Ramat HaSharon (Hebrew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_language): רָמַת הַשָּׁרוֹן‎, lit. Heights of the Sharon) is a city located on Israel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel)'s central coastal strip in the south of the Sharon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharon%2C_Israel) region, bordering Tel Aviv (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv) to the south and Herzliya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herzliya) and Kibbutz Glil Yam (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Glil_Yam&action=editredlink) to the north. It is part of the Gush Dan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gush_Dan) Tel Aviv metropolitan area and is in the Tel Aviv District (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv_District). The city has a population of 53,004, and interestingly, less than 50% of its municipal area is built up, as it is bordered by two large installations limiting the growth of the city; Israel’s largest fuel and gas center, and the main plant depot of the Israeli military.
Ramat HaSharon was established in 1922 as Ir Shalom (City of Peace), and was first settled one year later, in 1923. Later, in 1932, the city was renamed Kefar Ramat HaSharon (Sharon Heights), with the "Kefar" being officially dropped several years later

Cairo (Arabic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_alphabet): القاهرة transliteration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanization_of_Arabic): Al-Qāhirah), which means "The Vanquisher" or "The Triumphant", is the capital city (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_of_Egypt) of Egypt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egypt). While Al-Qahirah is the official name of the city, in Egyptian Arabic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Arabic) it commonly shares the dialect's name for the country, transliteration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanization_of_Arabic): Masr. It has a metropolitan area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_area) population of about 17.285 million people.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo#_note-0) Cairo is the sixteenth most populous metropolitan area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_metropolitan_areas_by_population) in the world. It is also the most populous metropolitan area in Africa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_metropolitan_areas_in_Africa).[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo#_note-1)
The city was founded in 969 as the royal enclosure for the Fatimid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatimid) caliphs, while the actual economic and administrative capital was in nearby Fustat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fustat). After Fustat was destroyed in 1168/1169 to prevent its capture by the Crusaders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusaders), the administrative capital of Egypt moved to Cairo, where it has remained ever since.

Rome (Italian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_language): Roma, Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin): Roma) is the capital city (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital) of Italy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy) and of the Lazio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazio) region, as well as the country's largest and most populous city, with more than 2.7 million residents.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome#_note-1) The metropolitan area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_area) has a population of about 4 million. It is located in the central-western portion of the Italian peninsula (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_peninsula), where the river Aniene (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aniene) joins the Tiber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiber). The Mayor of Rome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayor_of_Rome) is Walter Veltroni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Veltroni).
An enclave (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enclave) of Rome is the State of the Vatican City (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican_City), the sovereign (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign)territory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Territory) of the Holy See (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_See). It is the smallest nation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation) in the world, and the capital of the only religion that has representation in the United Nations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations) (as a non-voting member state).
Rome, Caput mundi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caput_Mundi) (Capital of the world), la Città Eterna (The Eternal City), Limen Apostolorum (Threshold of the Apostles), la città dei sette colli (The city of the seven hills (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_hills_of_Rome)) or simply l'Urbe (The City),[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome#_note-2) is thoroughly modern and cosmopolitan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmopolitan). As one of the few major European cities that escaped World War II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II) relatively unscathed, central Rome remains essentially Renaissance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance) and Baroque (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baroque) in character. The Historic Center of Rome is listed by UNESCO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Heritage_Site).[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome#_note-3)

Dijon is a city (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commune_in_France) in eastern France (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France), the préfecture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pr%C3%A9fecture) (administrative capital) of the Côte-d'Or (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%B4te-d%27Or) département (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9partement_in_France) and of the Bourgogne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourgogne) région (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%A9gion_in_France). Dijon is the historical capital of the province (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinces_of_France) of Burgundy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgundy). Population (2005): 150,800 for the commune; 236,953 for the greater Dijon area
Dijon began as a Roman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Empire) settlement called Divio, located on the road from Lyon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyon) to Mainz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mainz). Saint Benignus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Benignus_of_Dijon), the city's patron saint (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patron_saint), is said to have introduced Christianity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity) to the area before being martyred. This province was home to the Dukes of Burgundy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_of_Burgundy) from the early 11th century (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11th_century)AD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AD) until the late 1400s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15th_Century) and Dijon was a place of tremendous wealth and power and one of the great European centers of art, learning and science.
Dijon boasts a surprisingly large number of churches and cathedrals, including St. Bénigne, Notre-Dame, St. Étienne, and St. Michel. The crypt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crypt) of Dijon Cathedral (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dijon_Cathedral), dedicated to Saint Benignus, dates from 1,000 years ago, and the city has retained many architectural styles from many of the main periods from the past millennium, including Gothic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_architecture), Renaissance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance_architecture) and Capetian. Many of the still-inhabited houses in the city's central district date from before the 18th century.
