First meeting between the 2 girls.
Agnieska is on fire since OA and Anna has difficulty to find again her tennis since her attack.

I hope Anna will win.

Aga will win. As clever as Anna is, I still think Aga is more unpredictable.

It won't be equal rivalry. Ana is fresh but unlucky Aga on her last legs. So result is known even now.

Aga. When Chakvetadze doesn't play a hardhitter, her game is not as good ... She struggles to hit a winner & tends to make terrible mistakes. Aga is in a better form & confidence as well :).

Very tough match so early. Both can win thats for sure. Aga is in great form compare to Anna. Anna will win this one with a convincing loud performance. Anna will find her best tennis again. Anna 7-5 6-4

im going for anna but with no real confidence. the thing thats swinging it annas way is aga must be tierd and feeling the effects of the last 10 days, where as annas been in dubai a while practicing.

having said that a straight sets or 3 set win either way wouldn't suprise me.

cmon anna time to regain focus and confidence.

Hard match to call with any confidence. So many intangibles. Both smart players. The 1st match of many they will play against each other over the next 10 years. I'm not even going to try to guess a winner.

I see them as having similar games. It will be a fair match-up. No one with the serve advantage. I hope Chak attack shows up though.

Radwanska will be tired, but she is on kind or a roll, so I think she will win this in three.

don't understand why she still plays doubles in Dubai, it seems all she needs is some extra rest time

because she is still young, injury-free and needs money?

Anyway, superb form doesn't last for extended period of time and low ranked players usually need it to go deep in the tournaments, where most revenue come from. A final in tier I tournament can contribute for 50-70% of prize money in year. That's why when it is on they try to capitalize on it as much as possible

These top athletes practice hard every day, so a day in day out schedule is OK physically. It all depends on mental fittness. If she's on roll, she can play and win matches like this.

Wow I wish they were showing this match in the US. I'm a big admirer of the way Anna and Aga play. They're smart on the court. :hearts:

But I think Aga might have the upper hand here and now. She has the momentum, and Anna does like more pace than Aga will be giving.

I'd be more worried about Aga being tired form qualies if she hadn't blown through them so quickly with such impressive scorelines. :worship: Those matches couldn't have been much different than practice sessions!

If she ain't gonna fall over because of the tiredness, Aga's gonna win this in two very close sets. C'mon you Giant-killer, make Anna suffer! :woohoo:
