no. not in terms of how she played and not in terms of the quality of her opponents.
like ESPN commentators kept saying she's played more than her fair share of stinkers at RG.

I think losing to Schett was her worst or maybe Sesil, but she made QF so that kinda makes it less of a bad loss:o

Yes, it was one of her worst losses but not her last. She did play like shit but only because woman across the nest took away her game and out smarted, out hit and just was the superior player.

I actually think Serena's loss was much more degrading and humiliating. I’m sure thats why she said she didn’t want to be there. My God, a straight set loss to a club level c player.

no she wasn't. It was because of that match Wimbledon went to 32 seeds. Schett was like top 20.

You are talking about Barbara Schwartz.

huh? she was no. 20 or something.

i voted for the schett match, because it was a first round. but for the performance only, it was certainly against karatantcheva, one of the worst matches i've ever seen venus play.

oops i meant schwartz was outside the top 100. The Barbara's are prolly Venus' worst losses followed by Sesil.

Karatantcheva, of course. A grown woman losing to a 15-year-old girl is bad enough, but a PREGNANT 15-year-old girl?

Karatancheva for me (some others are bad too but this one was pathetic).

i think that loss has set the tone for Venus at RG from then on. The Pennetta loss doesn't look that bad compared to the standard she set for poor playign at RG against Karatancheva.

The fact is that Red Clay is not the ideal surface for the Williams Sisters game, which is primarily based on power. Venus is 28, slightly past her physical prime, and will never win the FO. Serena got her one FO during her best year, before the peak of Justine. I doubt Serena will ever win the FO again.
