Here is my list.

Vera Zvonareva - Cincinnati while playing a match and losing (but she ultimately won) in about 2004.

Vera Zvonareva - Charleston while playing a match and losing (and she was gesturing and calling things out, and the crowd found her very rude and cheered when she lost) in about 2005.

Yuliana Fedak - Charleston 2007 after losing (to Zheng in 1R, I think). Crying and yelling at her coach, for a long time, out in the grassy area.

Ula Radwanska - Indian Wells 2008 while playing Yan, also gesturing and she got a code violation for cursing too

I dont understand these players standing by the practice courts or sitting on a bench etc crying hours after the match - surely they could have found somewhere private by then instead of making a big public display

I most remember Hauntuchova against Asagoe in Wimbledon 03 (after almost every point) and that wasnt Vera-style it was actual "my world is falling apart, Im losing but everyhing else has gone wrong" style crying. Also, Serena shed a tear after the Wimbledon 04 final, but she did it in a dignified and reserved way which I thought was very strong of her, you could tell how much she was hurt not to have done the triple but she didnt want people to see or ruin Maria's moment

Szavay - after pulling out injured against Kuznetsova in the final of New Haven last year.
Jankovic - in pain during the match against Sharapova in Australian Open this year.
Cornet - against Jankovic in the final of Rome this year.
Ivanovic - when things didn't work for her in Berlin/Rome.
Zvonareva - many times.

The ones that really spring to my mind are ones already mentioned. Novotna at Wimbledon '93 when she looked like she was about to beat Graf and Hantuchova at Wimbledon 2003. That might have been a first round match on an outside court. But it wasn't so much the defeat, but a sense of complete emotional disintegration, that you don't really expect. Whatever it was, there was clearly something off-court that had got hold of her mentally and it was painful to watch.

Steph cried multiple times, one memorable time was her ovation in Montreal after Kim retired in the second round. Less fun times were her losses to Jidkova (3-6 7-6 7-6) and Vakulenko (6-1 2-6 7-5) in Quebec City's Bell Challenge. I think she might have cried for a LOT more matches though, very emotionnal person (but also the nicest, as are most emotionnal players).

Navratilova was notorious for crying everytime she was losing a match, pretty pathetic. Unlike Chris Evert, who never ever cried. The only time Chrissie shed a few tears (of joy) was when she won the thriller FO final in 1985.

After RG '04 I was so pissed off at Elena for her pathetic performance I spent about 15 minutes trying to convince myself that I was really a Myskina fan after all.

Then came the press conference where Lena completely broke down when trying to discuss her serving woes. Naturally, I melted like a popsicle on the dashboard, even as I wondered why on earth I felt so sorry for anyone that young, that rich and that beautiful.

It was the first and last time my loyalty to lovely Lena has, or will ever, waver.

Krajicek - Rosmalen 2005 QF when she injured her knee. Also AO - when she lost to Kemer.
Fedak - I've seen a couple of times. Once in club matches in NL.
Lots of players cry at some stage in their carrers - whether for win or loss.

Marta Domachowska - Tokyo AIG Open 2007. She got waxed by an Asian player. She was flat out bawling to her coach out by the back courts. Pretty gut wrenching stuff...

No, but I do remember that match. That girl was a wreck for those two seasons. Glad she got out of it, always sad to see anyone have that kind of problem, and doubly so when it's because of their looks.

Alisa Kleybanova after losing to Vera Zvonareva at Miami 2008.

It was the last match on Court 3, near 10PM, with maybe 25-30 spectators, and she didn't play well at all, losing in straights. As she walked off, a few of us gave her encouragement by shouting "congrats on beating Nicole" and "Good try!". As I left the court, she was to my left and she was in tears. I felt bad for her.

Somebody bad-repped me and said I am "sick" for this thread. I guess that's one way to see it, but I don't see any comments here as bad or badly-intended. If the crying comes with bad sportsmanship and a tantrum, that's one thing to know about a player, and if it is due to stress and sadness, that is another way to know a player. I don't see crying on its face as something bad, and don't think mentioning it is "sick". Actually knowing something occurs and avoiding discussing it can be a sign of repression and sickness, imo.

At the 1995 French Open, Chanda Rubin was down 7-6 4-6 0-5 00-40 against Novotna, and ended up winning it 8-6 in the third. :tape:

Tammy Tanasugarn - Fed Cup Asia/Oceania 2007

Not sure why it could have been because the crowd was really behind the Chinese Taipei girl (not sure why, Tammy was FAR nicer in person than the anyone off their team!!!), she ran into the net and burst into tears (took a picture of it in Archives - Fed Cup 2007)

Oh and Sacha Jones, ASB Classic this year - Don't know why, it could just be because she loves the game so much and didn't want to play just one match in front of her home crowd (she was up against Vera Zvonareva though)

Jelena Jankovic. Me and my friend went for a walk to the practise courts after the Jankovic - Clijsters Sydney 07 final, Jelena was there in tears with her coach. It was funny becuase she didn't realise anyone else was there coz it was so dark and she said something like " I don't know how that bitch came back" and me and my friend cracked up and she turned around and saw us and she looked like she wanted to beat the crap us..
hahaha! poor jelena. I was at that match, i wish she'd won, but happy for kim at the same time.
Please, that is beyon "crying" per se. It's tremendous suffering. Don't watch it on youtube people !
i second that, horrible video, she was in so much pain:sad:

Ana wasn`t crying during today`s match !!!!

During the second set i think when she was down a break at 2-3 she had the towel against her face the whole change over and wiped her eyes when she got up. During the 2-2 game it looked like she was going to cry soon too.
