I think they will, but she will still be outside the top 16. Lindsay hasen't played the tournament in the last 2 years so she has won no grasscourt points at all. They cannot really bump her up more than a few places.

She deserves a seed, probably top 30

Lindsay is at least a top 16 seed at Wimbledon if not a bit higher. They should bump up her seeding. If they don't it the luck of draw and Lindsay luck with her oz open draw wasn't that good.

Id hope so since shes in the top 30....lol she should be top 24 regardless (I know shes on the bubble) but they might bump her up to 16... otherwise no...its tough cause she hasnt played in the last 2 years... but her record at Wimbledon is :worship: when you look at who shes lost to, the only person with a better tourny is Venus at the US Open....:worship: And the way shes played this year.... The fact that she just about humiliated the new Number 1 player this year I'd say its in the best interest of Lindsay and anyone ranked in the top 8 for her to be bumped up to the top 16...

She will not get a seeding bump up. Plain and simple.

I don't if she's gonna get it, but for sure she should be place inside the top 16 IMO. As a former champion and RUp she deserves it.

she will be a top 24 seed so she avoids top 8 in the 3rd round

so no need for a seed bump

in that case they should do the same with amelie
both should be insinde top 24 to avoid a 3rd round with top 8, that would be great

well she 's good in spots 17-24 IMO , no need to draw Venus in round 3 :o 4 losses against her are already way too much ...

Yes. She's currently at No. 26, and the seeding committee will move her up to No. 24 or so.

Mauresmo won Wimbledon two years ago and reached the final of Eastbourne last year, so she will end up in the Top 16 probably.

About Lindsay, I think the Top 8 is more concerned in facing her in the 3rd round than the opposite!

I say no, Lindsay hasn't played in 2 years and is too sporadic these days. I think she's a great grass court player but there is no legit basis for moving her up.

pretty sure it'll be no
withdrawals will probably make her in 17-24 range anyway

If she is not 17-24 by the time they make the draw, they should bump her to 24.

Sporadic? She's lost to only the current top 3 players and the RG finalist in her WTA tournaments this year...

And the "legit basis" for moving her up is her Wimbledon track record.

Don't see why. She just won one time, that was 9 years ago. She's a choker, including at Wimbledon.

the last time she played- 2 years ago- a finalist- had match points!
almost beating one of the best grass court player of all time.
Dont act like Lindsay is has been! I can bet my house she will beat routinely on grass players below top 10, plus some other top tenners.

:help:

Only 2 players in the draw have won it more than once so I don't get your point. Besides that title in 99, Lindsay still has one of the best records at Wimbledon of all those in the draw.

and no, Lindsay is not a choker.

I think a top 16 seeding would be a fair bump :cool::bounce:

She deserves a top 12 seeding on the fact that none of the players ranked ahead of her have done shit on grass.

Schynder might have made the 4th round of Wimbledon last year but it was the hellish run to the 4th round of a slam I ever can remember.

Vera is good but again she hasn't made it past a 4th round but she did win Birmingham.

Radwanska and Szavay don't have their grass footing yet.
Azarenka could be good on this surface but she hasn't proven herself.

Cornet and Schiavone's games do not translate well to grass at all.
Vaidisova and Golovin are good on grass but who knows where their head is right now.

Petrova made a quarterfinal here but this is clearly her worse surface and she sucks balls right now.
Pennetta and Kirilenko play good on this surface.
Srebotnik and Peer on the other hand do not.

The fact is that Lindsay has played well on every surface this year and beaten more top 10 players than any of these players ranked higher than her.

12th seed it is.

If they don't seed Nadal as #1 at the FO, where he's the 1-9 favorite, then what's the point of changing Lindsay? She's a huge longshot to win it.

Because in essence there's no difference in being the #1 seed or the #2 seed

Because the FO doesnt change the rankings? and as someone else said theres no dif between #2 and #1 as far as the draws go.... There really isnt a dif between #1,#2,#3 and #4 for that matter....

And as far as a longshot goes....
Venus has made 6 finals. Lindsey 3... Serena 3.... Amelie 1, Sharapova 1 Bartoli 1 (if she plays) of the players in the draw.

The only player whose repeated a final appearnece Since Lindsays last final is Venus. Serena/ Sharapova havent made it to a final since then. And Lindsay has only lost to the eventual champion since winning in 99.....so if lindsay's a huge long shot at the title.... I hate to think of anyone else whose name isnt Venus' chances...:help:

Didn't know she lost to Tauziat twice and Martinez.
