying. He was sitting next to me, and he was encouraging her after every point, in a lot of different languages, lol.
At 1-1 in the 2nd set, Srebotnik fell, and hurt her ankle. At first it seemed really bad, but in the end she was able to get up and walk to her chair by herself. The trainer was called, her ankle was taped and Srebotnik was able to continue the match. To me, it didnít seem like she was bothered by it at all. The match stayed rather close, but Kata broke Chan twice and sealed the set and the match.

Tanasugarn vs Harkleroad
Saw from 3-2 in the 1st set to 5-4 in the 2nd and I have no idea how I lasted that long. It was booooring! Wasnít even a bad match, but just not very interesting, so I donít remember much either.

Koryttseva vs Cirstea
Watched the 1st set, it was quite a breakfast. Cirstea started really bad, but after getting 3-0 behind, she got into her game, levelled, got broken again, levelled again, etc. Eventually she managed to win the set in a tiebreak.
Her coach can compete with Chanís coach for most annoying coach ever. She was also encouraging Sorana at pretty much every point, argh! Sorana herself was getting quite frustrated with herself, kept talking loud, probably wondering how she could play that bad (in her own eyes), or something like that.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g169/LindaZamboni/Tennis/Rosmalen%202008/18%20juni/189.jpg

Dementieva vs Errani
I brought my Italian flag for this, but had very little opportunity to use it in the first set. Elena was just a class too good for Sara. Especially her service was having a good day, I believe she hit 3 aces in 1 set, pretty good for her. In the 2nd set, Sara got into her game a lot more and showed off some of her rallying abilities. She did get broken, but Elena delivered a really bad service game and Sara broke back. Then she kept up till the end of the set. Elena was still deciding most of the points, but I was quite pleased with what Sara was showing :) I expected less of her.....
Deserved win for Elena in the end though.

Random stuff
* Something I forgot to mention yesterday: Dekmeijere got told off by the umpire for checking her phone whole they were waiting for the trainer for Koryttseva:lol:
* The ballkids suck. I thought they’d get better during the week, but at the outside courts half of them still have no idea what to do
* Richard was at Misa's training again. When they left the court, he was being asked for autographs and pics, she wasn't:o

to round it off:

Heard around the courts
* About Lefevre: "She's nearly as big as me!"
* About Chan, referring to her stocky built: "If she was wearing a green outfit, you'd mistake her for a glass container":o (I guess they are green in Belgium)
* long discussion at Lefevre/Vedy vs Kirilenko/Pennetta between a bunch of kids (about 10 years old) about who was the prettiest of each duo. They agreed on Vedy, but it was pretty 50/50 between Maria and Flavia:lol:
* About Dementieva: "Oh I see she brought her mum. Bet the mum can't let her daughter go, doesn't want to let her live her own life"
* About Sara, while looking at her coach: "I hope she gets far"
* About Dinara: "She got to the final at Roland Garros." "She didn't win, did she?" "No, she lost to Ivanisevic":help:
* About a million times: "Who is this?":tape:

As for her physique,I do think she's on the edge of being unfit, but so far it's very good for an athlete;it's something like Sveta's or Domi's.I find it just cool to have a built like that, which prevents you from getting injured too easily.

Glad you ALSO like her game,as many others who got to see her play. ;) :p

She's been playing doubles with Misa since before she had Michiel. I don't think any of her other support team is dutch though, her hitting partner/2nd coach is American (although that may have changed now).
