SPRING 2003 TENNIS FOOTWEAR COLLECTION FACT SHEET

Latest Venus Williams and Andy Roddick Signature Shoes Highlight Collection

Canton, MA (August 1, 2002) Just in time for the sunny days and hot courts of spring, Reebok introduces a new line of tennis shoes from the Reebok Tennis League (R.T.L.) that are sure to be a total style and comfort story from toe to heel. The signature shoes for Venus Williams and Andy Roddick headline the R.T.L. collection. The VESW (Venus Ebone Starr Williams ) DMX and Figjam DMX were designed and engineered exclusively for Williams and Roddick.

Contemporary styling and high-performance function make this global collection ideal for all levels of the global tennis community. With the introduction of Reebok's advanced rubber compound -- which provides players with better durability and traction and a more cushioned, comfortable and stable ride -- the collection is ideal for all playing styles and court surfaces. The footwear is also the perfect compliment, both in color and style, to the Reebok Speed and Classic tennis apparel collections.

Nearly a year in the making, this footwear was inspired by both Williams and Roddick, who contributed significantly to the design and development of each of their individual shoes. They will each sport this collection at Grand Slam matches throughout 2003.

"When one looks at how the sport of tennis has progressed over the last 10 years, we felt the need to enroll our athletes early on was a crucial step in the creation process," says Todd Fisher, Reebok's category director of tennis. "Given that both Venus and Andy play the game with considerable strength and power, we needed to engineer the footwear around their specific needs. Not only does the technology fit their needs, the styling and details of the shoes capture the personality of each player. The shoes offered at retail will be the exact same models worn on the court by Williams and Roddick."

In an industry first, the shoes will feature a flag jewel in the TPU heel clip mirroring the event of that season: the Australian flag in Q1 in honor of the Australian Open; the French flag in Q2 for the French open; the British flag in Q3 for Wimbledon; and the American flag in Q4 for the U.S Open.

Below is a breakdown of each of the different upcoming styles in the Reebok Tennis League footwear collection:

VESW DMX: Launches January 1, 2003 for a suggested retail price of $99.99 in women's sizes 5 through 12. Built on Reebok's DMX technology platform, the VESW features grenade constructed style for a low-to-the-ground feel, internal skeletal structure for comfort and stability, forefoot zipper that forms a stretchable shroud over the laces for continuous foot coolness and comfort, PU sockliner with Venus' signature provides maximum comfort and durability, a TPU heel clip for added rear stability and a "V" design on the rear quarter for a jazzy look. Available in three colorways -- strong grey/citrus, white/navy and blue chalk/blue rising.

FIGJAM DMX: Launches January 1, 2003 for a suggested retail price of $99.99 in men's sizes 6.5 through 14, as well as 15. The first tennis footwear to launch in both a night version (shield grey/black/silver colorway) and a day version (white/shield grey/citrus colorway), as Roddick will choose one of the two colorways based on the time of day. A third colorway white/navy is also available. Features include grenade construction for a low-to-the-ground feel, DMX technology for superior comfort, PU sockliner with Andy's signature provides maximum comfort and durability, a TPU heel clip for added rear stability and a forefoot air-flow exchange to enhance breathability (a key feature desired by Roddick).

Other models from the R.T.L. collection include the Bonzer II DMX, Kickserve DMX and Qualifier DMX. All models in this collection are designed using Reebok's DMX technology for additional cushioning, PU sockliner for all around comfort, TPU transition bridge to give torsional stability for added support and a newly developed high-abrasive rubber compound that offers durability and traction. Each style is available in a variety of colorways to hook into both the Reebok Speed and Classic tennis apparel collections. All shoes in this collection launch January 1, 2003.
