It's going to be a tough match for Vera... I hope she's mentally ready and can stay focused, in order to ignore Serena's grunts and "commons"

Their Beijing '04 SF and USO '07 3R were great. And Serena's first two wins over Vera were in three sets. Their H2H is fairly tight, all things considering.

I don't mind who wins, I like both. I just want a good match.

when i first saw the draw i thought only 2 people could defeat serena here 1) jelena and the 2) vera
and was thanking that both of them were in the other half of the draw
but hoping serena pulls it through though am scared here

I certainly think Vera can push Serena, maybe even to three sets. But I have huge doubts as to if she can hold leads and close things out.

I think Vera is more than capable of getting herself into a winning position. It's how she handles the moment against a fierce Serena that'll count.

Serena's fight will prove to be too much, she'll win in three sets, something like 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.

I would be great for Vera to win a big tournie but Serena will be tough to beat.Both have very good start of the year but Vera needs the title more so I hope she can be strong mentally and bring her best game.

Two sets. I like Vera but with the way Serena is returning she's going to be broken at least once a set.
