View Full Version : What if... Carla Suarez Navarro wins the tournament?

 i'm sure everyone would kill themselves. :D

Realistically speaking, if all things went in favor of Carla...
She's playing Pennetta tomorrow, who isn't the most consistent player. Radwanska is not super consistent either, and Radwanska could beat Jankovic so Carla might not have to beat Jankovic. Ivanovic might lose to Schnyder or Srebotnik (probably not Cetkovska), and Schnyder or Srebotnik can be mentally fragile. Then in the finals, all of her possible opponents are not beacons of consistency, minus sharapova, but clay is not her surface. Also, She beat an in-form Dellacqua. and a collapsing Momosmo. Lastly, she's a relatively young player, which is why we may not have heard about her.

Realistically speaking, not in favor of Carla...
She's.. well.. Carla Suarez Navarro... and she's never been ranked above 120.

So, following your logic:

She beat an in-form Casey Dellacqua on CLAY, and now she can beat someone like Kuznetsova in the final? :help:

Someone like Sharapova, Or Dementieva, Or Jankovic or Ivanovic :)

Now it makes more sense right? :yeah:

Well yes but in this twisted world Jankovic and Ivanovic had already lost to Radwanska and Schnyder, remember?

I think it would be very intriguing to see Carla do well here, though. I think winning is very out of the question, but I understand your point. I'm not really sure how people would react, to answer your question...well, actually I know how Justine would react.

Whay you rolleyes?? Jankovic vs Radwanska 6-3 6-2

i said, IF everything went in Carla's favor, then Radwanska would beat Jankovic, meaning that Jankovic is a more difficult opponent than Radwanska. And yes, it is possible that Radwanska will beat Jankovic, even though Jankovic is the more likely winner.

No need to defend if it's not necessary :p.

Is she good just on a clay or all surfaces ? I have never seen her play , but I want to put some money on her today against Pennetta

I don't mind seeing Carla win, but I doubt it, but it'll be funny if she did because every single person who's being saying WTA is lacking in depth and etc is going to town with this :o

I've never even heard of Carla before she went h2h with Amelie. :o

I'm hoping that JJ can win this tournament (though I like a lot of the other players), but I think a Carla win would be amazing. :D It would be awesome... But whatever happens, she's had the tournament of dreams - qualifying, beating Amélie in Paris, she's kept on going... :)

Vamos Carla!!

if she win the tournament, that would mean that she is the best player of this tournament and producing an enough quality of tennis to win it.
She is amazingly calm and in control in her last matchs.Watching her play,I wont be that surprised if she makes other upsets there...

she has a real and pleasant claycourt game, really consistent not like some top players there who are playing like sh***.
If she manage to beat the last players there, she deserves her win.Good luck to her.

If Carla won the French Open this year, most of the tennis world would probably drop dead on the spot........

Not more than if its sharapova who win it:rolleyes:

suarez navarro has way better game to win than the russian,she is really knowing what playing on clay means;
we cant say that there were many good matchs for that first week there, especially from top players.:tape:
So if she win, that wouldnt be a scandal.

I'd love for her to win it but unfortunately I think it may be a bit early in her career to go all the way in a grand slam. It will be interesting to see what she does after the FO. I hope she keeps going in an upward direction as her style of tennis definitely adds some variety to the game.
