this came out of nowhere for me because i didn't even know he had been charged, nut what he did was really bad including trying to avoid over 5 million in taxes and apparently linking up with a couple tax fraud artists (who, btw, got longer sentences than wesley did).

I wonder will he actually serve the full amount. His imprisonment will probably cause a lot of problems for whichever prison he is sent to.

Getting 3 years for tax evasion seems rather harsh to me. Can't he just pay a huge fine? They were misdemeanors. I guess he pissed off the government by hiding in Namibia for a while though.

Didnt he file for a $7 million refund for taxes he paid back in the 1990s? That is, not only did he stop paying taxes, but he went ahead and asked IRS for the money he gave them way back when he was paying. When I read that (yesterday), I gave up my plans of being a Hollywood actor. I'm scared what that place would do to my reasoning. Yeah, you make money off of the Blade flix, but what are the costs? The sh*t cuts both ways.

Totalitarian facist socialist statial power strikes again :rocker2:

Putting people in jail for nothing- first David Irving, then Wesley Snipes..Whos next? I heard that 4th Reich (a.k.a. Germany) is very offensive in case of some buisnessmen who decided to playing taxes in Liechtenstein. Maybe enslaving some of them would be good idea?

For nothing?

He has been evading taxes for several years, over a decade....
he was given many opportunities to make it right, to get it set
straight. He declined. He did not feel he should pay taxes at all
in the beginning.

He is getting off easy considering the millions involved, and
the years that it took place, and the ways he tried to avoid
taxes, and, yes, tried to get refunds for other years....

Wesley Snipes did get special treatment - he's getting off easy.

You or I do this, we're toast.

He will not serve 3 years.
He'll appeal it, he'll get it reduced to almost nothing, if actually
nothing.

He's not a scapegoat.
He got caught.

A poor grandma and grandpa who get caught up in something a bad
tax preparer did, or something their kids did without their knowledge
w/their money, that's a sob story....this isn't one.

:cat: I have doubt that anyone (non-Pole) on this forum knows David Irving.

You're extremist, saint2, you know?

I heard on ET that he has to do atleast 2.5 years of the 3 years . Btw, has anyone looked at his IMDB.COM filmography lately ? Almost all of Wesleys movies have gone str8 to DVD since Blade: Trinity. I heard a rumor that he is black listed by all of the major hollywood directors and studios because of an "incident" . Does anyone have any idea what happened ? Anyways, i have allot of Wesleys 90s films. His performance in The Waterdance was amazing:worship:! He was (still is ) an amazing actor when given a good role.:bounce:

Yes it was because of that "incident".

He deserved to get punished but the ironic part about it is that he'll spend more time in jail than the three cops that killed Sean Bell.
