NEW DIARY ENTRY



April 14 , 2007

Hey Everyone! I know it’s been ages since I wrote my
last entry. In fact I believe this is my first entry
for the year. I hope you’ve been all patient enough to
look forward to my new entry. Where to begin? Happy
New Year to Everyone. Well a lot had happened for the
past four months, Time does fly . My year didn’t
really kicked off well as planned but it’s not too
late yet. Despite of rough times I must say I had a
fair year already as far as tennis is concern. So far
the highlight of my year is winning Open Gaz de
France in Paris. Unfortunately I suffered some few
injuries already after Paris. Despite of what I’m
going through I always try to stay positive no matter
what. I hope to build my confidence and strength
within the next few months, We’ll see how it goes : ).
Before I forget I would like to personally thank All
my fans for remembering my birthday. Thanks to the
wonderful messages you posted and most of all Thank
you for the patience . I know how eager you all are to
hear from me. I just would like to let you all know
despite of not writing a new diary entry I still
manage to find time here and there to read my messages
on my website. I will surely try my best to keep you
updated about my on court and off court activities :
). As some of you may know already I lost in the third
round in Miami and Amelia. What can I say? But to stay
positive and look forward to play much better in the
upcoming tournaments. I’m currently in Charleston for
the first time this year. I actually look forward to
playing here. I’ve heard so many good things about
Charleston from other tennis players. I surely hope I
can play my best tennis here. Wish me Good Luck ; ).

Anyway I really had a hectic schedule in Miami. I
Believed I did four photo shoots . One for French
Tennis Magazine, One for a catalog, I forgot the
third, Sorry, and Lastly one for adidas. I don’t know
when my pictures will come out but hopefully you’ll
get to see them soon, I’m excited myself too : ). Well
I haven’t really done anything special in Miami, maybe
one . The players party I guess. For the record I
didn’t get drunk, I didn’t get loose I just went there
to show some support . And I just wanted to wear the
dress I bought. Be sure to check my Exclusive Red
carpet moment in the Gallery. It’s always fun to dress
up once in awhile. After all where not just tennis
players where also normal young ladies who loves
clothes ; ). Other than the party I just stayed most
of the time in my hotel. By the way You all want to
hear an interesting story in Amelia? ;). Here goes
After I lost third round I decided to stay the
remainder of my week. Two days before I was scheduled
to leave Amelia I dropped off my laundry bag in the
players services. So when I came back the next day
they just said to me casually “ Anna there’s a small
problem, I asked them what happened? They said “We
can’t seemed to find your laundry, it’s missing. I was
shocked. I didn’t really know how to react, my jaw
just dropped. I mean I know it happens once in a while
but with everything so organized in the resort I
would never expect of all things and of all people it
happened to me. And for the record I just got my
clothes in Miami. Most of my tennis clothes were
there. From practice clothes to match clothes. I even
had my personal clothes there, which I just bought in
Miami. My dad’s Laundry was there as well. They said
they were willing to get me new stuff, It didn’t
really made sense. I mean don’t get me wrong but I
only get my stuff every few months, new stuff at
least. They really felt bad of what happened and they
can’t really blame me if I got upset, But what can I
do? Whoever found them and sort of wearing them I hope
they’re happy. Kudos. Anyways I’ll stop here and
continue in my next entry, which will be in a few
days, I’ll tell you bout my road trip and thoughts
about Charleston. Again Thank, you so much for
visiting my website, many new changes are still coming
soon. Always stay tuned . By the way special thanks to
all my fans who wrote me and send me stuff from all
over the world, Sorry for the delay but I will try my

In earlier days there was the beautiful Anna with two n’s, now there is the beautiful Ana with one ‘n’. But we are talking here today about the sad Anna, again with two n’s. Soon she will probably move to Belgium.

Does Anna Chakvetadze usually walk around like she's just been told her favorite dog has died, yesterday, when we met her for our interview she looked even twice as sad.

Leaning in a little leather chair, she just answered the questions about her match with a simple “yes” or “no”. As the #6 in the world, she was the highest ranked player who lost in the second round in Paris.

Chakvetadze, the player with the longest plat in women’s tennis history, is perhaps the most talented of all the Russian women tennis players, but for a year her tennis (development) seems to have got stuck. The 21 year old from Moscow got coached by her father and still has difficulty to control her emotions. Last Thursday, after her loss with 64 76 to Kaia Kanepi from Estland, she bursted into tears again. In an effort to climb out of her slump, she has now resorted to nobody less than Carlos Rodrigues. The man who would never coach someone else than Justine Henin.

“As you can see, I'm in need of a good coach,” said Chakvetadze. “And Carlos is a good coach.”

This morning, Carlos affirmed the news, but was quick to add he didn’t feel like traveling around the world with her. “She gets a coach from the Academy. In between the tournaments I can guide her here in Belgium. But she will have to accept she will have to make a lot of sacrifices. She has great potential, but is physically not in good shape.”

The collaboration also means that gloomy Anna will move to Belgium. Or, how our country, after Kim and Justine, will get a “Belgian” successor after all.

Good luck to Anna with her new coach Carlos Rodrigues. Anna's shocking loss to Kanepi at Roland Garros was so dissapointing. But she's young and can bounce back. This was always going to be a year of adjustments for Anna playing as a star and with high expectations. Now she needs to get her fighting spirit and ability to play clutch tennis back especially in the grand slams.

Hey everyone!

It’s been awhile so I thought I would give you all an update. I just got back from London a couple days ago. As always, Wimbledon was amazing! It’s a dream come true to be part of it. I made it to the Round of 16, beating Stephanie Dubois, Edina Gallovits, and Evgeniya Rodina. I had a long three-set battle with Nicole Vaidisova, but didn’t come out on top. Hard to take, but it happens. I especially love the Grand Slams… which is why I can’t wait for the US Open! I had a good run last year (semifinals). Hopefully I can win a couple more matches and get the big trophy this year! Before the Open, I’ll be traveling and playing some tournaments.

Life on the road is crazy, but I get to meet some really nice people and see some beautiful places. Definitely worth it!

FROM THE BANK OF THE WEST CLASSIC-Anna Chakvetadze was not mentally or physically in proper shape to defend her Bank of the West title, which is why she fell 6-3, 6-4 to Marion Bartoli in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Credit Bartoli for playing an excellent contest, where she actually outran a faster player and was more steady and aggressive, but this is not the same Russian who ruled much of the summer circuit last year. She’s slower to the ball, missing shots she nailed last year by inches, serving sporadically and not really believing that she can claw her way back into matches.

“I just didn’t feel well,” said Chakvetadze. “It was tough to serve with the heavy balls and my movement was a little slow. I’m not injured, but I played two matches on the first day and I’ve just felt sore. I guess that’s because I haven’t been playing enough matches. She’s was solid and not missing easy balls, but when I’m not moving well I can’t do what I want. I’m disappointed, but I’ll get over it. I have two tournaments ahead and I’m not that far way.”

"She (Bammer) didn't do anything special," Chakvetadze said.

"It was like I was playing myself. I'm disappointed. I had an open draw in this tournament and I didn't take my opportunity."

08.10.2008 Chakvetadze lost in the 1st round

The Russian Anna Chakvetadze lost to the Dutch Caroline Wozniacki 6/2, 1/6, 4/6 in the 1st round.

“The game simply failed”, - said the Russian, who didn’t suppress the disappointment in her play. – I was training the whole week in Moscow, but it didn’t help”.
The tennis player confessed that she is in bad shape and won’t be able to participate in Zurich tournament , but will definitely play in Luxemburg.
