MY COMMENTS:

Domnika CIBULKOVA: Sweet slovakian Dominika is rising the Top Ranking pretty fast. She's now Top 40 after reaching the QF at Doha Tier 1 $2,5M ousting 9th seed/n°12 Schnyder and 6th seed/n°7 Venus Williams without dropping a set. She fall in Quater in a fierce battle of teenagers to 16th seed/n°20 Agnieszka Radwanska.

Sara ERRANI: Like Knapp, Sara is among the new promising italian generation. She's breaking the Top 60 this week after reaching the QF at Bogota Tier III $185K. She was stopped by surprising qualifer and eventual winner n°135 Llagostera Vives.

Maria Emilia SALERNI: At 24, Maria Emilia reached her ever final on the WTA Tour. As most of the south american player, Maria is revealing her A Game on clay...Last week, she was Runner up at Bogota TIer III upsetting young talent 2nd seed/n°49 Cornet en route...before falling to anther clay specialist qualifer () n°135 Llagostera Vives.

Sorana CIRSTEA: Sorana is the 4th girl born in 1990 to break the Top 100 (after Paszek, Wozniacki and Cornet). She's also starting her life on the WTA circuit this year. Last week, she made it to the 2nd rd at Bogota Tier III beating n°77 Pin before losing to 9th seed/n°69Muller.

Ayumi MORITA: Another talented teenage born in 1990! Ayumi reached the 2nd as qualifer at Doha Tier I ousting 7th seed/n°92 Ditty in the qualies. In the main draw, she proved her talented double bothsides groundstrokes to beat n°52 Vesnina before falling in 3 sets to n°41 veteran compatriot Sugiyama.

Monica NICULESCU: Like Morita, Monica made it to the 2nd rd as a qualifer at Doha Tier I beating LL/n°92 Ditty in the main draw 1rst rd before battling but losing in 3 sets to 15th seed/n°19 Bammer.

Marina ERAKOVIC: New Zealander bigger hopes is rising in the World Ranking after a solid australian challenger Tour. After winning at Mildura $25K, she was Runner Up at Berri $25K falling to surprising n°598 Kriz.

Carla SUAREZ NAVARRO: One of the many good surprise at Bogota Tier III. Young Carla reached her ever 1rst WTA SF as a qualifer! In the qualies, she ousted back in form Top seed/n°79 Domachowska and 8th seed/n°158 Martinez Sanchez. Carla kept her efficient momentum in the Main Draw upsetting 7th seed/n°67 Gallovits en route before losing to n°89 Salerni.

Mariana DUQUE MARINO: Ever 1rst QF on the WTA circuit for that young talented colombian girl at Bogota Tier III. She proved that she deserved her WC ousting 5th seed/n°62 Meusburger (dropping only 3 games) before falling on 3 sets to eventual Runner Up n°89 Salerni.

Betina JOZAMI: what a run for that young talent at Bogoat Tier III! She reache dher ever 1rst WTA SF as a qualifer! In teh qualies she upsetted 7th seed/n°155 compatriot Cravero and 2nd seed/n°120 De Los Rios. Then she created the biggest upset pf the tournement ousting Top seed/n°32 Penetta (recent winner at Vina Del Mar) and 9th seed/n°69 Muller before losing to qualifer and eventual winner n°135 Llagostera Vives.

Urzula RADWANSKA: New entry for Agnieszka little sister. She made it to the Top 200 after qualifying at Doha Tier I ousting 8th seed/n°121 O'Brien and 13th seed/n°131 Nagy. Veteran n°37Garbin was too strong in the MD 1rst rd but gave a good fight.

FASTER MOVEMENTS IN THE TOP 10, 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200

TOP 10:
Ana IVANOVIC n°2 (+1) and Daniela HANTUCHOVA n°7 (+1): Ana is back to n°2 in the world despite an early 3rd rd exit due to injury. Same destiny for Daniela who was forced to retire in the 3rd set vs n°94 Baczinszky in QF.

TOP 20:
Agnes SZAVAY n°17 (+1) and Agnieszka RADWANSKA n°19 (+1): Opposite week despite same rising for those both future elite girls. Desapointing loss for Agnes vs always dangerous n°41 Sugiyama whereas Agnieszka reached her ever 1rst Tier I SF falling to 4th seed/n°5 and eventual winner Sharapova.

TOP 50:
Caroline WOZNIACKI n°43 (+10): Caroline is breaking her ranking career high after reaching her ever 1rst QF in a Tier I at Doha. She ousted 8th seed/n°9 Bartoli en route before losing to 4th seed/n°5 Sharapova. She's now the Top ranked player born in 1990 overtaking Paszek who is out of competition for injury.

TOP 100:
Nuria LLAGOSTERA VIVES n°74 (+40): Trumendous week at Bogota Tier III for Nuria who won the title as qualifer! This is her 2nd WTA title (1rst in Rabat 2004). She captured the title ousting a couple of Top 100 players and especially 6th seed/n°63 Errani and n°89 Salerni in final. Shes still far away from her best ..n°35 (june 2005)

It is so nice to see all those young players making so much prgress. I like Szavay but I am sad that it was because Shahar lost points from Memphis.

I thought Shahar is going to play Memphis, no?

She is playing Memphis but she lost her finalist points last week and because she didn't make enough points in Doha she lost her 17th ranking, If Shahar will have a good tournament in Memphis this week (Semi/final/winner) she will get her rankings back to 17, though Agnes can beat Maria but it is not predictable.
