C Wozniacki v Q
S Stosur v K O'Brien
A Mauresmo v A Cornet (6)

V Zvonareva (3) - BYE
V Dushevina v Q
C Dellacqua v N Li
S Peer v N Petrova (8)

N Vaidisova (7) v O Govortsova

A Radwanska (4) - BYE

V Azarenka (5) v A Rezai
Q v M South
Q v S Bammer
M Bartoli (2) - BYE

In my honest opinion, quite a weak draw. It's a shame that Amelie is against Alize. Sge could have caused damage and reclaimed some points if she was in Marion's quarter.

Very Weak :tape:

Good Luck:
(2) Marion Bartoli
(3) Vera Zvonareva
Samantha Stosur
Casey Dellacqua

:D

The qualifier right at the bottom clearly has an easy passage to the quarters based on the way both Sybille and Marion are currently playing. They both have 3 or 4 match losing streaks each.

It honestly seems like they took the unluckiest 8 seeds in the Top 25 and just placed them in a draw together.

Sveta has so many final appearances for only one win.
Vera only recently won her first title this year after 3 finals appearances this year.
Nicole or Aga have never made a Tier II final, although both have a stack of Tier IIIs and IVs.
Marion speaks for herself.
Alize is 0-2 in finals this year and has also made quite a number of SFs.
Nadia is unpredictable even on grass and hasn't won a tournament since Paris in FEB 2007.
Vika has yet to win a title after 4 unsuccessful finals attempts.

I'm gonna go with Davenport for the win.

Good luck Sveta; hope you win this one :) Pity Caro in second round

I still think Amelie will beat up Alize :tape: Alize is a clay-court specialist after all.

Good draw for Sam, she has a chance of making the quarter finals :)
Also good for Casey as Li is coming back after a long lay off...hopefully she can do well too

Davenport will trash Radwanska in 2R

I dont think the draw is that weak.
-Davenport, Kuznetsova and Mauresmo are all former grand slam champions and big names so are likely to attract the biggest crowds.
-Bartoli is pretty well known by British crowds because of her run at Wimbledon last year.
-Similarly, Petrova and Vaidisova are again pretty big names, as well as numerous youngsters who are becoming better known by the public such as Radwanska.

Obviously not as strong as usual, but still a pretty solid field in my opinion. Looking forward to it:)

I worry about that first round matchup of Lindsay's.

Razzano isn't a great mover but she can keep up with a player's pace at times.

I too am quite dissapointed about the field this year, but to be honest after living in Eastbourne for a few years, I can understand one huge reason players would hate to play here; the wind. I can't comment on other things, but I guess that plays a role.

As for the draw, I was just coming into the press centre as they announced Cornet Vs. Mauresmo :D I was quite surprised.

Lindsay has bye to the finals, honestly. :tape:.

Don't bet on it. One of two things happen to Lindsay at Eastbourne she either loses early or wins the title there is no in between. I hope Lindsay does really well here and remember she hasn't played in eight weeks so there's bound to be some rust as much as Razzano sucked lately it could still be a difficult first round for Lindsay, :)

R2: Sveta Kuznetsova (1)
