Serena Williams was officially named U.S.A. team captain after her good run in Dubaï. She now had to face some difficult choices. She had to chose who was gonna play at the Fed Cup in her team. Including herself, there is 5 American players on OWTT. These five players are Serena and her sister Venus, Lindsay Davenport, American number 2, Jennifer Capriati and Ashley Harkleroad.

Serena announced her choices in a pres conference tonight, when announcing her choices for the single matches, she said "I and Lindsay will be the one defending the honour of our country in singles. I thought about putting Venus in one of the single matches insted of I or Lindsay, but I thought about it and I think Venus just had to prove she deserved it but she didn't do it till here and Lindsay did. Jennifer and Ashley were not even taken in consideration." So yup, Reena made no surprise or controversy, going with the logical choices.

For what's about the doubles, maybe some of the girls on the team will be dissapointed, but Reena listened to her heart chosing the pair, she said " Venus and I will be the one playing the doubles match. I seriously thought about all the other girls, they could all have played it, but I think that my sister and I have a little something that the others do not have while playing doubles."
