5 Israelis died in Bolivia because of a car accident.
They say its because of the drive in the long desert for hours where you don't see any cars, its dangerous if you suddently see a car and you can crash into it. There are no fuel stations at the desert so they have to travel with gas, so when the trucks crash, you can guess what happened..
R.I.P
I was wondering what attracts people there, to me driving hours in the desert sounds kinda boring, I mean maybe the scenary is nice for a while, but surely i'll get tired of it real quick.
Anyone ever been there and care tell something about that place?

I went there 2 years ago. It's not a sand desert. The scenery is out of this world.
But the jeep drivers can be stupid sometimes. When I was there at one point our driver decided to do a race with another jeep. It was pretty funny but something bad could have happened for sure.
I was there last December for about 2 weeks. It is very beautiful. There is so much salt there it just goes on forever, and it's so flat too. And every 20 minutes or so the scenery changes. It's very dramatic and stunning scenery.
No luxuries though
Very sorry to hear about this car accident
I did a tour for 5 days with our own driver and cook. I think that's what these Israeli's would have done too.
Your photos are great to:lol: It looks like an interesting place a once in a lifetime experience

canuckfan, it looks like we went to the same places  :hearts: I think there are 5 big lakes in the whole Salar de Uyuni, one red, green, blue and two others.
There are also some hot springs there which are really nice and the Isla de Pescado which is like an island surrounded by flat, white salt and the island is full of cacti like up to 20-30 metres tall.
I was photographed and interviewed by some Danish journalists there actually-- I was in a Danish newspaper
And there are many volcanoes there too, one I was lucky enough to climb. Also like a tomb with mummies over 500 years old still with hair and teeth :scared:
