In 1998, Amelie, as a qualifier, made her first WTA tour final in Berlin at the age of 19, beating Davenport (#2) and Novotna (#3) en route (her first Top 10 wins). In final she lost to clay court specialist Conchita Martinez. She was the lowest-ranked player (No.65) to beat two of Top 3 in same event and was also the first qualifier and fourth-lowest-ranked woman at the time to reach a Tier I final. 10 years later, after an impressive show in Fed Cup in Japan, I'm sure she'll do something great on the first big tournament held on red clay!

Not to mention her great record here: 30-7, including two titles in 2001 & 2004 and 6 top 10 victories :yeah:
