The coat she's wearing seem to be two sizes bigger than her actual size. Maybe it's her mother's. Is it her next to Sania?

One more pic. This pictures was taken when sania went for Umrah in September 2006 along with her family.

No Sania's dress is not oversisized, thats the way they have to wear for the religious purpose. After all i wonder anyone knws or not but Sania prays 5 times a day.

Safina is also Muslim, is she not?

I'm surprised that none of the major sports media mentioned this in the run-up to the RG final.

She is a non-practising Muslim though,isn't she?

True--but given the current political climate, would you expect the (certainly U.S.) media to make the distinction?

She isnt muslim by more than just her family history. Her brother and her are both non-practicing and Im almost sure her mother isnt either. I never even knew about her dad until RG this year, so Im not sure about him.

Hi All, :wavey:

as a muslim woman myself... and I also wear veil...I can tell you that it's not that hard...
cos it's the faith that gives us the strength to do God's command... :)
anything is possible if God wants it...

The coat is big to hide her curves. She can't go out there tempting men :o

Yes, you can pray five times a day and practice tennis. People go through their daily lives, offering the prayers 5 times a day and yet it doesn't affect their work or social lives.

Plenty of player's (who aren't required to pray 5 times a day) lose to unknown players, as a Mauresmo fan, you should know that.

each prayer takes MAXIMUM 2 minutes. so all together praying takes maximum 10 minutes of 24 HOURS each day. I dont think that really effects practice now does it?:)

It's a headscarf, not a veil (which would be covering the face).

Yayuk Basuki, and several other Indonesian players, are all Muslim, but it's not an issue. And we have a regional champion extreme sports wall climber who competes -- and wins -- with her head covered.

I think Iroda is also Muslim, and there are probably a few players from Europe who also are Muslim.
