Serena winning 5/6 Slam finals pretty much gives you the answer - NO.

Of course they do..... Venus loves only having 6 slams instead of 11... and lacking a "venus slam"

Damn those sisters, don't they know they are supposed to draw every time they play?

Exactly.

But what I will say from experience is that matches against a sibling have a lot of different emotions including not always wanting to win as much as you would against other players but that certainly doesn't mean they fix the matches beforehand.

No.

But I'll bite. Back in 2001, Serena (and the Williams family) was booed in the Indian Wells final largely because Venus withdrew from their semifinal match. This gave Serena a free-pass into the final.

I can see why one of them not turning up to their match might seem suspicious. Remember that, that was a semifinal match which means the more rest you have, the fresher you'll be for the final. But to their credit, that was the only time that's happened.

That doesn't mean they deserved the crowd's behaviour in the final but if they were fixing their matches, that would be the only plausible example.

On the other hand, Davydenko fixes his matches and that's actually been proven.

Of course they fix the matches after all why would they want to have to figure out who has to carry the big check home...

...and which side of the room the big trophy goes on...

...these are problems that only fixing the match can alleviate. :)

You might as well suspect Justine-Jelena matches are "fixed" because of the 9-0 record :tape:

No. They both want to win too much to deliberately throw a match. If you played a sibling you'd understand.
