Was it a tank job? Aga played too many 3 setters recently...

Congrats Patty, show everyone that you still can do harm. :yeah:

Nice win for Patty! I love her game for clay, such a natural mover on this surface. GL next round!

Hopefully this win is the beginning of many more and she's out of hte funk she's been in for more than a year.

This is actually a great win for Schnyder. She's been struggling for a long time, and this should give her some confidence. However, you never know with Patty. She could lose her next match 1 & 2.

To lose to Patty on her current form means that Rada must've played quite badly indeed :spit:

current forms doesn't mean anything with Patty. take a look at her form going into her previous runs in Charleston. not much better.

the hilarious thing is that with one of her big runs here Patty could go back in (or very close to) the top 10 and he's got a sizable gap back to no.12  after the year she's had.

You people. This match was AMAZING. Patty played the best tennis I had seen from her in YEARS, bar none. Radwanska could do nothing against this magician at the peak of her powers.

This was no tank job. Congratulations Patty. Now lose.

But well done Patty :yeah:

This was exactly the same thing Patty did to Vaidisova in Charleston a few years ago. Radwanska never knew what hit her--Patty wouldn't let her set any rhythm at all, and she threw everything at her that she has ever had to throw. For Patty fans, it was an amazing thing to see.

It was nice to see her play so confidently in her abilities, but I don't know about best tennis in YEARS.

Her forehand was on today but her serve was so bad. Thank God Radwanska had no idea what to do with Patty's drop shots or else this could have been a lot closer. I haven't seen Patty hit so many drop shots since 2005 maybe.

Radwanska hasn't been the same since losing to Larcher de Brito.

Well done, Patty! :D

you must have missed her loss to Dellacqau :tape: some of the worst drop shots ever played in that match. i call them Patty's "drop lobs".

Nice to here she still has the capacity to play well though :)

clay isn't Radwanska's thing.

I agree with this actually.

Add the fact that Aga is tired and that Schnyder is a fine player who I personally think matches up quite well against Aga and this was always going to be a tough match. The penny had to drop at some point.

A week off and Aga will be fine. That said, I would regard clay as being Aga's worst surface, although she's not that bad on it, and the grass season and summer hardcourt season will undoubtably be better.

Can't agree with this one. Radwanska is a great clay-court player. She won the junior French Open title without losing a set, and all of them were won pretty convincingly!

Remember Radwanska's first ever WTA tourney?
It was Warsaw and she blasted past Myskina and Koukalova, only to lose to Dementieva in three sets.
And hey - who doesn't lose to Lena in three sets...???

I think You are wrong. Szavay won the junior RG. Aga won Wimby. Beating Agnes in the semis. Agnes was the premier clay courter of their generation. Obviously that doesn't change the fact that Agnieszka might be an excellent clay-courter...just for the record...:)

O dear. If it's just for the record, you should check your sources again. Agnieszka won junior Wimbledon in 2005 and junior RG in 2006. After that (in 2006 still) she was given a wildcard to play in the Wimbledon MD, where she reached the 4th round.
