Mazatlán [masaˈtlan] is a city in the Mexican (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico)state (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_of_Mexico) of Sinaloa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinaloa); the surrounding municipio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipio) (municipality) for which the city serves as the municipal seat is also called Mazatlán. It is located at 23°12′N, 106°25′W (http://tools.wikimedia.de/~magnus/geo/geohack.php?params=23_12_N_106_25_W_) on the Pacific (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Ocean) coast, just across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baja_California_peninsula).
Mazatlán is a Nahuatl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nahuatl) word meaning "place of the deer." The city was founded in the 1820s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1820). By the mid-1800s a large group of immigrants had arrived from Germany (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany). These new citizens developed Mazatlán into a thriving commercial seaport, importing equipment for the nearby gold and silver mines. It served as the capital of Sinaloa from 1859 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1859) to 1873 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1873). They also influenced the music, Banda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banda), which is an alteration of Bavarian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bavaria) folk music.
Mazatlán, with a population of 352,471 (city) and 403,888 (municipality) as of the 2005 census, is the second-largest city in the state (after Culiacán (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culiac%C3%A1n)) and Mexico's largest commercial port. It is also a popular tourist destination, its beaches lined with resort hotels. A car ferry plies its trade across the Gulf of California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_California) from Mazatlán to La Paz, Baja California Sur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Paz%2C_Baja_California_Sur). The municipality has a land area of 3,068.48 km˛ (1,184.75 sq mi) and includes smaller outlying communities such as Villa Unión (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Villa_Uni%C3%B3n%2C_Sinaloa&action=edit)

IV Isla de Fuerteventura (Corralejo - La Oliva)

Surface: Carpet

http://www.holiday-beds-direct.com/images/resorts/corralejo%20beach.jpeg

Fuerteventura, a Spanish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain)island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island), is one of the Canary Islands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canary_Islands), in the Atlantic Ocean (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_Ocean) off the coast of Africa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa). It is situated at 28°20' north, 14°00' west. At 1,660 km˛ it is also the second largest of the islands
The first settlers are believed to have arrived here from North Africa - the word Mahorero (Majorero) or Maho is still used today to describe the people of Fuerteventura and comes from the ancient word 'mahos' meaning a type of goatskin shoe worn by the original inhabitants. They lived in caves and semi-subterranean dwellings, a few of which have been discovered and excavated revealing relics of early tools and pottery. In antiquity, the island was known as Planaria, among other names, in reference to the flatness of most of its landscape.
In the 11th century BC, the Phoenician (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenicia) settlers arrived in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. In 850 BC, the island was mentioned by Homer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homer) in the Odyssey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odyssey), the Canary Islands as Insulae Fortunatae.
Several Spanish and Portuguese expeditions occurred in about 1340 around the island and the island were inhabited by Maurs and were afflicted with European slave holders
The elongated island has an area of 1660 km˛. The island is 100 km long from and 31 km wide.
It is part of the province of Las Palmas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Palmas_%28province%29).

Bol is a small town on the south of the island of Brač (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brac) in the Split-Dalmatia county (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Split-Dalmatia_county) of Croatia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatia), population 1,661 (2001).
Bol is renowned for its beach the Zlatni rat (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Zlatni_rat&action=edit) ("Golden cape"). It is a promontory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promontory) composed mostly of pebble rock that shifts with the tidal movement. The water at Zlatni rat is quite crystalline. The rocks beneath the boat that are 30 feet down they look only an arm's length away, and there are spectacular pine trees that grow down the middle of Zlatni rat (there is a beach on either side of the horn). Bol itself is a very popular tourist destination and has a number of harbourside bars and restaurants.
