Vaidisova Hopes For Strong Showing In Miami
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/2312/aodresszf0.jpg
Nicole Vaidisova is hoping to continue her winning form at the Sony Ericsson Open. After reaching the finals in Banglore and winning in Indian Wells Vaidisova is brimming with confidence. Winning however wont be an easy task as Vaidisova will have to go through the talented Ivanovic in the quarters who won their last match handily in the AUstrallian Open Quarter Finals. However if Vaidisova is able to serve well and control her forehand the rest of the field should watch out
One of your fellow members on the tour, Tatiana Golovin is injured. Have you reached out to her at all?
**laughs* Is that what she is telling everyone. I don't buy it for a second. She is clearly trying to escape the shame of all of her recent embarrassing losses. I cant believe she is still in the top 10.
You've had disagreements with a lot of the girls on tour. Is there anyone you get along with?
Of course. Moore, Sharapova, and the Williams Sisters are wonderful girls. Cibulkova and I aren't exactly friends but I certainly respect her as a player.
Now that you have won your first title what are you future goals for OWTT?
Winning Wimbledon of course.
Tatiana Golovin of France suffered another bad loss, as she fell in first round in Miami to Ioana Raluca Olaru. The former world number 1 is struggling to find her form after suffering an injury blow a few weeks ago and she had no answer to Olaru's great performance. The one-sided match ended in an hour and 15 minutes with Ioana winning 6:2, 6:4
A short interview with Tatiana after the match
Tatiana, this must be getting quite frustrating, right?
"Yeah, it really is. I thought I was starting to find my form and the injury wasn't that bad lately, but I don't know as soon as I play a match my ankle is so painful I can’t even move...It's more of a mental thing now I guess."
A few players accused you of faking the injury?
"Oh please, let me guess who. Nicole Vaidisova, Jessica Moore and Davenport right?"
Right.
"Wow, that's a shocker (laughter). I swear this is all coming from Vaidisova. The other two bitches are too stupid to have an opinion of their own (laughter). The bitch needs to mind her own business and enjoy the success she's having. I mean the poor thing finally managed to win a title after many, many attempts, quite sad really. This is an extremely pathetic thing to say, but expected from a low class tramp like Nicole."
Your thoughts on today's match.
"Well, I'm sucking at the moment (laughter). I think I'm falling out of the top 10 soon and deservingly so I might add. So yeah, not a big surprise, but my opponent played well...I think. Did she? I'm sorry, I can't remember really."
So what do you have to do to get on top of your game again?
"Obviously I have to get through this injury first, you know, and then we can expect some better results from me. And I promise they will come."
Any last words?
"Just...don't rule me out. I feel my time is coming."
I was play unbelivable match today against Dokic, I am not too sure what was happen on the match with her, she was so fragile, her shots weren't that good, I mean very flat, and there were no power ground stroke coming from her forehand or backhand, she just wasn't able to compete against someone as great as myself!
COME ON SHAHAR!!!! :worship::bigclap::hearts::bounce::woohoo:

Peer Pushes Past Moore
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b241/FlamingoSpice/wonn.jpg
Israel's Shahar Peer reacts after defeating Jessica Moore in the round of 16 in Miami. Peer now leads a 4-0 head to head against Moore.
Israel's Shahar Peer continued her unbeaten streak against Australia's Jessica Moore. In the round of 16, Peer rallied to save a match point and then went on to defeat Moore in a marathon match; 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 and stretched her head to head to an amazing 4-0. Although they haven't had the best friendship on tour, Peer had nothing but positive things to say about Moore.
"She played a great match today. It was the best match I've played against her. She was playing very agressive and she kept playing consistantly. I was able to regroup after saving the match point and turn the level of my game up."
Moore broke Peer's service in the second set to go up 5-4 and had a chance to serve for the match. She was up 40-30 before she hit a sloppy second serve to which Peer responded to with a fierce forehand winner down the line. After the match, a shocking display of friendliness between the two stunned all.
"We've been able to put our differences aside and respect one another. We've played a lot of great matches and I can't wait to see how we play each other next time."
In her quarterfinal match, Peer will take on her Fed Cup teammate, Ioana Olaru. In other news, the world's new number one, Nicole Vaidisova was stunned in straight sets in the second round by Agnes Szavay. It was her first match as the world's number one and she blew it, furthering rumors of her being a fluke number one.
"It's definently embarrassing to go out like that, especially when you're supposed to be the world's top ranked player. But oh well, hopefully I will return to where I'm supposed to be next week." Peer said with a little laugh.

Sharapova played a great match here against Szavay. She had to fight really hard to dig herself out of a 3-5 hole in the second, but had enough in the tank to bring it home. Sharapova seems to have finally found some decent form, and things are definitely looking good for here here in Miami!

What a choke from Hingis - she was 3-1 up in the second, and 5-1 up in the third and couldn't finish the match :smash: Kudos to Dechy though for hanging tough and rallying her way back into this one. She makes consecutive Tier I semis and is playing even better this week!

Dechy def. Sharapova 6-0 5-7 6-1
Sharapova was lucky to escape here without the dreaded double-bagel! Her game plan has seen her go deep here this week, but she will never win a tournament with this kind of plan. At the business end of the tournament, the players are too smart to fall for the big bang theory. Dechy moves on into her second final, following her run to the final in Indian Wells last week. She will be hoping to go one step further though this week!

Olaru sends the #2 seed out in impressive fashion. Dulko did well to hustle from 2-5 in the second set, but it wasn't enough as Olaru came out on top on the big points at the end of the second set. Congratulations to Olaru, who joins Shahar Peer as a multiple titlist on OWTT. She now holds two Tier I titles to her name - a very impressive feat. Heartbreak for Dechy as she loses her second consecutive final, but she has still had a great two weeks. Olaru was simply devastating all week, breezing her way to the title without dropping a set, which is a first on OWTT. With both players' stellar performances this week, they are both projected to break into the Top 8 when the new rankings are released :)
