Three nationalities in the top 10

When Zvonareva replaces Bartoli in the top 10, there will be two Serbians, six Russians and two Americans; only three nationalities. Has that ever happened before? :confused:

It can happen this week if:

Marion loses in R2 or QF and Vera makes SF
Vera beats Marion in SF

With a SF she'll be tied with Daniela (2007 points), and Daniela played more tournaments so she will be #10.

Vera has 1912 points, and SF at Eastbourne gives 125 points, enough to pass Daniela. :)

I count 5. Which of the Russians outside the YEC Race top 10 looks at all capable of stringing together a top 8 season?

They go on the record for Tier I + Grand Slam over the past year when they're tied. It happened with Maid Marion and Dani last year. Vera has more points in those this calendar year than Dani does over the last 12 months.
