This list is sorta weird. Serena, and Maria above Tyra banks? Or does this include the world and not just the US?

I think it's mainly for last year's press exposures.

It's great to have 4 tennis players on there-BUT what about Venus and Nadal?

I'm sure Ivanovic and Djokovic will make it on there next year.

I think it's mainly for last year's press exposures.

I'm pretty sure it includes up until this June from last July, so that takes into account her retirement.

hrmm... Justine.... O.....K....lol

I dont think it includes the retirement though... cause Serena and Maria's earnings are from last year....Did Justine really make 12.5 mil? This is a wierd list though... why is roger so high above crazies like Tom Cruise and Kanye....hell even one of their many personalities rank higher than him...

And Venus not on the list? with Serena so high? I know we say they're different people but they're clearly known as the william's sisters to casual/ non tennis fans....

why would it be weird for Justine to be on the list? She is very well known in many countries. Was the list for US only? If so, then who cares because USA is only 5% of the world.

Maria and Serena don't surprise me at all but Justine kind of does, but good for them, they all deserve it.

Im pretty sure its just for the US as Forbes is usually geared towards the US....and most people on that list are famous Americans/ do things in America

That said....even world wide would you expect Justine to be that high? Sure she was the #1 player... Tennis fans know her, but the biggest thing and the "we wont loose sleep over it" is based on the fact that she wasnt marketable/ the WTA didnt try to market her. You see Maria/ Serena/ Venus/ Hantuchova...etc in magazines. not Justine

She had a phenomenal 2007, winning 10 of the 14 tournaments she played in and became the first woman to snag $5 million in prize money in one season.

You don't get on the Forbes list by not doing something extraordinary :yeah:

She has more money, ranked higher in the other two.

The Forbes list is based in the US sure, but if it only cared about who's popular in the US then yeah, Justine probably wouldn't be on the list. I mean, Michael Shumacer(sp?) was on the list several times and few people in the US follow Formula One Racing. The people at Forbes seem to care mostly about earning power regardless of where it comes from.
