Whitney Houston's stunning London performance

Whitney Houston stunned her critics last night by delivering a spectacular performance in aid of the Caudwell Children charity.

Dressed to kill, Whitney wore Chopard diamond earrings and a diamond ring from the luxury jewellers AND was paid £100,000.

But the real surprise came when the diva brought daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 15, on stage to join her for a rendition of My Love is Your Love.

Bobbi was recently said to be in a psychiatric ward after allegedly trying to stab her mother and then commit suicide.

But Whitney told the crowd, which included Joan Collins and Buzz Aldrin: "This is the love of my life."

Despite attempts to keep media out, theBuzz sneaked a peek at Whitneyís one hour set at Battersea Evolution.

Donning a tight dress by British designers Bodyamr, Whitney, 44, performed several hits including I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Saving All My Love and, of course, I Will Always Love You.

Whitney, whose career was halted by drug abuse and who in 2006 ended a turbulent relationship with Bobby Brown, told the audience: "Iím back in the studio and working on new tracks.

"Itís an honour to be here. Iíve had ups and downs, but itís all good." Sandi Thom, an opening act for the American star, confided in theBuzz: "This is probably the most nerve-racking moment of my life."

The event raised £1.5m and a dinner date with Joan Collins was auctioned off for £200,000.

David Gest: Whitney Houston is Back
Posted May 9th 2008 11:33AM by TMZ Staff

Liza Minnelli's ex man-wife David Gest bedazzled the crowd at a London charity event on Thursday -- literally.

The 54-year-old divorcee wore an absolutely faaaabulous jacket with an image of a sparkling drill-holding Whitney Houston on it . It's not right, but it's not ok!

While Whitney headlined the event, David's flamboyant ensemble stole the show.

I can't see any security guards so one can only assume that Bobbi Kristina delivered her part of the duet in a straight jacket.

Whitney does look :hearts:.

I'd pay £200,000 for a dinner date with Joan Collins - I'd bet she's got hundreds of interesting tales to tell.

I can't wait for some clips to be on youtube.
I knew she still had her voice in there somewhere.
Crack doesn't fuck up the vocals as much as alcohol does.
Just ask Dionne Warwick and Mariah Carey.

In my best Margaret Cho voice:
That is the gayest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

David Gest is the bloke that married Liza Minelli right ?

Wearing that jacket ought to be punishable by death.

Stunning indeed! I can't wait to hear audio clips, wishing for a video seems to big of dream, so I'll settle for audio.

They showed video from last year of Tina Turner,
and likely will as well of Whitney.

There are worse punishments in this world than death.
Marrying Liza Minelli has to be up there with having a threesome with Larry King and Barbera Walters. :tape:

Britney is supposedly working to have her album out around the same time as Whitney is. And Brit's people actually believe they'll come out on top. If radio is receptive to Whitney and she has quality material I think it's going to be HUGE for her.

Can't wait to see her on stage in person. There's nothing like seeing that woman live!!

Agreed. Which is why I don't understand why this guy is still in my face or on my TV screen.

If I were him, I'd have crawled under a rock long ago.

I reckon you've hit the nail on the head BTW - only a gay man could love Liza Minelli enough to marry her. The jacket pales in comparison and that's really saying something.

I'm bracing myself for a duet with Diana Ross or details of a 'romantic' comedy starring him and Cher next week.

If her material isn't top notch...she's gonna get an ass spanking from BS...

Britney always launches hot tunes...and shes got the public behind her for the guilt of tormenting her...

Her comeback is much more anticipated...

That being said...Britneys voice sounds like a queef compared to the amazing Whitney

If you think that's bad, one of my friends wore a black sparkly t-shirt (similar to David's) of FANTASIA out of the house and to her concert and was in the front row! He is now know as Fantasia to his friends.
